I must have missed that email. I was a few old members say 1 1/2 ago, but I did eventually return to the fold. I am sorry I am not more active, but grad school and work take up a bit of time...so I seem to only have some weekends free. I have also started threads here and there with no response. Feel free to look for them and respond.

Quite a few peeps have been on and messaged me promising to be more active which is good. Welcome back Kira! Will your sister be returning?

I'm totally back, but I like Adara's idea... falling over people would be so much more fun to RP than winning... *mind begins to wander*
I'm thinking one of the things that turns people away is the misleading members amount. I asked one friend to come and look at the site and judge for herself why she thinks the site is a little dead (although I'm guessing it will pick up soon) she said it was because when she looks at the members amount it say's that there are a lot of registered people, but because barely anyone logs in, it looks as if the site has died ages ago and it's unappealing.
I know it would take ages to clean up all the people who haven't been on (it's a whooping 700+ members) but maybe slowly cleaning it out could help.
I plan on staying on for a long time. I'm also going to go and call up my cousin in Canada and see if she would like to return (Lafra)

I've had PM conversations with new people about the member count, too. They ask if there are really that many members, since there are normally less than 20 of us on per day and fewer who actually post. I then have to tell them that most of those people were active, then I go off and list the current top posters and the ones that would post if they had something to post. (Dare, Michael, me, Brindle, Silver, Ariel/Logan, Chase, Annabelle, etc)
It's gotten to the point that a lot of people who would be posting a lot (Chase and Emilian, for example) just aren't because it gets boring only posting with the same three people. And since a lot of the regular characters are currently angry and not speaking to other characters (Michael and Emilian, Chase and Dru) some of the characters just disappear.
I'm realizing we need a gossip column just to update anyone who stops by!

I see where your getting at. It's not the lack of having the will power to post, but rather the lack of being able to post with someone in the first place.
We do have a gossip column, the one by Gabrielle Kedavra. Although I'm guessing she doesn't really have much to go on because of a lack of posters.

She has assloads to go on, just the writer has been indisposed. For example, Michael Hardt and Dare Blackwood are living together in Diagon Alley. (There's tons about them, actually.) Emilian and Adara have been more or less together for a year and survived a months' long separation while Emilian was in Germany. Chase Firebrand is allegedly engaged, though I can't say how I know that. *shrugs* There's a reason most of the characters aren't talking. They've had massive bursts of drama.
So Michael can't post with Emilian or Chase because they're not talking, and Chase isn't talking to Emilian, Michael, or Dru. Emilian won't talk to Michael, Chase, or Silver. There's a lot of that. There was some massive drama and fighting between DareandMichael and everyone. I'm so sending an owl to Dahlia. She checks in almost every day.

Yes, I had read a bit of that, i was always there reading everyone's threads, just never really logged in or had the time to post. Although the part about Chase being engaged has just aged me 30 years I think I might have to do some searching and read the things that I didn't have time reading... I feel so lost *scolds self* I'm never leaving Magikal for a long period of time... naughty me >_< I really just believe this site could really use a nice wash down. Cleaning it up from all the stuff (and people) not needed might make some improvements. I know it would be really hard on Hells to do it by herself so absolutely no pressure on that point. Although, maybe a few could help, like I saw there are two honor role students who I think have powers, while one was on not that long ago (Nov. 30th, 08) the other hasn't been on for a really long time (May 27th, 07).

If you want me to point you in any direction, I will. I've been into everything since I joined. Even this other site that died and all the students transferred here. That was exciting for a couple weeks until they rebuilt their site and disappeared. I have a massive urge to learn how to hack just to take their site down again.

LOL, hacking is a bit extreme... but you've got my support Since I have so much time, I've started to go through boards and see what I have missed. If I can't find something in particular, expect a PM from me I was thinking of advertising, maybe something like Magikal renewed or something, but I'm not sure where to start. All the previous forums I was in have DIED, and there would be no point in posting them up. The few I am on that are still alive have such strict rules like 'only the admin can advertise' it's annoying >_<

That's something that I told the newbies in our favor. Magikal is like a phoenix. It dies, but never completely, there's always some people who stick on, and then a wave comes back and it's alive again. So either I find out how to destroy those people's site or we can wait for it to die on its own. Either way, they'll be back. *nods*
And yeah, I've been on sites so bad that one of the rules was to "blindly obey all staff." I left that site in a blaze of glory and it's dead now. Fond memories there.

LMAO, and people wonder why their sites die so quickly. You're right, I had a few PM's with Dru and Gabby and they told me about how the site used to be. Sounded really awesome, and that it was swimming with people. I also heard that the DE and Order members were the ones to stimulate the site. I think we could restore it to those times, even better (I went to where there are old threads and read them. Ours top all the old ones)

It would be beyond interesting to bring back the Order and the DE's, mainly because I've had a plotline in my head for ages about Michael here, but that's beside the point. Just as long as it doesn't die.... I remember there being a new post on every board each time the page was refreshed.

*catches self drooling at the thought* I wasn't here that long ago, but it does sound awesome. Unfortunately I can't see Markise joining anything, but hey, we need some victims to protect, right? Besides, he's got friends on both sides.

I could try to speed up the DE side, but with barely anyone in, or rather the people that are in mostly don't come one, it would be near futile. I know I could play this account and Caius into this and it might give Lucretia and those surrounding her something to go on. I would say 'only time will tell' but time is really getting on my nerves >_<
