Ariel glanced up, and a faint thrill of pride went through him at the look on Markise's face, he was the one helping Markise out, getting that reaction from him. He looked away before he could enjoy that look too much. "Back in fourth year I had a growth spurt," he said, moving his hands up a little past Markise's knee. "And so when I swam I would get cramps pretty often, my muscles were already stretched too far. I had to learn, and the other guys that swam would come to me if something happened." Of course, they wouldn't tell anyone, and that was really before all of the rumors started going around.

"Well I can see why, you're really good," Markise said, sighing as another knot was worked free. It was impossible not to be aware of Ariel's hands against him now, and Markise's mind started slipping again. Just a little higher... Markise's gaze lifted, following a path up Ariel's arms, wandering before reaching that beautiful, masculine face, all filled with concentration. He flexed his leg slightly, lifting it just a bit to make it easier for Ariel to reach, the pain more or less gone by now. But God, he was enjoying this.

Ariel didn't say anything to that, he had just had a lot of practice. No, he would be telling himself a lie if he thought that, he knew he was good. "Now what was priceless was when they stopped asking me to do it and started trying to get each other to," he said, his eyes sparkling with humor as he moved his hands over those spots just one more time. "They would pretend it worked just so they wouldn't have to come to me." He forced his hands away, if he didn't, he had the feeling he would have stayed there much longer.

Markise sighed as Ariel's hands left him. He felt really good now, and so he decided to focus on that, rather than being upset at it having ended. "People are idiots," Markise said. slowly stretching his leg out, then lowering his foot to the ground. "Thank you, by the way. I seriously owe you for this." He had a feeling Ariel would protest that, but Markise meant it. "Nothing you can say will make me change my mind, either," he insisted.

Ariel shrugged and shook his head, "What was I supposed to do? Just leave you out there with that Giant Squid I keep hearing about?" So he had only heard about it once or twice, when he had asked about where he could go swimming at, but considering the number of people he had talked to, once or twice was a lot. "Besides, there's nothing I want from you."

"Nothing," Markise repeated, as though bordering on the offended. "Well, if you can't think of anything, then maybe I'll have to think of something." A dangerous idea, Markise knew as he looked Ariel over as subtly as he could. "You saved me from drowning and becoming squid bait, and you fixed my leg," Markise reasoned, lifting the leg in question to make his point. "So it'll have to be something good." Markise's lips curved slightly, only partially teasing. He'd pay Ariel back if he had to pin him to the grass to do it. There's a thought...

Ariel watched that leg, his eyes trailing down it and then back up, continuing on until he met Markise's eyes again. "You can have fun coming up with something to try to pay me back with," he said, shifting off of his knees and stretching his own legs out in front of him, backing up some as he did so that he wouldn't hit Markise's. He leaned back on his hands and focused on Markise's eyes, though his own were constantly distracted by the damp blond strands clinging around his face. "But I'm not taking anything."

Markise's heart stopped for a minute, and his eyes began to haze. How could he take that as anything other than an invitation? Markise was overwarm from the way Ariel had looked at him, and now... There was no resisting a summons like that. Markise was glad they were through pretending there wasn't anything going on. His leg lowered again as he made his decision, and his eyes slipped closed. Markise leaned close, his lips parting lightly, then pressing to Ariel's.

Ariel returned the kiss, angry with himself for doing it, but unable to stop. He took control, though, deepening the kiss and leaning towards Markise, even if he didn't initiate any other contact. Somewhere, deep down, he had known exactly what he was doing, sitting like that by Markise. Somewhere, he had wanted that kiss, but he wasn't supposed to actually take it! He was supposed to stay away from it, avoid it at all costs. But no, he stayed there, kissing Markise.

Markise made a soft, nearly inaudible sound at the incredible power behind Ariel's kiss. It was Ariel's now. Markise realized that he'd only been the catalyst to something that had been building. He followed Ariel's lead, but his hands couldn't stay still. One rose tentatively and settled feather-light high on the side of Ariel's neck, just near the edge of his jaw. He felt weak already.

Ariel wasted no time, the part of him that wanted the kiss knowing that it couldn't last long, and soon found himself pressing Markise back into the grass and giving one hand leave to explore. He had never kissed a guy, had never touched a guy, he only knew that girls didn't do it for him, however much he tried to deny that fact. So his hand roamed over Markise's side, his stomach, hovered at his hip.

Markise's brows knitted, and he gave a light whimper of pleasure at Ariel's assault. He couldn't think beyond acting, and that one hand curled around the back of Ariel's neck as he clung to the kiss. His leg rose, sweeping against Ariel's, and he knew he was lost, knew there wasn't any going back from this. He couldn't stop himself. His free hand settled softly over Ariel's, encouraging, though he knew he shouldn't. Thought was nothing in the face of this.

Just as furiously as he had returned the kiss, Ariel broke it, pulling himself up angrily to go over to his clothes. He refused to let himself look over at Markise, refused to think of how incredibly good that kiss had felt, how smooth Markise's skin had been underneath his palm, the power he had felt from hearing that sound and knowing how he had affected him. Ariel jerked his shirt on, not caring if it sat a little crooked, then reached for his pants. I'm not gay. But it had felt so good, especially when he had felt Markise's leg brush against his own.

Markise gasped at the sudden end to the kiss, his mind spinning uncontrollably. He propped himself up a bit, finally locating Ariel already half dressed. "What's wrong? What did I do?" he asked. He'd been too easy, he told himself, but there hadn't really been any conscious thought involved. Markise could only think it was something he'd done, didn't connect Ariel's sudden move to the fact that, before that kiss, Ariel had kept his distance as best as he could.

"You didn't do anything," Ariel said, holding on to the waist of his pants and snapping them loose. "I'm not gay." He pushed one leg into his pants then paused, trying to catch his balance, and told himself to calm down before putting the other in. He buttoned his pants but let the rest sit as he reached for his socks. I'm not gay. But it had felt so good... Ariel refused to look over at Markise, didn't need the temptation to go back.
