Michael grinned and nodded, though he had the feeling that no matter how much they practiced anything they would probably forget it the moment they were standing there together. He kept an eye on the woman bent over and staring at all the fish but focused most of his attention on the book. "Here," he said, putting his hand on the page, "We have to do this sometime," he said, grinning again. On the page was a picture of a cake along with different toppers. He felt a kind of childish glee at the idea of a cake.

"Sweet!" Dare said, shuffling his chair closer to Michael's. He forgot all about the witch at the fish tank for now. "I hadn't even thought about that." And yet it was the most important part. Aside from getting married. Civil partnershipped, he corrected himself. This was exciting. This was something solid and real, far more real than the drawings he'd made. "When can we go looking?" he asked. "Is there a bakery on Diagon Alley?" They couldn't go to London for this, no matter how much fun it sounded like. "Wait, can we pick up the cake or do they deliver it? That made a huge difference.

Michael couldn't help but laugh lightly at Dare's excitement and barrage of questions. "I don't know, there has to be one in Diagon Alley, and they probably deliver." He answered when he thought he could get in more than a word. Really, they probably did both, but he had no idea how they could transport a cake from Diagon Alley to Hogwarts without ruining it. "Maybe we could go looking tomorrow?"

Dare's smile widened into a grin, and he forgot himself long enough to lean over, bringing his lips to Michael's. That was going to have to be answer enough. Yes, he wanted to go looking tomorrow. Sunday was definitely his favorite day of the week. Dare didn't think he'd be able to get his fill of Michael just over the weekend, but he'd do his damnedest to try.

Michael made the kiss short, only because the woman was there. When he pulled away, he gave Dare some consolation by resting his hand lightly on Dare's thigh. His eyes flickered over to the woman, who had moved on to another display and apparently hadn't seen the kiss. He sighed softly and looked back over at Dare. "We'll go, but we'll have to do something else about a topper, I really don't see a wizarding bakery having one for us."

Dare's crooked smile returned at the feel of Michael's hand. It took him a moment to drag his mind back to the cake. "I bet the guy at that store could tell us where we could find stuff. You think?" As odd as it felt assuming that because he worked in a gay store he'd know where to find gay wedding cake toppers, he had to know more than Dare and Michael, who knew nothing. "I'd rather not go into like, a wedding store or something and buy a couple and break off the brides or something."

Michael laughed softly at that idea and shook his head, "I don't think that would go over too well, besides, those wouldn't look anything like us." The toppers he had grown up seeing always highly resembled those getting married. "He might know," he said, looking down. "But anything we get in London would look strange, they would all be wearing tuxedos."

Two ideas sparked at that, one he'd been rolling around in the back of his mind since the first time Michael had mentioned cake toppers. Dare blinked as he tried to peel the ideas apart from each other enough to make sense. "Okay, I don't know what else we'd wear, because I'm not wearing a dress, but if... If we could find room..." He didn't know how they could, though. Their house wasn't exactly full, but there was no way to bring in ceramics without a huge mess in whatever room he used. He shook his head lightly. "I'd make them, but it'd take a while and it'd be a mess," he finished.

It took Michael a second for it to click in his mind, and then he remembered Dare's Christmas present from his father. "Maybe we could add on," he suggested. He wasn't exactly sure what the process was to get something like that done, especially in Diagon Alley, but he didn't think it would be too much trouble, he certainly had the money to do it. It would probably take most of the profit he had earned so far from the shop, but he would be getting money come graduation. Between making an add on or just a little section for Dare to work and buying the necessities for the ceremony, they would have to be careful.

Dare let out a sigh. He was sure that would be expensive. He shook his head. "We don't need an extra room just so I can make cake toppers," he said. "I'd rather have some kind of honeymoon and just buy some and transfigure them." It wouldn't be as personal, but they might even look better. He'd only ever dabbled in ceramics and wasn't at all sure of his skill.

"It wouldn't necessarily be just for toppers," Michael said, then paused as the woman came up to buy an armful of things. When the money was exchanged and she had turned away he looked back at Dare and rested his hand once more in its place on Dare's thigh. "It could be for art in general, you could set up your easel and maybe some day we could get a piano, or bring your guitar." It could be a room of relaxation.

Dare's lips curved, despite his best efforts. It was too nice a picture for him to argue. He'd thought before about getting a piano for Michael and putting it in the living room, but he knew there was no way they could afford one now. "That sounds amazing," he admitted, looking down at that hand against him. He settled his own on top of it, then looked back up at Michael. "Ceramics need their own room, though. Dust gets on everything." He'd want to see if wizards had kilns, too. He couldn't by any stretch of the imagination picture a kiln in or around the shop or apartment.

"Well..." Michael's eyebrows came together and his eyes dropped to Dare's hand. "We could have the room, but have a wall to separate from the ceramics area," he suggested. Yes it would cost a lot of money, but he would be getting more, so even if they had to borrow money it would get paid off come graduation. He could already picture the room, even if it didn't seem realistic.

"Then it'd be two rooms," Dare said. He didn't want to argue, though. "Let's think about it a while?" he suggested, then leaned to press a light kiss to Michael's cheek. He glanced out into the shop, but it was empty now, so he dipped back in for another kiss, whatever Michael would let him get away with. His lips curved, and just for the tease he shifted Michael's hand slightly further up his leg.

Michael took the kiss gladly now that the shop was empty, and his hand slid easily against Dare's leg. He didn't let the kiss go too long, though, in fear that someone could walk through the door. Not that he was afraid of kissing in public, but it wasn't very businesslike to be kissing his fiance behind the counter. He made a decision to ask around and see if he could start figuring out prices. "We need to find out how much everything is going to cost and write it down," he said when he broke the kiss and refocused on the book, where everything was in muggle money's prices.
