It seemed like Markise spent most of his time in the corridors lately. If it wasn't trying to find his way from Charms to Divination, it was trying to find his way out of some dead end on who-knew-what floor. He was fairly sure that within a couple months, he'd be able to map out the school blindfolded. Not today, though. Today, Markise wasn't lost. Today, Markise was headed for a certain empty room that he most definitely knew the location of. And he'd be fine if no one stopped him...

She was sure that she's lost. She just came to this place and start wondering around. But she was actually looking for the library. Cause books are good friends and she didn't had any other friend here. She didn't even talk to anybody yet. She was feeling a bit shy. Fear of new place and new people was in her head. So she tried to watch out this place by herself. Maybe she can find the library. Good place to spend the time, before she make any friends.
When she gave up to find the Lost library, she found out that she also lost her way back. It must be more then an hour since she was looking for someone who might tell her the way back to the great hall.
Right, left, left, left, left, right, It was like a labyrinth. Cursing the time when she started this journey she heard some weird noises, much like mumbling. OMG what was that? She thought, her heart beating fast. She haven't seen anyone around, then where did that noise came from? She didn't wanted to think, She didn't wanted to be panicked, but she was panic. She felt that the noise was following her now, or maybe that was just her imagination? It was dark and she was already walking fast, but now she almost start running... she kept looking behind and then she ran into someone and with the same force fell back on the ground.
She looked up, horrified. Her first thought was that maybe that was the source of that weird noise. But how come it can be here, it was back there She winced and asked in trembling voice, "Who are you?"

Markise had nearly toppled himself at the force of the body running into him. But somehow he'd stayed upright. He blinked at the girl, her fear obvious and highly unexpected. Since when had anyone ever been afraid of him? "Markise," he answered simply. "Who are you?" He seriously had no clue.
All of a sudden Markise's eyes widened slightly and he looked around the corridor. He hadn't gotten lost again, had he? He hadn't wandered into the dungeons again? But no, the corridor was well-lit, and not at all menacing. Still, the girl looked so scared that it put Markise on guard. He couldn't help thinking of Michael's warnings.

She gathered herself quickly...It was just a human And maybe student like her. She blushed and stood up. "Ss...someone was back there.." She said awkwardly. Then looked at the guy she asked, " This place is NOT haunted or something like that...is it? I just came here and... I think got lost in these corridors and I think someone was following me." She told everything with dry mouth. "Are you lost too"? She asked him hopelessly.
Usually when she meet new people she should make friends with them...but right now she was so scared to think about introduction.

"I'm not," Markise said. It was true enough. He knew how to get where he'd been going, and he knew how to get back to where he'd been. He couldn't have said how to get anywhere else, though. "I think there are a few ghosts around here, but they aren't bad." How had she not met Nearly-Headless Nick? The ghost had made himself out to be a welcoming party.
It was odd thinking that Markise might actually know more about Hogwarts than someone. He'd only been here a week or two, hadn't he? He shrugged the thought off. "I'm pretty sure the only place you need to watch out for in the castle is the dungeons," he said. "I hear the Slytherins can be pretty mean." Markise had no clue what house the girl was in or he never would have said that.

She was pretty relaxed by now, At least she wasn't alone now... "I know about the ghosts here, I meant about the poltergeists or... well, stuff like that." She had heard that there have been a werewolf as a teacher, But she didn't wanted to mention it. She had too much love for dark creatures. But this was the FIRST time she felt how it would feel if she ran into a werewolf IN THE CASTLE.
When the boy saidOnly place to watch out for is the dungeons, I heard Slytherines can be pretty mean. She smiled weakly, " Well, in that case, I will really have to watch out all the time. I just joined this school and Sorted into Slytherine. I hope I don't turn bad." She said with a smile. "Oh, By the way, I'm Katherine. 5th year Slytherine." She said and held out her hand to him for a hand shake. " I was in Australian Wizardry school before".

Markise's eyes widened a bit, then he dropped his gaze sheepishly. "Sorry about that," he said, then looked back at her again, taking her hand. "You're Australian, hm? You don't know A--Logan, do you?" he asked, catching himself just in time. He went by Logan, Markise needed to keep that in mind. "Forgive me if that's a stupid question, I don't know how many schools Australia has." It was a pretty big place.

She smiled "Its okay, I also heard that some Slytherines are a bit rude, But I'm not like that. Actually I'm am from Pakistan, but I was in Australian Wizardry school". She paused, thought for a moment then shook her head. "No, I dunno any Logan, sorry, AT LEAST none of that name was in my year. So which house your in? And your year"? She asked him smiling. "Oh And can you show me the way to the library? If you don't mind." She added quickly.

Markise blinked at the sudden flurry of questions, even if most of them were easy enough to answer. "Sixth year, Hufflepuff," he said, having to think about his House for a moment. They all had rather odd names, as far as he was concerned, but Hufflepuff was definitely the strangest. And their mascot, of all things, was a badger. As far as her last question, Markise gave that another moment's thought, looking around the corridor they were on and the ones that branched off it. He had no clue where the library was, actually. He wasn't about to admit it, though. "I think it's back...this way," Markise said. It looked like a promising direction, anyway. Besides, they were bound to find a clue sooner or later, weren't they? "I haven't been here long either," Markise added, hoping the disclaimer would save his pride if he was wrong.

She nodded looked toward the way Markise pointed. Would she ask him to join her with him? Would it be okay? Or maybe that guy has to go somewhere else? May be he has a class to catch? She shook her thoughts and looked at him with a smile and noticed he was... good looking. "Thanks." She couldn't think about anything else to say. It was first student she met here and it wasn't a pleasant first impression. She just hoped he join her and walked toward the direction, Markise told her, her fingers crossed. She hadn't forget the strange mumbling she heard a moment ago.

Markise had intended on going with the girl as soon as she'd asked. It didn't phase him to give vague directions to a place he didn't know the location of, but it definitely didn't sit well with his conscience to just send her off alone. He knew firsthand how easy it was to get lost in this school, considering he still didn't entirely know his way around. Markise gave one last glance in the direction he'd been headed before, then walked up next to Katherine. "I'll go with you," he volunteered. "You wouldn't want to get lost." Markise was determined not to get lost this time. Or at least not to admit it.

She felt great inside but tried not to show it on face and just smiled at him. " Thanks, that so nice of you." And start walking with him. They keep talking silently for some time, then she thought to break the ice. " So, you said your not here from long time? You too are from some other school? How long you've been here?" She wanted to ask some more questions but stopped before the guy get annoyed. People usually find her annoying, in first meeting at least. She knew that the guy don't talk much and didn't wanted him to run away cause of her bothering a lot. So she shut her mouth up and waited for the guy to answer her questions.

Markise couldn't fault the girl for curiosity, so he thought about his answer for a moment. "I've been here a couple weeks," he said. "I'm from the U.S. New York, but I went to school in California." That was the short story, at least, and the one Markise was most comfortable with. Markise looked aside at Katherine as they walked. "So if you're from Pakistan, how did you end up in an Australian school?" And then a British one? he wondered. He knew it was really none of his business, but it was conversation.

"Well, My mother is from Pakistan and she's muggle and dad's from Australia and is an Auror in Australian Ministry. I've been in a muggle school then joined my dad's old wizardry school in Australia because there isn't ANY wizardry school in Pakistan. Back there in Australia, things were getting.... out of hand. Students were in danger, They had to shut down the school. I don't know what was the cause. They just said it was important to shut down the school for some time. And that school sent the students to other wizardry schools around the world. So that's how I finish up here." She finished and looked around and noticed that corridors were getting darker.

Markise nodded absently, Katherine's rapid-fire speech a lot to take in all at once. The moment he noticed that the corridors were darker than they had been a couple turns ago, he stopped and looked back the way they'd come. This couldn't be right. He was trying to get to a larger corridor. Narrow, poorly lit corridors were high on Markise's mental list of places to avoid. "I think we made a wrong turn," he admitted. He could take the blow to his pride as long as it meant not finding his way into the dungeons again, even if he was already with a Slytherin, and a nice one at that.
