Silver's eyes widened just a bit. "Oh," he breathed, looking between the two one more time, seeing things he'd seen before, but maybe hadn't even noticed. He released a short, but heavy breath. "Well, I wasn't expecting that," he said, the words light with just a hint of self-deprecating humor. "I don't know what I was expecting though." A thought flickered through his mind, and he glanced at Dare, then away. "I won't ask to see what's in your sketchbook, though."

Dare laughed at that, the tension draining from him in a rush. "There's nothing like that in here," he said, handing the sketchbook over. "I swear," he assured Silver. "Separate issue entirely." Dare breathed in, then let out a sigh of still-growing relief. He tensed for just a moment, then dropped his arm, letting his hand brush Michael's, an invitation if he'd take it. "So are we cool, Silver?" he asked. It looked like they were, but he figured he'd ask, if not for his benefit, then for Michael's.

Michael didn't catch what Silver meant about the sketchbook, he was too relieved that there hadn't been a look of disgust or hate to really concentrate on it. Until Dare's words, then he grinned and looked down at Dare's hand, taking it gratefully. The contact helped to fight down the leftover nerves that made his chest feel tight, though that could have been from the odd feeling of comfort mixed with wondering if either brother would feel awkward because of touching.

Silver gave Dare a look of half-insulted incredulity. "As long as you stop asking stupid questions," he said, taking the sketchbook and looking at it a moment before daring to open the cover. He winced. "Jesus, Dare, you could have warned me!" It was the guy who'd threatened to kill him if he so much as looked at a girl he'd only met once. Silver flipped to the next page, but there was nothing else in the book, so he shut it and handed it back. His eyes flickered to where Dare's hand was pressed to Michael's, but other than that, he gave no sign he'd even noticed.

Dare grinned, no attempt at innocence in the look on his face. "Aw, somehow I forgot you two aren't on speaking terms," he teased. The tension was gone, leaving Dare feeling near ecstatic. The sense of freedom in everything, not only in telling Silver, but in having Michael in the first place, in knowing Michael was, for all intents and purposes, his, and they didn't have to hide here, was incredibly lifting. Dare squeezed Michael's hand, completely absorbed in the moment.

Michael brought his eyes up to Silver and grinned, he had forgotten about Dare telling him that Silver had had an encounter with Emilian. "Emilian's not that bad, once you get to know him and agree to not take his girl." And get past all the horrible stuff he's done in the past, he added silently, but figured it would be bad form to say it and add another thing to make Silver afraid of him.

Silver's brows rose in unison. He bypassed the obvious you know him? for a disbelieving, "Somehow, I don't think that's enough." And he didn't really have an interest in getting to know the guy, either. First impressions could be powerful, and Emilian's was easily that. "Well, you guys can tell him I'm not going to take his girl." He gestured for his brother and his boyfriend, strange thought, to sit, then sat back against his abandoned tree trunk. He'd had enough of awkward hovering for now.

"I'm not telling him anything for you," Dare said, pulling Michael lightly down beside him as he sat facing his brother. "He doesn't know I'm your brother, and I'm keeping it that way, at least until his commission is done." Dare grinned at that announcement. It wasn't a paid commission, but it counted. It was only after he'd said it that everything else came back into his mind, and his grin faded. "But anyway," he said, forcibly changing the subject. "Where have you been hiding?"

Michael was glad for the change in conversation, but knowing that Silver knew and was accepting had made it to where he didn't let the subject of Emilian and Adara get him down again. He sat next to dare, absently running his thumb over Dare's hand, silently observing the two brothers. He was happy to let them talk, it saved him from trying to find something to talk about or add to the conversation.

"Ravenclaw Tower," Silver mumbled, looking down at the notebook in his hands for a moment. "And here." He didn't want to go into any more detail than that. He wasn't about to complain about his love life to Dare, especially considering he didn't really know Michael. Silver gave Dare a pointed look and hoped his brother got it and chose to leave it alone.

Dare looked at his brother one long moment, then his lips spread into a grin. "It's that girl, isn't it?" he asked. "Come on, you can talk in front of Michael, he's cool." Dare turned to grin at Michael and squeezed his hand again. "He got like, mauled by the girls when he got here, and he hasn't figure out yet that he ought to just go with it." Which, Dare knew, was because of Silver's self-esteem issues, but that didn't need said.

Michael smiled at Dare then looked over at Silver. "I swear I won't tease," he said, grinning. He remembered back when he had first come to Hogwarts and been mauled, albeit in a different ways. All of those insufferable girls trying to pull him out of his shell and prove that he needed help or whatever it was. He pushed the memories from his mind and wondered who the girl was, he knew quite a few of the girls in the school and so the chances he knew her were high.

Silver gave a long-suffering sigh. It was bad enough resisting Dare, but when it was two against one, it was far easier to cave than to try arguing. "I met her at the masquerade," he confessed, his head down just low enough that his hair shielded him a bit. "I didn't know who she was at first, but...I kissed her." That alone was a confession, but Silver went on before he lost his nerve. "Then I saw her in the Common Room, and she didn't know it was me, but she figured it out, and she kissed me, and I kissed her back, but it's driving me crazy, because she has a boyfriend. Sort of." Silver gave a shrug, trying to brush it off as less of a deal than it felt like.

Dare's eyes widened. "You're sh~tting me!" But no, he could tell Silver was dead serious. Dare nearly crowed with laughter, but managed to tamp it down to a wide grin. "It was Dru, wasn't it? I told you she was into you! You'll listen to your big brother next time, won't you?" It was too rich; as far as Dare knew, that was Silver's first and second kiss, within two months of meeting the girl. And he was freaking out over it. Figured. "Chill, Silver. You're cool, just chill."

Michael was about to say something to Silver, but it was completely swept away when Dare gave the girl a name. "Wait, like, the Dru from the club?" Duh, Michael, how many other Ravenclaws named Dru are there? He shook his head, "Sorry, who else? She's obsessed with that bastard Chase. If you can get her away from him, props to you." He would forever look up to Silver if he could pull Dru away from Chase where he had failed.
