Pat raised her eyebrow at Holly's response. "Sounds like a blast." She said sarcastically. She knew all about pureblood commitments, and how much fun they could be. She was only thankful that she hadn't heard the words arranged and marriage in the same sentence from her own parents-yet.

Holly grinned happy she had met someone in the same situation as her. "Oh! You are pureblood too! Yay! I have someone to talk to about it!" Holly immedietely blushed after her small outburst. "Sorry," she mumbled. She looked down at the floor ashamed of showing so much emotion to a stranger. He father would disappove.

Pat looked at her with suspicion, not sure how Holly had known that Pat was a pureblood from that comment. Apparently her assumption was right though, and Holly was in fact a pureblood. She hadn't heard of any muggles having pre-arranged marriages lately. "Yep, that's me. Pureblood pain in my parents' rear."

"What is your last name? I must have seen you somewhere. I know most pureblood families because my father introduces me to them. I swear I have seen you somewhere." Holly tapped her forward rewinding through all the families she had met. She knew she had seen this girl somewhere before.

"It's Connelly, but I doubt you've seen me. We've lived abroad for five years near Durmstrang. So I haven't been at any of the London functions. I moved my first year, so I was too young before that." She looked at the girl who she didn't think she knew from anywhere, but couldn't be too sure. "Maybe I just look like someone else."

"Possibly... But oh well." Holly frowned, feeling she had seen the girl somewhere. The memory would just not come to mind! She twiddled her thumbs nervously and waited for a response.

"Well, where do you live? around here or somewhere else? If you were traveling through, maybe we attended a ball or some such thing together. I'm not very big on remembering faces unless I've met someone a few times." Pat offered that bit up to Holly, able to see that it was bothering her. She could have met her sometime she supposed, but honestly didn't know one way or the other.

"Oh, I live in London. Big mansion up on the hill," Holly replied. She scratched her head dismissing the thought of having met Pat somewhere. "And yes, I have been to many balls. Most recently the Halloween one in the city. I was in a Victorian gown," Holly offered.

Pat shrugged her shoulders but the movement was barely visible the way she was slouched in the couch. "I was still at Durmstrang at Halloween. That sounds like fun, was it a costume party?" She couldn't tell from the description of the dress Holly had worn. Some pureblood events were very formal with old fashioned attire while others went for the formal wizarding robes.

"Oh. Actually, it was quite fun. I ditched my mother and father and ran off with some of these guys. Sound's kind of promiscous but I did not do anything." Holly smiled, nostalgic for the old times. Being a pureblood was not bad all the time. The events could be quite fun.
(Weird. It changed my post.)

"I'm not really into the whole dressing up and playing nice bit myself. I don't really care for the dancing. My mother makes me go to them though. I usually hide from her as well. At least all my friends would have to attend as well, so we'd all find something amusing out of the prying eyes of the parents and would come back for appearances every so often." Pat thought she'd said that rather diplomatically. In truth, she couldn't stand all the frills and requirements of balls and formal dinners. She'd much rather be attending a quidditch game any day.

"Ah, I am quite a horrible dancer actually. As I said, I am terrible at quidditch and mostly anything involving my hands and feet. I could never do any type of sport." Holly noticed the librarian eyeing them and quickly pulled out a quill and some paper.

Pat turned to see what Holly had seen to react in such a way. When she spotted the Librarian, she grinned and waited to speak until the woman walked away. Once she was out of earshot, Pat continued as if the pause hadn't existed. "Well then, I guess I'm your polar opposite. I love sports and outdoors and anything active. I'd probably love dancing if it wasn't so structured and didn't involve the stiff outfits and attitudes."

"Not all dancing is like that. Some is... normal," Holly suggested. She leaned back against the couch, wondering what her fiancee was doing. Was he excited to met her? Or was he angry? "Have you had any friends with an arranged marriage before?" Holly asked.

Pat thought the change of subject was odd, but apparently it must be on her mind a lot. "Well yes and no." She started out before clarifying. "I know of people that have but they weren't close friends. My parents for one were an arranged marriage. One of my friends has had one since infancy, although she's still underage so it hadn't been performed yet. Why? Are you concerned about yours?"
