Brindle smiled a moment, then tilted her head to the side, looking up at Deimos in affected consideration.
"You aren't telling me you don't have the answer, do you?" she asked innocently. "I thought men and Ravenclaws knew everything." She was under no such delusion, actually, but in her experience, men wanted to at least pretend they were always right. Of course, so did women.

Deimos pretended to give her an affronted look. "Of course I know everything!"
He gave her a mischievous grin. "It's just that I have to sift through my wealth of knowledge first."
Drat. He just couldn't escape this.

Brindle grinned at Dei's answer, her eyes sparkling with laughter. That had been a good one. She was about to reply when her eyes caught on his smile. It took her a moment, then her eyes darted to the left, pausing on the coat rack before lifting to his eyes again. Her grin tempered into a smile.
"Forgive me for doubting you?" she teased, almost immediately blushing. She didn't know how to flirt! How was this happening?

Dei smirked, "Of course."
My, her face could certainly turn quite red. It was a rather alluring, attractive look for her, too. And why had she glanced to some place to his right....? The coat rack? What in the world could she do with a coat rack?

The conversation was stalling, and Brindle didn't know how to fix it. She murmured an overly polite thank you, but it came out a bit breathier than she'd meant it, and she found herself bringing up her wand and practicing accio again on the contents of her book bag. It was certainly safer than gazing up at him trying not to titter like an absolute girl.

Dei was starting to feel slightly awkward, too. He wasn't sure what to do now. On something of an impulse, he messed her hair up and grinned, "Keep up the good work."
He turned to leave as he said, "I think Rene's looking for me now, so...."
Even though she wasn't and he was entirely too fascinated with this new person.

Brindle's eyes widened a bit at that almost brother-like gesture, but she nodded all the same. "Yeah, you should probably find her," she said, feeling extremely awkward all of a sudden. She didn't at all like the thought that the only person who'd ruffled her hair with any kind of regularity was her father, the most patronizing male she knew.
"I'll see you around," Brindle added. She caught up her things and gave him a brief wave an smile goodbye, then walked away, wondering at everything that had happened.

Deimos was caught slightly off guard by her reaction, but nodded, "See ya." He gave her a smirk in return and dipped his head once in farewell.
He walked back off towards the dining hall, thinking about what an interesting day it had been so far.
