Dare could see how far away Michael's mind was, and he leaned over, nuzzling aside soft red hair to press a kiss against hidden skin. "It's going to be amazing," he murmured, then lay back on the blanket, resting his head on folded arms. It didn't really matter where it was, he was sure they'd have fun anywhere, but they weren't going just anywhere, so that automatically made it awesome.

Michael shifted to lay down but was interrupted by Elouai who insisted he throw the ball. He obliged, then laid down on his side, propped up on one elbow. "I'm excited about it," he said, "I just...it won't be long enough." But they couldn't put more money into it, there was always time for vacations to other places another time, though.

Dare's eyes softened, and his lips curved slightly. "I know," he said softly. They'd have to pack as many memories into that week as they could manage, something Dare didn't think would be all that difficult. "We'll have to enjoy what we've got." They were already incredibly lucky his dad had picked up the additions to the apartment, and really, they'd needed that. He wouldn't wished he'd asked for a lengthy honeymoon instead.

Michael nodded and smiled as he found Dare's eyes. "I don't think we'll have a problem with that." He imagined they could thoroughly enjoy themselves in a room at the Leakey Cauldron, but he wanted to go all out for the week. The only problem was the money. Perhaps...perhaps he could write his mother? He knew he would be getting money on his graduation, but he didn't want to have to spend everything, even if it was for the perfect honeymoon.

"Just over a month," Dare said softly. It was strange to think of, but they'd have waited half their relationship for this. Dare shifted his head to draw out one hand, lifting it and smoothing back Michael's hair. It was impossible not to think of everything that was going to happen in the span of a week. They'd be having a ceremony promising each other forever, then going to France. Then... Dare had thought about what came next plenty of times.

Michael's smile widened and his mind took the same path as Dare's. So much would happen, their relationship would move so much further in such a short amount of time. "So how long do you think it will take us to get used to writing Blackwood-Hardt?" he asked. So many long years of writing Hardt, and now he would have to add to it, he had the feeling he would be crossing out a lot of Hardts before he got used to it.

Dare chuckled at that, and his lips spread into a grin. "It shouldn't be too bad. For me, anyway. I don't have as much to add on." His grin grew crooked. "We could still go with Blackhardt," he teased. He liked Blackwood-Hardt, though to be honest he hadn't thought of the name change nearly as much as other things. He did now, on realizing how close he was to changing his name forever. It was so odd to think about, but he couldn't imagine doing it any other way.

Michael grinned but shook his head, "I like Blackwood-Hardt." Dare would just have to add on, Michael normally didn't leave enough room to squeeze in Blackwood, though. He still couldn't think of a better way to deal with the name-change issue. And keeping separate names wasn't even an option in Michael's mind. It was a small thing, but it meant a lot.

"So do I," Dare said. He turned his head as Elouai approached, dropping her ball, then lying next to dare with a huff. She entertained herself looking around the park as she rested, and Dare turned back to Michael. "Maybe it won't be hard after all," he mused. "There's no way I'm going to suddenly forget about us."

Michael shook his head, neither would he. He shifted over to press a light kiss to Dare's lips and then settled back down closer to him and rested one hand on Dare's stomach. "We'll have to put someone in charge of taking pictures at the ceremony," he said. His mind went straight to Brindle, for some reason, but he had the feeling she would be the most enthusiastic one when it came to taking pictures.

"You're the best photographer I know," Dare said, eyes laughing. It was true, though. Neither Brindle nor Markise had ever been in charge of a camera for any length of time. He wouldn't suggest hiring one since they were already stretched so tight, but... "We don't have a lot of guests. I don't know, wouldn't it be weird having one of them taking pictures instead of watching?" And yet, wouldn't a professional be wandering around taking them? Dare realized again that he had no clue how these things work.

"They would still be watching," Michael pointed out, "They would just be taking pictures, too." He didn't see anything wrong with it. Besides, that meant they wouldn't have to pay someone to do it. "I think it would be okay, and I do want pictures." At least that set of pictures they would be able to show others without turning bright red. He had a feeling that there would be at least once that he would turn red during the ceremony, though.

Dare nodded his agreement. "We'll have to figure out who to have do it. Ask around or something," he said. He started thinking through their short guest list. Dad, Michael's mom, Brindle, and Markise if I can find him, the Headmistress, Grey, Kane, Dru, Lucretia, if she shows up, Adara, Michae's friend Eros, and Silver, but he'll be my best man. Dare blinked up at Michael, settling his hand against the one on his stomach. "Any thoughts on your best person yet?" he asked. Had Michael mentioned Dru before?

Michael wrinkled his nose slightly and shook his head. "No, I haven't." Did he really have to, though? There wasn't really anyone that he had known long enough to really consider a best...person. He had known Dru probably for the longest other than Eros, but it was so strange to ask her. He looked down at their hands.

"Silver's going to feel pretty silly standing up there with Elouai as your best... dog," Dare teased. Elouai looked over at the sound of her name, but nothing exciting was going on, so she turned back toward the slowly increasing population in the park. "Besides, she'll be pretty busy as ring-bearer."
