Cassie raised an eyebrow at Chase. "If you're worried I'll blab, don't be. I managed to conceal the fact that I have magic to an entire college for years." she said, reassuring Chase. Cassie smiled at Chase, looking up at him from under her lashes. "Well" she said, slipping her hands into his back pockets comfortably. "what other things might they have been?" she asked. Her words were innocent but her tone and manner certainly weren't. Her body was pressed closely to Chase's again and she could feel the soft rise and fall of his chest with each breath.

Chase was perfectly content to let Cassie distract him, and his lips curved into a somewhat wolfish smile. He leaned close, whispering his suggestions in Cassie's ear, then brushing his lips against the edge of her ear. It was too late to take back what had happened, and to be truthful, given the opportunity he wouldn't take it back anyway, so there was no use worrying, and no use holding back. He may as well enjoy himself, and if there were consequences, he'd deal with them later.

Cassie listened to Chase, laughing softly to his suggestions. She leaned back a little and thumped him gently on the arm. "Now now, calm down" she said mockingly, when in truth all she wanted to do was let him carry out those suggestions again. Her expression grew serious, although it never made it into her eyes, which were as bright as emeralds. "well, you did well to keep up earlier," she said, referring to the dance. "That's a very big turn on" she said softly, her tone grave with only a small hint oh humour.

Chase's wicked grin didn't fade, and his eyes gleamed crimson to Cassie's emerald. "What can I say, I'm a dancer at heart." He shifted slightly against Cassie, a purposeful arch of his body that hinted at a different kind of dance, one that had, naturally it seemed, simply flowed from her own dance. "It's all about finding the rhythm, right?" Humor rippled in his voice; he knew he was laying it on thick, but that was half the fun.

Cassie smiled back, her lips soft and supple. She leaned into his so her cheek lay against his so she could whisper in his ear. "Right, and generally, the stronger and faster, the better" she said, her breath hot on his cheek. She let one of her hands trail up his back and lift his shirt up slighlty so she could rest her hand against his skin.

"Mmm, not always. It's not a race to the finish every time," Chase said, his concentration shifting a little from verbal parlay to sensation. "There's as much to be said for a slow dance." One of Chase's hands slipped low into the dip of Cassie's back, and the other rose, capturing her hand as he guided her into one of the dances he'd been forced to learn by his parents. It was a waltz, allegedly very staid and correct, but if the rules of the dance were bent just a little, it was also very intimate. He always bent the rules.

Cassie nodded in agreement and let Chase whisk her round in the waltz. Cassie's training had included ballroom, which let her ignore her feet and concentrate on Chase. Her lips curved into a blissful smile and her eyes sparkled. Sher let her hand rest lightly on his shoulder and her fingers just reached the back of his neck, where she stroked his skin softly, teasing him. Cassie let her body drift closer to Chase's ignoring the proper decorum often insisted upon in ballroom. She leaned in and kissed him on the corner of his mouth, tempting him.

This was a dance Chase knew, and his feet moved effortlessly, keeping the steps without a thought. That left him free to bring his lips against Cassie's, to part them and capture hers. Assured of his welcome, he swept into her mouth, a slow, sensual kiss nothing like the raw power of their first kiss. Still, the tension was there, in the restrained motions of the dance, the knowing slide of his tongue. The desperation of their earlier journey had been sated, and he had the patience to take his time.

Cassie felt the heat grow in her body and she responded to Chase's kiss in the manner of the dance, romatic and gentle, not pressuring and not rushing, they had all the time in the world. For now at least. She curled her free arm round his neck, losing the rigid structure that had been drummed into her. She broke the kiss and murmured, "How talented, kissing and dancing" wickedly, her lips curved into a smile.

Chase grinned at the tease. "I can also walk and chew gum," he quipped. "I'm very talented. Of course, you already knew that." He brushed suggestively against her as he pulled her into a turn around the edge of the clearing. Life was good, right now. He was talking to Dru again, talking to Storm again, and now Cassie. Each girl brought something the others didn't, and the balance was exactly what he needed.

"I don't think you've seen my full potential yet" she said softly, letting Chase read that comment as he wanted to, it could refer to any number of things. Cassie smiled as Chase brushed against her. They weren't just dancing in the physical sense, their words and actions also spoke of the pattern they were weaving together. Cassie let her hips sway, her pelvis sweeping past Chase's body, just long enough to make it felt. Cassie closed her eyes, letting Chase lead her round. This was what she had needed, a release of all the tension but with none of the complications that came with both Jacob and Julius.

Chase felt no need to reply to Cassie's words. The motion of the dance spoke for itself, the motion of their bodies with and against one another. Really, there was no need for words. It felt like they both wanted the same thing; release without unnecessary complication. Life was complicated enough. They moved in silence, Chase enjoying the movement, the warmth of her body and the lingering taste of the kiss, feeling strangely at peace.

Cassie realised that they had reached the stage where words were not neeeded. They just confused matters and their bodies were speaking their own language as it was. She let her body ripple, sometimes brushing against Chase's in an intimate manner and at other, upholding the rules set in ballroom by letting a gap grow between then. Cassie felt at peace, she was dancing in the arms of the man, something that hadn't happened for months and she could feel the tension drain out of her body as she moulded herself to Chase.

It was easy, like the dream he'd imagined himself in all along. No explanations, no effort, just sharing the moment. Chase brought his lips to Cassie's again, resuming the slow kiss, adding sensation to sensation so that neither overpowered the other, but accented one another. Eventually he slowed to a stop, letting the kiss he'd initiated do the same. The sun was beginning to lower, and the rays shining through the trees were growing weak. "We ought to get back to the castle," he said. He was relaxed now, at ease, and he was ready to let the dream go.

Cassie looked up to the fading sunlight then back at Chase. "You're right, the magic won't last much longer" she agreed softly. She smiled at Chase and smoothed her hair. Cassie felt that if she tried to label their relationship, or what had happened today then it would spoil it, so she just waited to see what Chase would say.
