"oh" Johnny frowned in surprise and dropped her hands to her sides "But...why not?" what was he doing to her? playing games?

That wasn't at all what Dare had been expecting from the girl. He'd gotten messed with in the corridors enough that he'd just been waiting for her to pull her wand so he could cast a shield spell and get out of there. For all his height, he wasn't a fighter, except in verbal battles.
Dare looked at the girl in confusion for a moment before managing to find words. "Why would I want to fight?" he asked. And why had she suddenly stopped being so aggressive?

"why?" what was he playing at "Because you were just yelling and cursing at me, that's why. I thought that - you know, you were working yourself up for a fight. Cause I spilled your potion, though I could guess there was more to it then that..." then she added, raising her fists again "And...if you don't say sorry, i might just hit you anyway" she knew she was pushing it. He was a lot bigger then her, and just cause he didn't fight back the first time, didn't mean he wasn't going to now.
He was a big guy, if he punched - it would hurt.

Dare raised his hands again, his eyes dropping to her fist. If she tried it again, he'd catch her wrist, no question. "I was cussing because it hurt!" he said. He would have thought that would be obvious. His eye was already swelling in one corner. "I told you I'd take care of the potion, I was just letting off steam!" He hadn't expected her to hear him, though admittedly he hadn't needed to repeat himself when she'd asked what he said. He didn't apologize.

"At my expense!...Urrgg!! Look, Okay fine" she lowered her hands again "I won't hurt you, but you have to say you're sorry"

"For what?!" Dare asked incredulously. "You're the one who punched me!" He had more than enough pride in him not to grovel, at least not if he wasn't in immediate danger, and he wasn't in immediate danger right now. He was still on guard, and would be for a while.

"For saying what you did. And I know it seems like the punch was supposed to cover that, but it doesn't!" she folded her arms and waited for his apology.

"So me saying something stupid is worse than you punching me?!" Dare threw his hands up in the air with disbelief. "You're crazy! I'm going to be wearing this for a week!" he said, gesturing toward his growing shiner. "I'm not apologizing for calling you a stupid f~ing name!" Dare heard himself and threw his hands up again, then took a deep breath to try to calm himself. "Listen, why don't we call it a draw and we can both go back to what we were doing?"

Looking at him, with his hand over one eye, and looking furious, Johnny thought he looked quite handsome. And the thought made her roll her eyes. It was ridiculous how she always saw how cute someone was, even if she was completely angry at them. It made life so difficult. She still hadn't said anything, she didn't know what to say. Now that she noticed his looks she couldn't possibly continue with this. What if she wanted something else out of him. He would refuse her, thinking she was unpleasant and mean. "Okay" she shrugged.

"Okay?" Dare repeated, still in disbelief at all of this. She'd punched him for saying something stupid, tried to get him to fight, demanded he apologize to her and threatened to punch him again, and just like that she said okay? He was completely nonplussed, even as he waited for her to try yet another tactic. At least her fists were down. He could relax at least that much.

"Yeah," johnny said, smiling and softening her tone "you were right. I punched you. It's enough" she took a few steps closer to him, "don't worry about it" her smile widened as she pictured his reaction to what she was about to do; then she pounced. taking his face in her hands and planting a kiss on his lips.

Michael was on his way to the library to pick up a book for a paper he had put off throughout the holidays when he saw Dare's familiar form in front of the library. He smiled and glanced down at his hand, then quickened his steps and came up behind Dare to surprise him. He only saw the hands on Dare's face when he was a couple of feet from Dare, and his eyes widened. "Dare!" he said, freezing in his steps.

Dare had gone through a moment of pure, unadulterated shock when the girl kissed him, and for that moment, his hands had hovered in the air. Then they lowered, wrapping around the girl's slender waist and tightening to pull her away from him, a split second too late he realized when he heard Michael's voice. Still, he tried to move the girl, complete panic setting in when he knew Michael was watching.

She could feel him pushing her away, but she held on for a little bit longer, just to properly finish the kiss. When she did let go, and looked up to see what he was going to say to that, Johnny saw he wasn't even looking at her. His whole attention was focused on a boy that appeared out of nowhere and was standing there, looking back him. She felt slightly hurt at this reaction.

Michael's eyebrows came together as the girl came into view. The rational side of him said that it meant nothing, that there was no way Dare had kissed someone else when so much had happened over the holidays. They were engaged. Which only made it hurt worse when his impulsiveness only knew that he had walked up on Dare kissing someone that definitely wasn't him. Michael clenched his left hand.
