Markise forced his emerging frown into a pout and arched suggestively in Ariel's arms. "It's fine," he said, trying for a kiss again. "Come on, just a short break?" He closed his eyes and turned his lips up toward Ariel's, determined to forget the temptation that clubbing had been and put it all behind him. Ariel was the reason he didn't go anymore, and it was worth it, he knew it was. He just wanted a taste of why to remind himself.

Ariel wasn't good at resisting, especially not when Markise knew just how to move against him to remove any defenses he may have had. He could ask again after, couldn't he? Right now, it was much preferable to tip his head down and give Markise the kiss he was asking for. His hands continued their movements against Markise's back for a few moments before slipping beneath his shirt.

This was what Markise wanted, and he took it eagerly, encouraging Ariel to give him everything he had. He had to be quiet, didn't want Jory knowing what he'd come up here for, but then, usually listening for the bells was enough. When there were customers in the shop, he typically stayed downstairs in the shop. When break time had ended, Markise graced Ariel with a broad, secretive smile. "I needed that," he said softly.

Ariel blinked his eyes open and they hovered on Markise's smile. "Knowing you, you will again in a couple of hours." Not that he minded in the least the number of breaks Markise took. His fingers moved lazily over Markise's skin, not ready to let him go, just a couple of more minutes would be okay. "Is everything really okay down there?"

Markise's smile faded to a pout again, though it was genuine this time. "Jory's down there," he said. "He wants me to help him find guys or something, and I told him to shove it." It was so much more than that, but he didn't want to think about it. He pressed a trail of light kisses along the edge of Ariel's jaw. "He wants me to take him clubbing and I said no, cause I have you." Ariel was still the only reason Markise didn't go clubbing on Friday nights. He still wanted to, the urge hadn't disappeared, though it had faded for quite a while, but his reason for locking himself up in the apartment every Friday night was to keep Ariel safe.

Clubbing was a big thing, something that could bring out the worst in both of them, but they had had so much fun when they had gone. "He doesn't have anyone else he could go with, does he?" Ariel asked. Sure, he had thought about going out before, sure, it would be fun. But that didn't take away the possibility of him running into someone he used to know or Markise getting drunk.

Markise made a small sound of displeasure, but didn't stop the little kisses that kept him distracted enough to keep talking. "Just me," he said. "He needs to get laid and stop feeling sorry for himself..." Markise knew he could help, knew he could keep Jory from getting into too much trouble, show him how to weed out the liars from the charmers, but he couldn't do it at the Bloody Mary, and the stupid kid would never believe him if he didn't see it for himself. He was tired of thinking about it already. His leg slid against Ariel's, despite the fact that nothing was going to be happening for a while, and without any real thought, he stole a kiss in an attempt to keep the subject from coming up again.

Ariel gave in to the kiss for just a few moments before he broke it to continue. It wasn't the best of subjects, but if it had been enough to make Markise need to come upstairs, then there was something going on. "You could have just told him no," he said. "So why did you have to come up here?" Especially when, according to Markise, Jory was still down there.

"I wanted to come up here," Markise said, pouting again. "And I told him he could go get gang-raped for all I care, so maybe he left. He wasn't listening, anyway." Ariel was listening, but he didn't want Ariel to listen, he wanted Ariel to distract him. "I'm not going, I don't f~ing care," he murmured, trying to distract Ariel, now.

Ariel's eyebrows came together, Markise's words saying more than what they did at face-value. He sighed softly, "If you didn't care, would you really be acting like this?" he asked. With what Markise said, it didn't seem like he truly didn't care. He didn't really like the idea of Markise going to a club, but he still wanted to know what was going on.

Markise frowned at the question. "I can't go, so it doesn't f~ing matter anyway," he said, annoyance setting in again. "I need to get dressed." He moved to get up and hunt things down, keeping himself from grumbling, but taking the return of his frustration back to its focus on Jory. If Jory could just do things on his own instead of being fearful and codependent, he could go to London alone during the day and be fine.

Ariel pushed himself up to lounge on the bed and watch Markise. "Do you want to go?" he asked. No, he didn't like the idea of Markise going, but if Markise wanted to, and it sounded like he did, then Ariel would try to figure something out. Surely something could be worked out, something needed to get worked out, if it brought this reaction from Markise.

Markise looked up from his pants long enough to shoot Ariel a glare that was far more about the situation than the question. "Yes," he said sharply, and tugged his zipper into place. "I want to go, and I want to dance and have everyone want me and forget about school and the store and just... be Angel for a while!" He turned away from Ariel to tug his shirt over his head, pissed at himself for wanting it. He should be happy without it.

Ariel hadn't known exactly what to expect for an answer, but what he heard was more than he could have imagined. After a few moments he stood, pulling on his pants before he came over to Markise. "I...didn't know," he said, though he didn't like the idea of everyone wanting Markise. He doubted that Markise would leave him or cheat, but it didn't make it any more appealing. He hadn't sensed anything wrong.

"It doesn't matter," Markise said, his voice still sharp, though he heard himself this time. He pressed his lips together tightly, struggling to regroup. Ariel wasn't fighting with him, and he didn't need to be goaded into fighting. "I'm happy, Ariel," he said, the words truthful, if not the whole truth by themselves. "I can't get bored with you around." And if he'd been a little demanding lately, Ariel hadn't complained.
