A low, almost inaudible groan rose from deep in Chase's throat. He struggled a moment, something in the back of his mind telling him he ought to think about what he was doing. The rest of him was focused on the tree he'd backed her against and the feel of her body pressed to his. He broke off the kiss with a gasp, his hands tightening at her waist. "Do you know what I want to do to you?" he managed, eyes blazing crimson-edged. This was her chance to stop him.

Cassie smiled softly at Chase, surrendering herself to his power, her eyes a blazing emerald. "I can guess" she said, her voice barely a whisper. She let her fingers trace circles on the back of his neck lightly. She could feel his weight as he pressed her against the tree, but the thought that Cassie was under his control just made her want him more.

A shiver skated up Chase's spine, then pooled low in his abdomen as tension and heat. "Is it what you want?" he asked, his tone low and husky. What was going on here? She really didn't seem the type to fall into bed with someone she'd barely met. And what was wrong with him that he hadn't simply kept going? Chase's hands firmed again, then released to slide up Cassie's body as his head dipped his lips a light caress against the crook between her neck and jaw. "Tell me to stop," he whispered.

"Speed up" she whispered as she closed her eyes. With those words she was giving Chase the permission to do as he wanted with her. She made a soft noise at the back of her throat as she caressed her neck. She ran her hands down his back and let them slide under his shirt so they were on his skin. Cassie;s skin was on fire and Chase's touch was electric. Deep down part of her was suprised that this was happening, but Cassie squashed it down as she knew for sure this time she wanted it to happen.

There was no arguing with a plea like that. Chase let thought go, let himself go, savoring Cassie and the freedom she'd given him. He'd stepped into a dream when he'd entered the clearing, and the dream went on, through soft rushes of pleasure and heat, mindless waves of physical desire, until he found himself slumped against her, their bodies still entwined. Still, even with the act complete, afterglow conspired to keep reality at bay. Chase brought his lips to Cassie's, kissing her, and drawing them out of the spell woven around them.

Cassie let herself be pulled along by the sensations, feelings and raw energy that they shared and passed between each other. Cassie felt her mind shut down as she gave over to her body, her spine tingled and her heart raced. But she was experiencing emotions more abstract than that. She felt as if she was floating over the trees, having been released. Cassie smiled, basking in the glow left from the heat between them. She returned his kiss, sharing the last of the magic with him. She broke the kiss of and rested her head against the tree. She rose an eye brow and looked at him, a sly smile on her face. "My my..." she said softly, as she pushed her blond hair out of the way of her eyes.

Chase's lips spread into a wide, wolfish grin, and his eyes gleamed with laughter. "Your what?" he teased, playing on her words. He watched the motion of Cassie's hand against her hair, and his own hand rose, spearing into the thick locks. His eyes followed his fingers as they swept through, enjoying the feel of her. He thought about saying more, but couldn't come up with many cohesive thoughts. His blood was just beginning to cool, and his mind hadn't quite woken yet.

"Glad to see you're respectful to your superiors" Cassie said, her voice soft and teasing Chase. She reached out and stroked a lock of hair out of his face. She smiled at him, and stretched her lithe body. She hooked her arms comfortably round his waist, keeping him near her. She didn't ask for anything else from him and didn't try and force herself on him. They had been caught up in the magic of the forest and Cassie was fine with that for the moment. "Is it a habit of yours to come and take unsuspecting maidens in the forest?" she asked innocently, yet the sparkle in her eye gave her away.

Chase had been about to reply to her superiors comment, but her question preempted it, and he laughed. His lips opened for a reflexive no when he thought of Storm. His mouth clamped shut for just a moment before he smirked, his eyes glittering. "Maybe," he said, his answer light and teasing, but true all the same. He'd been about to pull away, too, to straighten his clothes and regain his bearings, but with her arms around him, he decided to let himself be trapped, for a moment or two longer, at least. "Is it a habit of yours to entice unsuspecting men through dancing?" he asked.

Cassie thought for a moment and an answer came to mind. "Yes I think so, many a man has been ensnared by my body" Cassie said seriously. She looked into Chase's eyes her eyes laughing as her lips twitched into a smile. "Therefore, maybe neither of us are as unsuspecting as the other hoped." Cassie said lightly, suddenly releasing Chase and stepping away from him. She righted her clothes and smoothed her hair down as she fastened her cloak around her neck and slipped her shoes one. She turned to Chase once she looked respectable again. "Yet we both wear masks for society, so many never see our true nature" she said lightly, her words a double edged sword of jest and truth.
"Well Chase" she started then froze. ~Chase? Chase! Oh what have I done, Dru is going to kill me!~ Cassie silently berated herself yet she couldn't tear herself away from him. A sense of dread and guilt swept over him. She would never be able to explain this to Dru. She moaned and managed to turn away, not caring what Chase thought.

Well, at least he knew that she'd recognized him, even if that wasn't quite the response he'd have hoped for. All he knew about Cassie was that she'd met Reed that day in the Room of Requirement. His hands worked deftly to tug his clothes into their rightful places, even as he watched her, wondering why she'd suddenly looked...uncomfortable, to say the least? "Not regretting it already, are you?" he asked, just enough tease there to put a thin layer of humor over the question. He didn't regret it, but then, he couldn't think of a single reason he should.

Cassie turned back to Chase, smiling and she kissed him lightly. "No, it's jsut" she said, "Dru is going to kill me" she said finally, wondering what Chase would say to that. "Other than the whole 'my life is nearly over thing'" she said cheekily. "It was pretty good." she said smiling slyly at Chase. So it had been better than pretty good, but there was no reason to tell him that, was there?

Now it was Chase's turn to freeze. He stood rooted to the spot, hands paused in the motion of smoothing down his shirt. Dru is going to kill me. "You know Dru?" Chase's stomach churned at the thought. There was no way this could turn out well. You're not together anymore, he reminded himself. Still, the thought persisted. If she found out...somehow he'd imagined that he could do whatever he wanted and she wouldn't hear about it, a ridiculous thought; she'd known what he was up to before they'd been together, why wouldn't she know now? Everything else that Cassie had said was lost to that one thought. Dru was going to find out.

"Of course I know Dru" Cassie said irritated, "We're in the same house aren't we." She took a few paces then stopped, turning back to Chase. "We're not close though, we've chatted a couple of times but that's all" Despite herself Cassie smiled, it seemed as though she was trying to tell Chase her relationship with Dru was innocent. Cassie sighed, the smile slipping from her face quickly and ran her hand through her hair as she moved towards Chase. She reached out her hand, as if to touch him on his arm, but thought better of it and let it drop to her side. "Look, nobody knows what happened today. We don't have to tell anyone. How will Dru find out?" she asked softly. "Today was, good, great. Why should anything spoil it?" she said, moving closer to Chase, but not touching him, giving him to the choice to walk away or stay.

The worry in Chase's eyes faded a bit, only to be replaced with skepticism. He didn't know Cassie nearly well enough to decide if he trusted her. Hell, he'd trusted Storm, and she'd gone and told Emilian, of all people. Still, what choice did he have? The idea of obliviating her memory was completely ridiculous. He'd just wait and see if anything happened, and deal with it. "I didn't know you were in the same house," he said at last, dragging himself back to the conversation. "My mind was on other things." He shifted toward Cassie, letting his arms slip around her waist.
