Dare's mind was moving in a thousand directions when he walked into the hospital wing, slouching over the bookbag slung against his hip. Hair hung over the majority of his face, black interrupted by violet, blue, and green. He was wearing skinny jeans that used to be form-fitting, a chunky belt to hold them in place, a dark tee that didn't cling anymore either, and arm warmers that stretched from thumbholes on his hands up just past his elbows.
He wasn't as aware of how he looked as he'd been last night, but that was mostly because his mind was on other things now. Still, the permanent grey smudges beneath his eyes were there, if hidden by a dab of concealer and his skin was dull from whatever this was. He wasn't starving himself. He wasn't forcing himself to stay awake at night. She'd probably tell him it was nothing, tell him it was normal this close to N.E.W.T.s and send him off with advice to get out once in a while.

The hospital wards alerted Katia when someone walked into the hospital, and with a sigh she set down the vial of potion that she had been testing for potions class. She wiped her hands against hand towel that was on her table, and swept her hair up into a loose bun. Sticking her head out of the doorway, Katia noted that the check was unnecessary, as there was actually a student in the hospital wing. Lately students had been pranking the hospital wing, and it was trying Katia's nerves.
Smoothing out the wrinkles in her dress, Katia stepped into the hospital wing. Regardless of student or not, her appearance was everything, poised perfect. "Can I help you?" She'd probably have to pull a file or two, this student didn't look like a first year.

Dare looked up, blinking at the woman. Somehow he'd forgotten that she was the nurse. That bizarre dinner party had been forever ago, and he was used to seeing her in potions class. He thought about turning around just then, claiming that he'd gotten lost and going to Kane after all. At least Kane didn't teach any of his classes. What if she decided there was something wrong with him, and what if it affected his grade?
He stared at her through his thick fringe for a moment, then turned his gaze out into the room and cleared his throat. "My... I mean, I'm supposed to..." He paused and took a breath to calm himself. "I've lost a lot of weight and I don't know if it's stress or what." Maybe he should have gone to Kane. Kane had helped Michael. He looked back up at Professor Medina. "Should I be here?" he asked. "I could go see the counselor."

The school counselor was were she sent students who were ill due to stress, emotions, any number of psychological symptoms. She nodded to a bed, "if you think it is just stress, I can give you something simple for that. I can check you over just to be safe, either way. If it's not physical you can go see the counselor." She searched her name for the student's name, he was familiar, but she still couldn't place his name. "I am sorry I do not remember your name, I have a lot of students."

Inwardly, Dare winced. He'd been missing from her class for a few months so maybe he shouldn't be surprised. Not everyone had his ability to place faces. "Dare," he said. He opted not to point out what class he was in or the fact that he'd had dinner with her before.
He headed for the bed she'd pointed out and lifted the strap of his book bag over his head, removing it to set aside. He dropped it on the floor and sat down, wondering how much of what he was supposed to tell her. Did it even matter? Would she just wave her wand and tell him he'd wasted his time coming in?

Xavier's nose was bleeding when he came into the hospital wing. The boy or girl with the tarantula hair had thrown a hard punch and he'd taken it like a man, but it still needed fixed. He didn't want his face messed up.

"We need help here," Xander said. He looked at the tall kid and poked his brother in the side. "Parade at two o'clock," he said.

The second set of students walking in had been a surprise, Katia took a measure of them, and if it hadn't been for the bloody nose she would have set them aside to deal with later. She sighed in exasperation, "give me a moment Dare. I'll stop the bleeding and come right back." She gestured to the other students, her presence commanding, even if her body, despite the newly acquired layers moved with the grace of a pure born witch. "What happened?" she directed the question to the strikingly similar twins.

Dare sent the briefest of glares toward the boys. He didn't know what the one had said to the other, but it rankled at him. He was tense enough without wondering if he should have a shield spell up when he left the hospital wing. No one bothered him anymore, probably because he could defend himself. He sighed and shook his head at himself. He'd just wait. It was annoying as hell, though.
(((I'll wait until you're done.)))

The nurse was one foxy bird, and Xavier put on his best put-upon look. "I was on the quidditch pitch and this big tall guy punched me because I was in his way." He pouted innocently.

"Not that tall guy," Xander added. That tall guy looked fun though. Was the whole school gay? The newspaper thought so.

Katia's brow arched over her eye, inwardly she was sure there was more to the story than that, but she wasn't interested. A hundred stories came in a day, most outlandish, I was just trying to make myself pretty for a boy, I was just researching a homework assignment, I had no idea this would happen. Or her favorite, I didn't realize the forbidden forest was actually dangerous. "Maybe next time you should step out of the path of his fist," she murmured as she raised her wand to halt the bleeding and snap his nose back into place.

"Ow!" Tears came to Xavier's eyes at the pain. Nurses were supposed to be nice!

"That's it? Someone hurts my brother and it's his fault?" Xander asked. What a bitch!

"Whoever's fault it is, it is not my fault. If you want to make a report make it to the headmistress." She heard the pain in the boys voice and threaded a charm into the spell she was working to make the pain less. "I fix broken noses," she let a grin slide over her face, "at least two to three times a day. I know it is such a prestigious right to be able to fix broken noses, but I teach too, so I do not have time to fix social problems." She arched a brow, "not that I am any good at it."
