Cassie sighed as she walked into the library. She gave the librarian a tired smile and went off to find a table to dump her bulging bag on. It was stuffed full of books as Cassie had been rather neglectful latetly. She set it down with a sound of relief and sat down in one of the chairs. Pulling her books out she sorted through her assignments and groaned as she realised she needed to find several more books for one of them. She stood up and began to wander through the library, trying to find them.

Dru was tired, but extremely happy and satisfied with how the night before had went. The paper, still unread, was tucked under her arm along with a couple of books that she needed to turn in. She had planned to just drop them off and leave, but when she saw Cassie she decided to go over and talk. "Lot of work due tomorrow?" she asked, in a tone that was probably a tad more peppy than someone that looked as frazzled as Cassie wanted to hear.

Cassie looked up from where she had been crouching to look at a book and stood up, pulling it off the shelf as she did. She caught sight of the paper tucked under Dru's arm and her stomach plummeted, she had recieved her copy earlier and they had not been very nice about Cassie. She supressed a shudder and nodded at Dru, words not forming straight away. "Yeah, I've been dancing too much I think" Cassie said, not looking Dru in the eye, but turning to go back to the table she had been at before. At least they were in the library so Dru couldn't shout as loud as she could have done outside.

It didn't register that Cassie was acting strangely as Dru followed her. "Extracurriculars can do that to a person," she said, sitting down at the table without thinking to ask if it was alright and setting the paper down. She felt as if she were glowing, her eyes were sparkling, she really was happy. "I know the club got in the way in the beginning, but it didn't take long to get into the swing of things."

Cassie nodded, still not looking up at Dru, she had been waiting for Dru to grill her about sleeping with Chase, but it hadn't come. Cassie looked at the paper, it didn't look like it had even been opened yet. She sighed wth relief, maybe there was a way for Dru to not find out whilst she was sitting right next to Cassie. "Mmmm, I jsut haven't found the right balance yet I guess" Cassie murmured as she pulled a quill and some ink out of her bag and began to write one of her overdue assignments.

"If you want me to go, just tell me, alright? I know how it is trying to catch up on all that stuff." Dru smiled at her and opened the paper, the front said there was a new gossip column and she was interested to see what all it said. There was a sense of foreboding when she flipped to the page with Gaby's name on the top of it, but she didn't think much of it as she started to read.

Cassie watched as Dru flipped through to the gossip column Cassie herself had read only hours before. She grimaced, but didn't say anything, hoping recklessly that Dru just wouldn't see the bit about Cassie. She gave up trying to write as her hand was shaking so instead she busied herself with flipping through the book to find the sections she needed for other work.

I am also sure that Cassie, Storm, Marisol, Brooke and Vannah are enjoying the attention they are getting from the school's bit of hot stuff. Dru didn't read any farther, she couldn't if she tried. Her throat had closed up and he chest was tight. Yes, she knew that Chase was with other girls, she had agreed to it, right? But knowing it and seeing it written out like that were so different. He had went back to Storm? It shouldn't have surprised Dru, seeing that name on the list hurt worse than any of the others, even seeing Cassie's on it. Without reading the rest of it, Dru ripped out the page and crumbled it up, throwing it off to the side, unable to speak.

Cassie flinched as Dru tore out the page. Her hands started to shake even more, now her whole body was trembling. "Dru" she whispered softly, she didn't know the words that would make it better, that would stop the pain or make her forgive Cassie. "I'm sorry, so sorry" she whispered, her eyes that dark green which betrayed her embarassment.

"Don't say sorry when we both know you don't regret it," Dru managed, putting her head in her hands. "You don't even know why I'm like this." She took a few shaky breaths, trying to push away the feeling in her chest. You knew he was with them when you agreed to it. "Give me a minute...." she said, closing her eyes and running her fingers into her hair.

Cassie opened, then shut her mouth, it was true, she didn't really regret sleeping with Chase, it had been an easy option, sex with no emotional baggage. She sighed, wiping her sweaty palms on her cloak. A thought came to her, she had been getting hints the whole time she had known them all. "It was Storm wasn't it, Lucretia" Cassie said softly, naming the person she thought had caused this effect on Dru.

Dru groaned into the desk, "I had hoped he wouldn't go back to her, I knew he would, though." She looked up at Cassie again, taking a breath. "I didn't tell you everything about that night. We didn't just kiss...and after we agreed....and last night he was at the club....and..." nothing she said made much sense, she was leaving out so much. How was she to explain when she herself didn't even understand?

Cassie sighed, trying to figure out what Dru meant when she hit on an idea. "You had sex with him, and then you decided to go out but not be exclusive" Cassie suggested, that sounded like something Chase would do after her talk with him in the pub.

Dru nodded, "I knew he would be with other girls, but that," she gestured over at the crumpled paper ball on the floor, "Was too much. I just...I care about him, and I know that he-" She stopped and looked down, feeling as though she didn't have the right to tell anyone what she thought about that something. Especially not someone who was on that list of girls.

"I don't regret sleeping with him" Cassie admitted, knowing there was no point in trying to lie to Dru. "But I do wish that you weren't hurt by it. It was just sex with me. I have no idea if that makes it any better, sex with no strings attatched." Cassie said softly, looking at Dru to see how she would react.
