"MI, it was horrible, honestly. So me and a couple of friends moved here." Connor himself hadn't minded the place too bad, but the rest of the guys had hated the strict restrictions on the whole school. "In my opinion, the headmistress was a little nuts...there was an attack thing there and apparently her sister was a Death Eater and everything." Connor shook his head and looked out over the library.

"MI? As in Magic International?" No way, Layne thought, that's a weird coincidence! "Do you know Jory?" She couldn't imagine there were many Jorys around so the last name was dropped. Jory was in Gryffindor, and so was Connor. Maybe they knew each other! Maybe Connor knew more about Lyric. Layne had to bite down on her lip to keep from smiling too much.

"Uh...I don't know a Jory from MI, there's one in my dorm, though," Connor answered, raising an eyebrow. He got a weird vibe from Jory, but the guy kept to himself pretty well so he didn't know really what to think about him. "Why?" he asked. He hadn't really talked to the guys at MI or here.

"Oh okay then," Layne said. "He's basically my best friend in the world. Do you know a Trent? I know that guy too who apparently went to the same school." It was hard to get the word Trent to slip her lips, Lyric just seemed so much better. But, if she wasn't even suppossed to be calling him that yet, she assumed it wouldn't be wise to say it to someone else.

"The guy with the weird hair?" Connor asked, "Yeah, he's in our dorm, too." He didn't want to talk about those two, but at least it was something to talk about, and his mind wasn't going crazy being close to this girl anymore. Was this girl friends with everyone in his dorm room?

Layne nodded and less enthusiastically then she realized she said, "Yupp, that's him." He still needed to grow on her. He was just so....quiet. Not that it was a bad thing, but for someone like Jory he needed to balance him out. Maybe a more talkative person who wasn't good at Divinition. That would be the ideal person. Layne looked at her closed text book in thought then decided she wanted to change the subject. Jory already had Lyric, he didn't really need Layne now to think about these things for him.

"I take it you don't like him as much as the Jory guy," Connor said, though he could understand it. That kid was weird. He didn't know what to say to Layne right now; he didn't know anyone he could ask about. Well, there was Melody, and now it was easy for his mind to go back to her and immediately zoom down the paths it was wont to take when he thought about her.

Layne shrugged, "I've known Jory forever. I don't like anyone as much as I like him." She laughed a bit. Of course there was more, but nothing Connor needed to know. As far as Layne knew, the concert was cancelled so Jory would find a way to inform people soon enough. "But, it's boring talking about people I know," Layne added, changing the topic, "How long have you been here at Hogwarts?"
