Chase felt like roaring into the night, anything to get out the tension, the pain that he was sharing with Storm, whether she wanted him to or not. He didn't bother being gentle this time. She needed a shock of reality. She needed to focus her anger on someone other than herself. His eyes were gleaming red with only the faintest trace of brown lining the edges as he looked down at her. "They're not your sins, Storm!" he said, his voice nearly a shout. "It's not your fault that some freak of human nature raped you, and it's sure as hell not your fault that the next jerk who came along did his best to twist the knife. What'd you ever do that you didn't really do for someone else?"

His tone made her tighten her fists, she flinched a bit, but stood her ground. She was sick of blaming people for things that happened to her, dragging them into a hole she dug herself. She wasn't sure how Chase knew, it made her look away from him, pulling her chin from his grasp and turning her back on him.
"I... I was raised to become the perfect daughter, a lady with allies, and when I'm grown up kill my enemies, and I believed that it was right, that the justification for killing is to purify this world." she sighed and turned back towards him.
"I suppose I'm trying to find a way to make up for that by hating myself, and even if that wasn't the case, I can never hate you." she said the last part quietly.

Chase's lungs tightened at the stark honesty in Storm's eyes, the pleading emotion in her voice. "Then don't hate me," he murmured. "But don't hate yourself, either. Storm, you're too good for that, and I swear, I swear I won't tell anyone, but I've seen it." He found himself shifting closer to her, telling himself not to push things, but for some reason, he didn't seem to be listening.

She turned back towards him a small smile on her face. She inched a little bit closer to him.
"I'm glad." she said quietly she was biting her lower lip looking down on the ground, she wasn't able to meet his gaze.
"I'll try, I honestly will." she said looking up at him.

He wouldn't kiss her. He wanted to, he didn't know if he'd be able to stop himself if she started something, but he had just enough self-control left right now. He brushed his fingers along her jaw, wondering what insanity had made him decide to stay with one girl. Maybe just one kiss. Chase's gaze flickered to Storm's lips, remembering the way she tasted. Don't do it.

She watched the conflict in his eyes, she could take advantage of this, but she couldn't bring herself to betray Dru in such away. She took a step back.
"Sorry about that." she muttered although she really wanted to be much closer to him.

Chase's body tensed as Storm backed away. His eyes found hers, trying to will her to understand something even he couldn't sort out. "Don't be sorry," he said. No, he was the one who should be sorry. Even when he wasn't trying, he managed to hurt her. "You didn't do anything." He wanted her to do something, wanted her to kiss him and absolve him of having made the decision.

She really couldn't take it. The air seemed thicker and her heart was racing. She couldn't take it much longer. She closed the gap with a few stride, she knew what she was about to do was wrong, but she couldn't deny herself what she wanted for a while now.
"I'm sorry." she said again. This time she was sorry for what she was about to do. She leaned in pressing her lips gently against him. She knew this was wrong, she knew she shouldn't do this to Dru, but the turmoil of emotions bubbling up inside her was too much to bear.

Chase caught Storm in his arms, the touch of her lips enough to break through the parchment-thin wall of his control. His own lips parted against hers, and he banished any thought of right or wrong for the taste of Storm's mouth. She had never held anything back when they were together, and he felt free again as they kissed, the biting wind only encouraging him to draw her closer into the warmth of his body.

She couldn't control herself. Her arms wound it's way around his neck, she didn't care about what would happen after, she didn't care anymore if he would just end up leaving her again, she was going to savor this kiss. She sighed contently parting her lips to intensify the kiss.

It was so easy to be with Storm, so easy to let the world slip away, leaving only the two of them in the dreamlike night. It had to be a dream; hadn't he dreamed this before? He'd dreamed of his hands slipping into her robes, seeking the curves of her body, he'd dreamed of the way the moonlight shone on her skin. He was dreaming it now as he kissed her, as he touched her.

She didn't care that his cool hand was touching her bare skin. She knew she wanted this more than anything, she knew that all this time she just used Emillian, not caring about how much of an impact it would later do. Her hands slid down to his chest. Her lips molding to his.

Her skin was so soft, so hot beneath his palms. This had to be a dream, he kept reminding himself as he deepened the kiss. His hands slid away from approved areas of her body, smoothing almost reverently over her, though uninhibited lust was at the root of every action. This was a dream, and it wouldn't matter if he shrugged off his jacket or pushed her cloak loose. The cold couldn't hurt him. Nothing could.

Her hand made it's way up to his face tracing his jaw. Her lips followed light kisses up and down the same area, until it found it's way back to his lips. Her finger were now tangled in his hair. She slightly pulled back for a deep breath.
"I... want you." she managed to gasp, her tongue tracing his lower lip.

"God, I want you," Chase echoed. His body was aching as he brought them to the forest floor, fallen leaves crackling beneath their weight. The night was silent except for the soft sounds of their breath, with no witness but the moon. Later, Chase lay beside Storm, holding her close. He pulled her cloak over them, for once at a loss for words.
