Ariel's hands tightened on Markise's hips before he pulled them away and stepped back. "I've got to go," he murmured, reaching up and running a hand through his hair as he stared at the ground. He didn't move to leave just yet, though, pausing when he tried to move forward to try to get his head to stop spinning and his pulse back to normal. He couldn't very well go up to the castle in the state he was in.

Markise nodded, then turned to get his clothes, dusting his rear off before he pulled on his pants. "Thank you again," he said softly. "For helping me, I mean." It felt like it would be better to just not acknowledge the kiss. Ariel had been so angry the first time, so adamant, and Markise didn't want him walking away like that. It was part of the reason he'd kissed Ariel that second time.

"Even I'm not a big enough jerk to leave you out in the water," Ariel said, his hand rubbing the back of his neck as he alternated trying to push the kisses out of his mind and reliving them in vivid detail. He knew that he would be doing that for a long time coming. And he would even admit to himself that he maybe even hoped to do it again. But no, he needed time to think, to work some things out.

"Thank you anyway," Markise said, his eyes flicking uncontrolled over Ariel's body.He pulled his shirt on over his head, then brought his hands up into his hair, tousling it. "Your fly's open," he observed. He couldn't stop his lips from curving a bit, and he gave Ariel another casual look before bending to pull on his socks and shoes.

Ariel tilted his head at that, his mind completely elsewhere, fine, he was watching how Markise's hair fell, but that was elsewhere, wasn't it? It took him a moment before he looked down and, scowling, zipped up. He stuffed his hands in his pockets and paused, debating. Should he say something? Nothing came to his mind, so he shook his head slightly to break the contact of his eyes with whatever part of Markise he was watching at the moment, and started the walk back up to the castle.

Markise watched Ariel as he went, watched the motion of his body beneath his clothes, the way they moved against him. That boy was incredibly dangerous. Markise could see himself falling for him--he was deeply in lust already--but he couldn't see Ariel coming around any time soon. What was with him and emotionally distant men? First Kwami, then Dare, who had been so close to him in some ways and apparently still far away in others, and now Ariel. Markise sighed, finished strapping on his shoes, then stared out over the water, reliving everything that had happened. It was a long time before he gathered himself up and headed back toward the castle.
