Markise opened his eyes at that, arching an eyebrow at Ariel. He told himself that Ariel was teasing, but it was still enough of a shot to his pride to sting. "I guess that's better than a no, thank you," he said. Markise shifted against the grass, switching the positions of his legs to help him dry more thoroughly. "I haven't finished with you anyway," Markise added, feeling a bit smug at saying that. No, he wasn't done with Ariel, and he couldn't imagine getting tired of unbelievable kisses and unforgettable sex, so really, it was a moot point. And a tease.

Ariel let out a dry laugh, somehow he didn't associate that phrase with Markise. Like Markise had power over him. But he did, didn't he? He had somehow gotten through Ariel's facade that he wasn't gay, and had gotten him to come back again. That was power, wasn't it? His eyes darkened slightly and he turned his eyes to the clouds. It was nice to see those clouds, when he was so used to a bright blue sky with only little wisps of clouds. "Well, I have to have something to get through the winter." His second winter, oddly enough.

"Me and a decent coat will be a good start," Markise said. His lips curved as he went on. "One to keep you warm outside, and one to keep you warm all over." It sounded like bliss to him. His eyes glittered at the thought, and he shifted as the heat of the sun began to affect his pale skin. Markise sighed, then rolled toward Ariel, nestling against him the way he had the other day in the classroom. He let one arm rest lightly against Ariel's chest, not particularly caring if it affected his tan right now, and let the other bend slightly behind him. He would at least get an even tan.

Ariel didn't care very much about getting an even tan, he didn't see himself getting very much darker anyway, laying out one day wasn't going to affect him very much. "If it's going to be as cold as you claim, you'll have to work to keep me warm," he said, looking down at Markise. He still didn't quite believe it was going to be as bad as Markise claimed, but he would go along with it.

Markise's lips curved again, and his pale eyes glittered up at Ariel's. "I'm not afraid of a little hard work," he said. He wasn't afraid of Ariel's moodiness, either. And he knew Ariel was going to be moody when he was pent up inside all day. Markise would just have to work extra hard to drag him outside, just once like he'd said the first time they'd talked about winter and snow.

"I think it'll be a little more than a little hard work," Ariel said, wondering absently how much longer he had where the water would be tolerable. It was right on the verge of being much too cold, but he could force himself to stand it, the cold was wroth it. But he couldn't say he wasn't looking forward to holing up in the castle with Markise.

"Hmm, I think I can manage," Markise said lightly. He was sure he'd have no problem keeping up with Ariel, despite the obvious strength of his libido; Markise's own seemed determined to match and challenge it, another thought that brought a smile to his lips. He was actually looking forward to the next time he caught the Snitch. Well, and hoping they could keep up the almost comfortable, teasing rapport they had going now. "If it's anything like the last time, I'll be glad to serve," he added.

"Do you think I would disappoint?" Ariel asked raising an eyebrow. What was the point if it wasn't fun? He ignored the part of his mind that insisted on reminding him of his last girlfriend at that rhetorical question. The arm closest to Markise dropped from underneath Ariel's head and fell to trail his hand lightly along Markise's back. He didn't plan on anymore disappointing experiences, for either party.

"I can't imagine it," Markise said truthfully. He wondered the same thing as Ariel, their thoughts parallel for the moment. He'd been asking himself since he and Ariel had been together in that classroom; what was the point if it wasn't good? What had been the point of being with Kwami? To make him happy? What good was it if Markise was only happy those rare times that Kwami had been in high spirits? "You really are amazing," Markise mused, shifting his fingers against Ariel's chest in echo of that pleasurable sensation at his back.

Ariel closed his eyes at those words, had he ever been called amazing? He couldn't remember ever hearing that word directed at him. He wondered if there had been any guys in the closet back at his old school, wondered if it had ever been worth it to hide it and resist. His eyes opened again and he looked down at Markise. How in the world had just one person pulled him out? He supposed that a large part of it was that his brother was nowhere close, that he didn't hear the whispers. But he would, wouldn't he? Should it get out?

Markise was content with the silence for now. His eyes opened at half mast to watch the motions of his pale fingers against Ariel's sun-bronzed skin, and he wondered why he'd ever put up with the sad excuse for sex that he'd gotten from Kwami. Ariel wasn't near the shining charmer, but when he let his guard down, it was even better. "I'm going shopping this weekend," he announced at last, as though he actually thought Ariel would be interested. "I'll be picking things out for your coat." And the other things he intended on making Ariel, but he didn't think all of that needed listed off.

"Okay," Ariel said, as though asking why on earth it meant anything to him. He didn't want the coat, he never asked for the coat, he was going to let Markise make it, though. "Do you want the money?" he asked, figuring he could at least get that painful part out of the way. He tried to pull his mind away from his previous thoughts, but it proved harder than expected to do.

"Some time before Saturday," Markise said. "I'll also need to take your measurements." Wasn't that a thought... Markise's eyes drifted down Ariel's body as far as he could see at this angle. "I'll have to get my tape measure." Markise couldn't seem to pull away just yet, though. Ariel was obscenely comfortable to lay against. As if to prove the point to himself, Markise slid one leg up Ariel's. Definitely obscene, he told himself.

"Measurements?," Ariel asked, raising an eyebrow and looking down at Markise. He definitely hadn't thought of that before, and didn't know whether or not to look forward to it. "Can't I just tell you my size?" That seemed like the easiest thing to do, really. Ariel didn't know all that went in to making clothes, but surely it could be done just knowing a size.

Markise's lips pressed tight for a moment. "You could," he said, "but it's sloppy doing it that way. It won't take very long, anyhow." Markise frowned down at Ariel's body a moment, not wanting to move, but made himself pull away all the same. He'd brought it up and he needed to just get it over with before Ariel got too far into talking him out of it.
Markise tousled his now-dry hair, then adjusted his underwear more comfortably with a few light sweeps of his fingers at the edges. Then he crossed the short distance to the neat stack of his clothes and slipped his wand free to summon his measuring tape out of the air. "You'll have to stand up," he told Ariel.
