Dru smiled and nodded, "Alright." She knew that it would end up more, and she was, she would admit, looking forward to it. It would be an obvious lie to say that she didn't enjoy being with Chase. Even though her mind travelled back to Silver every so often, it wasn't enough to make her not want to be with Chase.

Chase's smirk curved into a smile, made wolfish by the crimson sheen teasing at the edges of his eyes. He pushed to his feet, pausing a moment to stretch muscles still slightly tense, then offered Dru his hand to help her up. He was already looking forward to entering the room of requirement, but he was enjoying the conversation enough not to give it up just yet. "So, what have you been doing without me?" he asked mildly.

Dru took Chase's hand, hoping he wouldn't mind that she didn't let go when she was on her feet. She looked away from him at his question, certain that he would see Silver's name written in her eyes. "Nothing, really, been staying in the common room a lot when I'm not at the club." Perhaps she was looking for Silver, or maybe she was just trying to push more free time on herself. "You?" she asked, more a habit than a real need to know, she believed what he had told her that night, but she was still unsure, just like she had always been.

Chase was thankful that Dru hadn't been looking at him when she asked her question. His eyes shifted out toward the grass, reflexively trying to hide the flicker that would give him away. "Thinking," he said honestly. He had only been with Annabelle that one night, but he had been thinking about it ever since, trying to work out how she'd gotten so close to breaking him when he'd been so sure he could resist. Nothing more than a kiss. But it had been.
Chase gave Dru's hand a light tug and headed off into the grass, back toward the castle. "It seems like it's been quiet around here," Chase said, hoping the comment sounded like a continuation of what he'd said before. He didn't want her to think too much on what he'd been thinking about.

Dru nodded absently, though she thought it was a fake quiet. Instead of physical fights breaking out, instead of wars out in the open, everything seemed to be held inside. At least on her side everything seemed held in. "Everyone's figuring everything out finally, I guess," she said softly as she walked with him. Perhaps it was the truth, but only so because it was now her turn to have a choice to make.

Figuring everything out. "Somehow I doubt that," Chase said, thinking out loud. "I prefer to think they've all just disappeared and left us in peace." If that was a cruel thought, or a heartless one, he didn't particularly care. He'd lost interest in people in general, and in the games they played, even if he'd played them himself. "Do you ever wish that?" he asked, hardly aware that he had.

"Yeah, sometimes," Dru said, though she couldn't imagine not being with her friends. Then, with a start, she realized how little time she had been spending with her friends. She couldn't remember seeing Michael since her and Chase had broken up. Silver had really been the only one she had spoken to since being with Chase.
