"It's rare you'll hear of an innocent occasion from me." Emilian ran his finger along the rim of his drink. Even the memories including Michael weren't that innocent, though in a much different way. "I never was one for innocent games." No, his games were far, far from it.

Cassie watched his finger trail around the rim of his glass. Only recently had Cassie found out about the less innocent, as Emilian put it, games. At this point, Cassie wasn't sure what she preferred and she was in dangerous waters talking about the games that went on at night in the shadows. She sighed and looked away, letting her hair cover the painful expression on her face. Cassie closed her eyes briefly, trying to forget, something she had been doing a lot of recently.

"Am I making you uncomfortable?" Emilian asked, looking back up at her, his eyes sparkling just a little. "Do you still want to know about my younger days?" He could always elaborate on that day with Mano and that girl, if Cassie asked. Somehow he doubted that she would.

Cassie fixed a smile on her face and turned to Emilian. "No" she replied simply, not wishing to elaborate. She leaned her elbows on the table as her smile slowy became less forced. "Go on then, tell me more about you younger days" she said, encouraging Emilian to talk about himself.

"Well what would you like to hear? You know, there was this one girl that you bear a striking resemblance to," Emilian said thoughtfully, remembering. Remembering was helping him momentarily forget about Adara. Though it wasn't really forgetting, it was more of a covering up of the day's events. The second he was pulled from his memories it would all come crashing down on him again, so for the moment he let himself fall back a few years.

Cassie grinned and tilted her head to one side. "Oh really, well what was she like then? What happened?" Cassie asked, she knew that if something hadn't gone on between them then Emilian would not have remembered. Cassie was glad that Emilian was, for now, willing to do the talking and just let Cassie listen.

Emilian sat, remembering, for just a minute more before speaking. "She was one that I actually didn't meet at a ball, another girl told her about me and she came looking for me at the Hardt's place. Michael wasn't very happy about that," he added, a little grin coming over his features. "She was good, I saw her three...no, four times, that alone says something. I remember when she got her belly button pierced." His eyes glinted, that had definitely added something.

Cassie laughed at the story, glad that the focus wasn't on her. Then she picked up on something and sat up, curious. "Who's Michael?" she asked, pretty sure he hadn't mentioned her before.

"He's an old friend of mine," Emilian said, "I stayed over at his house most of the time." He planned on leaving it at that, while thinking of Michael wasn't the same as it used to be now that Emilian had Adara, Michael was still a bit of a sore point that he refused to talk about with Cassie.

Cassie felt something in Emilian's manner change so she decided to not push him about Michael for now. "Ok, so did this girl do well because hse held yuor attention several times?" she asked, laughter softening her voice.

"She did well because she did whatever I said, I know how to have a good time. You have it wrong, it's the other way around, she held my attention because she was good." Emilian was quickly getting tired of the conversation and Adara was flooding back into his mind, making the numbness go away and quickly replacing it with renewed frustration.

Cassie sat back, sensing that Emilian's ease had been replaced by something else, more dangerous for Cassie. She took a sip of her drink, remaining silent to see if Emilian was going to talk or if it would finally be time for her to leave.

Emilian took another long drink, his mind lost once more as he went over everything that was said and done earlier in his living room, tuning out everything else. Abruptly he set his drink down on the table and stood. He didn't say anything to Cassie, only walked away, his hands tucked into his pockets. Where in the beginning sitting in the crowded place had helped him, he had begun to feel tense and needed to walk it out.

Cassie just let Emilian go, knowing that if she spoke to him, then he would probably jsut get worse. She sat there for a few more minutes, absorbed in thought as she finished her drink. She then left the pub and returned to the castle.
