"And what were you thinking then?" Melody smiled with interest. As long as he didn't say anything sterotypical like a long white coat and a black beret she would be fine with whatever he said. Although, her mind traveled, she had worn an outfit like that before. It had been for a Halloween may years ago. She still had that beret somewhere in her basement at home....
Focusing her attention back to Connor she waited to see what he would say and at the same time really looked at him. When he wasn't looking down or away, she could tell he had really nice eyes. Although they were covered with his hair most of the time which wasn't so bad considering he did have sexy hair. Then, with a sudden realization that she was staring she looked away and repeated the process with the hair twirling.

Connor's eyes widened underneath the protection of his hair and he gave an almost nervous laugh. "Well, I was thinking of a bandanna in your hair, an old shirt, and some old ratty jeans, paint spots all over." It was true, though he had left out some key elements, like the way the shirt had been tied up and the torn hole the pants had had just in the right spot on her thigh.

Melody grinned, "I used to do that, well that is until the day I got paint all over my jeans so I made them art. It's pretty cool actually. From far away it looks like magenta, blue, and brown flowers but up close its paint spots. I think I brought them with me in on of these bags." She looked at her suitcases and wondered which one they were in. Maybe on the weekend she could wear them out and around. They were defintely conversation starters.

Connor smiled and glanced toward the bags. Of course, his mind had immediately gone back to where it had been a few minutes before, on a little bit more revealing outfit than he had admitted to thinking about. "Maybe you can show me sometime," he offered, his smile broadening into a grin as he thought about it. He would love to see her like that.

"Sure," Melody said, "I might wear them out to explore some of the off grounds areas like Diagon and whatnot this weekend. You should come, we could hang out." Melody was outstanded how in one conversation she had gone from shy new girl, to confident artist chick. And more and more was she enjoying being with Connor. Although it was still her first day, and Connor was he first guy she had met here, she could tell they would be really good friends.

Connor grinned again and nodded. "That'd be great, what about this weekend?" he asked, eyes bright, then glanced away. "Ah...I mean, whenever you want to meet up?" He didn't want to seem overeager. He put his hands together in front of him and linked his fingers together. "That is, if you want to meet up soon..." The heat spread up his neck and his ears again and he took a deep breath.

Melody smiled, "This weekend would be good. I'd love to go sooner rather than later." She turned her back away from the railing and got into a more comfortable position leaning against one of her suitcases on an upper stair. Then, with a quick motion she parted her hair into two sections and placed them over her shoulders so it wouldn't get caught in the luggage's zipper.
'So, now the questions is Hogsmede or Diagon? Which place has the better shops?" She had been to a place similiar to Diagon Alley back at home but had never been to the original. Although Hogsmede was new to her as well. Maybe they could go this weekend to one place than another at the other? But, before she got too ahead of herself, Melody rememebered that rushing into things was never a good idea.

"I don't know, I haven't been to either one of them," Connor said, looking up at Melody again, more than thankful that she hadn't noticed the flush of his skin, though perhaps she just hadn't noticed. "Hogsmeade is closer, I know, but apparently Diagon Alley's easy enough to get to. I heard someone saying they used the Knight Bus."

"All the more reason to go then." Melody was getting excited for the trip to wherever. Strolling down the streets with a hot guy for company was good anyday. Although, it did seem a little too familiar for her, Melod pushed it out her mind. Any bad memories were going to stay in Ohio. She was going to forget about everything from before and start over new. "So should we do Diagon Alley then? I have to admit, I've never been on the Knight Bus before. I've heard of it though."

"That's okay with me," Connor said, smiling and looking at Melody again. "I'm not sure what's all there, but surely we can find something to do." Even if it was just looking through the shops and having some fun. He didn't particularly care, he was all but having a date with a gorgeous girl. He couldn't wait to find Vane and talk to him.

"We could totally find something to do, and if not I don't mind just hanging out with you." Melody matched his smile. On her first day did she already get a date?! Maybe public school wouldn't be so bad afterall. Now, of course she would need to actually go put her bags in the common room so she could unpack and find her cute jeans to wear!

Connor nodded and he couldn't ignore the rush that it gave him to know that she would enjoy just hanging out with him. "Maybe I'll ask around, see if there's anything. I heard something about a club in Hogsmeade, if all else fails." He bit his tongue a little too late on that one, he had never been to a club, he wouldn't know what to do with the music pumping and a girl in his arms. He needed to talk to Vane.

Melody hadn't really considered the idea of a club. Clubs usually meant dancing, something Melody wasn't too comfortable with. Dancing was never good for the uncordinated. "Maybe," She said finally, "But, when it comes to dancing I am really bad." Her cheeks turned a barely visable light pink color at her confession. Being home schooled, there was never a need to dance since there were never any dances/clubs to go to.

"Me, too," Connor said, a bit more of a grin on his face than probably should have been there. "I've never been to a club, but I think it'd be fun." He really needed to go see Vane. He hadn't talked to Vane much about Holly, but Melody was different, Melody was gorgeous, and he was going on a date with her. Well, it wasn't officially a date, but it counted, right? People had started coming through the hall more freely now, and he wondered how much longer he would have with her, because once they recognized a Hufflepuff....

"Yeah, I think so too...well except when I fall flat on my face from triping while dancing." Melody grinned. Although it was a joke, she could totally see that coming anyway. Then, as the people came in Melody went back to looking for someone who might be a hufflepuff. She didn't know much about them though so it was harded to scope one out. Turning back to Connor she said, "Who do you think is a Hufflepuff here?" She needed to go put her bags up before dinner, so she could get settled in.
