"We could get one," Michael said, finally giving in and turning in Dare's arms to face him, wrapping his own around Dare, along with the sketchbook. He wasn't quite ready to let go of the sketchbook yet. Surely there was somewhere in Hogsmeade they could get one, and Michael was sure he could afford one, however much it ended up being. He felt a warm feeling spread in his chest at the idea of having one, though it was also because of the fact that Dare was going to tell someone about them, and that person was most likely going to be happy for him.

Dare adjusted himself against Michael, settling his hands against Michael's hips, then sliding them back into his pockets. Dare's gaze dropping to Michael's lips, then sliding back up his face to his eyes. He definitely wanted a picture, too. Drawings were great for capturing emotions, the mood of the moment tinted with the mood of the artist. A picture was something solid, something that just recorded what was. "I'd like that," Dare said at last.

Michael smiled, shifting slightly at the odd feeling of Dare's hands in his pockets, though it wasn't uncomfortable. "When do you want to go?" he asked, looking up into Dare's eyes. He didn't care, though since he was thinking about it he wanted to go and get it done instead of waiting for too long. And, now that he was thinking about it, he wouldn't mind having a picture to keep with him, he grinned at the idea.

"Whenever," Dare said. "Now, if you want. I'd love to go out." The idea of going out with Michael, anywhere, even to get the mail and a camera, was extremely attractive. "Do you know where we can find a camera?" Dare had no clue, but it wasn't in Hogsmeade, or he'd have seen it today. Suddenly Dare was itching to go out, to roam somewhere rather than being stuck in a room. To get some air.

Michael thought for a moment, mentally crossing out the places in Hogsmeade, "I think Grey might have them in his shop, but it's in Diagon Alley. Unless you know of somewhere here." He didn't think Dare did, or he wouldn't have asked, but there was always the chance that it could have slipped his mind. He hadn't seen Grey in months, had only ever spoken to the man two or three times, but they meant something. He had never been to the man's shop, either, but he had heard through the grapevine what all he held.

Dare shook his head. "Nowhere in Hogsmeade," he said, sure of it. "So we can side-along?" he asked. He could get his apparition license in less than a month, and he fully intended to, but for now, he'd fully enjoy side-along apparition with Michael. Dare had a flickering thought about the looks they might get, but firmly pushed them aside. He wasn't going to let a few odd looks get to him.

"Unless you want to floo," Michael said, wrinkling his nose and grinning. "I think I would much rather side-along." He went to pull away so that he could go and get his money from his bag in the bedroom, but was quickly reminded of Dare's hands, not that he had really forgotten them, just gotten used to them being there. He brought his eyes back up to Dare and rested one hand on Dare's hip, "So can I go and get my money?" he asked, raising an eyebrow and shifting slightly against the hands in his pockets.

Dare grinned, and his hands tightened, pulling Michael a bit firmer against him. "In a minute," he said. There was something he doubted Michael would let him get away with while they were out, so he wanted to do it now, and maybe again before they left the shop. He lowered his lips to Michael's to initiate a slow, plundering kiss. They had some time left before sunset, and no curfew to worry about, so he was in no rush.

Michael's eyes closed and he brought his free arm up, laying his hand lightly along Dare's jaw, his other resting around Dare's waist, the sketchbook still held protectively in his hand. No, he wouldn't let Dare kiss him in public, at least not how he was currently. He didn't want to think of people watching and judging them, and Diagon Alley was open enough that someone would see them.

Dare took his time, savoring Michael and trying to get all he could out of that kiss. He wanted to save up some of that feeling to last him while they were out. They'd been hiding in the Room of Requirement so much that he hadn't needed to hold back, and he hoped he wouldn't have trouble with the shift. Eventually the kiss wound down, and Dare let Michael go. His eyes, still hazy, lit on Michael's, and his lips curved. I love you.

Michael went to turn away, but when his eyes caught Dare's, he couldn't resist. He hooked his arm around Dare's neck and kissed him again, slowly, deeply, before forcing himself to pull away. After another grinning glance at Dare, he went to the bedroom to put his new sketchbook on a dresser and dig through his bag for his money. A minute later he came back out, that broad smile still on his face as he tucked the small pouch into his pocket.

Dare was still watching the bedroom door when Michael came back in the living room, still smiling over that last unexpected kiss. His eyes moved briefly over Michael, mentally undressing him, though he'd be hard-pressed to admit to it. When he got to Michael's eyes again, his smile grew slightly crooked. "We'd better go, before I change my mind," he said, only partially teasing. He was still buoyed from his excitement about the job, from being able to stay with Michael, and it was highly tempting to procrastinate.

Dare was tense when they got back to the apartment over the jewellery shop. A neatly tied scroll was crushed in one hand and the other was holding Michael's tightly. Dare hadn't wanted to read the letter in the Owl Post Office. He wanted to be somewhere private, wanted just him and Michael. He hadn't expected a letter from his dad so soon, and the fact that he had worried him.

Michael's hand was tight as well, and his muscles tense, though he knew that it didn't compare to how Dare was feeling about that letter. He pulled Dare over to the couch, setting the bag with the camera in it down on the small table in front of it and sitting down. He picked up their hands, lightly kissing the back of Dare's in silent support. And he remained silent, thinking that words wouldn't do him any good, he would save words until the letter had been read.
