Quinn's fingers smoothed at the hair on the side of her head, her fingers twisting into a few strands. "He let me talk to him. He's one of the first people on campus to let me actually spend more than five minutes talking to him." She wouldn't cover the bit about him smoking, or the drink that gave her dreams, but she did blush as she looked away for a moment, "he kissed me." And I kissed him back.

"But..." Jory had had to work and pull to get anything from Lyric, and this girl had been able to talk to him, and he had kissed her. "But he doesn't like being touched," he said in a small voice. He didn't understand. Unless Lyric had just completely lied and that was why he hadn't been able to do anything... But Jory didn't want to imagine that.

Quinn grimaced, "yeah I got that. After...well after he kissed me, he said that he couldn't do it." She shook her head, "I could tell, the way he was acting about it..." she ran her fingers through her hair again. "But I understand why, so it doesn't bother me. That's why he has to forget sometimes anyways, that's why he helped me forget for a while."

That's why he has to forget sometimes. Had Lyric told Quinn everything? It had taken so many conversations to get that out of him! And she said she understood why. Maybe that was why Lyric had been able to kiss her, because she wasn't an idiot and could understand where Jory couldn't. Jory had heard everything Quinn said, though it was taking his mind too long to process it all when each piece brought something else to be utterly confused about.
When the last bit hit him, he looked up at her again. "So...you got drunk with him?" He couldn't see how that could be any better than only one person being drunk, and he definitely couldn't see why Lyric would want to do that with her. It seemed like another mark to the idea that Lyric didn't like guys.

Quinn's brow furrowed, her fingers twisting a strand of hair into a tiny curl, "no, I don't think so. I mean, I had a glass of pumpkin juice and so did he. I mean it could have been, but it didn't taste bad. I always assumed alcohol would taste as bad as it smelled." She smiled for a moment, and blushed again, "it just felt safe in that room, like it was built to keep in safe thoughts."

"The Room of Requirement?" When had this happened? If it had been before, then why hadn't Lyric just said so? Jory was almost wishing he had just stayed at MI. He wouldn't have the friends he had now, but at least he wouldn't have been with Lyric and Eros and had to deal with all of this. If he hadn't left, he could be living in a fantasy world where everything turned out right instead of horribly wrong.

A simple nod was the only answer to that question, but she still wondered, after all Lyric had said that she and Jory should be friends. "Why do you care about what Lyric did with me anyways? I mean he said that we should be friends, but I don't..." she didn't get how that included giving him the information she had only wanted to share with Markise.

Why would Lyric want them to be friends? That just seemed so cruel. He tugged his sleeves over his hands and crossed his arms as he dropped his eyes. "Don't worry about it, I'll just go," he said softly, shaking his head. He was hurt and confused. Yes, he had been with Eros, but that was completely different. He hadn't given Eros anything he hadn't given Lyric, that was so different from telling Quinn he couldn't touch someone sober.

Quinn shook her head, disbelief in her eyes, "you're serious. I tell you everything that you ask about something personal to me, something I only intended to tell Markise, just because you asked. But you can't tell me why I divulged that information to someone I don't know. Maybe it was because Lyric said that he thought we'd make good friends, or maybe it's common decency, but I think I deserve an answer."

Jory's eyes rose and his shoulders hunched slightly. "I don't know why Lyric said we should be friends, I don't want to be friends with someone that was able to make him talk like that," he said softly. He hoped she didn't make him say more. It was so easy to tell most people about himself, but it just felt wrong to tell Quinn.

Quinn shook her head, "talk like what? Lyric has issues, I have issues, you have issues, what does that have to do with me asking you what business you have asking ME personal questions, and not giving me the human dignity of an answer." Quinn didn't know what devil was raising it's head inside of her, but she couldn't be more frustrated at having revealed something special to her, with someone that couldn't even tell her why.

"I had to talk to him for months for him to tell me anything!" Jory said. He didn't know how long Lyric and Quinn had been talking, but it didn't make sense that she could just know and understand what had happened to Lyric. His eyes fell again, darting away to one of the displays. He shouldn't tell her what else there was to it.

Quinn let the building anger subside, she'd only been angry a few times in her life, and she didn't know why this of all times caused her to be upset. "So, you're his friend too right?" It only made sense, after all Lyric had mentioned Jory as a friend for her, he wouldn't send her after someone that was mean or rude would he? She refused to think ill of him, instead she smiled, "no wonder he thought we would be friends, if he is such good friends with you. I'm glad that he'd let me be a part of that."

No! No, they weren't friends! If nothing else, they were ex-lovers. Jory's mind made a separation between lovers and love, which was an easy difference for him. "I don't think we're....friends anymore..." He backed further away from Quinn. Where did she get that they were good friends? It had taken so long to learn what had happened to Lyric, that was the opposite of being good friends.

Quinn was really confused now, "so if you were friends, and he told you something that obviously is hard for him to tell people, why aren't you friends now?" If it was her, the person she told her darkest secrets to, she'd be keeping as close to her as possible, to lend support, a shoulder, anything to make it easier to bear. She ran a hand through her hair as she thought about the shoulder Lyric lent, one that knew quite a bit to much about the dark people in the world.
