Markise nodded at Quinn's comment. He thought she could pull the black shirtdress off on its own, but that was a big step from what she was wearing now. "You can wear a camisole with that," he said, sifting through the clothes until he found one in sage green with a bit of ruffle at the edge. "Like this," he said. He picked up the black shirt and slid the green inside, showing how they layered together.

Quinn looked at what Markise was holding up and let out a nervous laugh of overwhelm. "I don't know how you do it. That looks great, but I doubt I could ever pick something like that out on my own Markise. What's your secret." Quinn cocked her head for a moment, "do I hear house elves whispering in your ears?"

Markise had to fight himself not to roll his eyes, but compromised with a quirk of his lips. "The store came with an instruction manual," he said teasingly, then changed the subject. He wasn't about to say or let her drag out I've been reading fashion magazines since I was a kid and I used to make clothes for Wendy Witch and G.I. Joe.
"So, I know you like these, Markise said, hanging them on a hook. "And the skinny jeans. That's one awesome outfit you can wear a few different ways." He picked out a couple other things he knew she'd liked and gave her a couple hints on mixing them up so she could make more outfits out of fewer pieces. He probably could have pushed for more, but if she ended up with shopper's remorse, she'd never come back.

"Thanks Markise," Quinn said as he helped her load up a couple of bags full of clothes. She knew that she at least had enough money to cover what he'd given her this time, and if he was going to donate to help the club that would just be all the better. "I'm really glad that I came in to your shop today," on top of everything else it was a confidence booster to have new clothes, that might express a bit about herself.

Markise smiled as he pushed a small money pouch across the counter for Quinn to take. "So am I," he said, though he was torn between being glad she'd come and being nervous about what thoughts she'd walk away with, and what she could tell people about him. He hadn't donated much, not really, just enough that he hoped he could get some kind of tax thing on it. "You'll have to stop by again sometime so I can tell you how incredible you look."

Quinn grinned wide as she shoved a few bits of hair behind her head, "if you don't come to the concert, then I'll come and show you on the way to the concert." The money bag that Quinn handed over was larger than the one that he'd handed over to her. She closed her eyes for a moment, "I think I'll look like a princess." Maybe something more than a princess, but she didn't have the words to describe anything more than princess.

"Definitely," Markise said. Quinn was beaming, and he had no issues stroking her ego so she'd leave floating. "Everyone will bow to you, Princess Quinn," he said, tucking a receipt into her bag. He flashed her a glittering smile, one that worked on either gender. "You better stop by. I'll be looking for you." He'd be sure the shop was open, at least.

Quinn couldn't help the butterflies floating in her stomach as she said her goodbyes to Markise. As she left the store with her purchases clutched tight to her chest, she was grinning and not quite looking where she walked. Every couple of feet she'd trip over a stone or pebble, look down at her bag, and keep walking, warm fuzzies floating in her head.

Ariel was glad that the girl was finally gone, but he finished what he was doing before he pushed himself to his feet. "Are you really going to give money to that thing?" he asked, leaning back against a display. He wanted nothing to do with any of it himself; and for now he didn't even want to be involved in anything underground like clubs.

"I already did," Markise replied." He tucked the receipt he'd made of it into a hidden drawer in the cash register before looking back up at Ariel. His brows drew slightly together, and he wondered if there was anything he could have done that would could have distanced him from all that. "I didn't want her coming back and begging again, or sending someone else to beg. I talked to her in the hallway one time, and she just seems like one of those people who doesn't let things go."

Ariel nodded and pushed away from the display to start on something else. He didn't care to linger on the possibility of being found out, and he saw no reason to continue to talk to Markise about something that wasn't really that big of a deal. The girl didn't know and they had made it out without giving her hints or anything she could tell someone else.
