"I'm not looking for entertainment" Cassie retorted, her voice sharpening and her eyes showing her displeasure as they rippled to a stormier grey. "And i wouldn't entertain myself with you" she said disdainfully just before she took another sip of her butterbeer. Something about Emilian rubbed her up the wrong way and Cassie was close to losing her temper, something she hadn't done for a while.

"Oh really," Emilian said. On a normal day he would have taken her up on that as a challenge. As it was he just took a large drink and examined her silently for a minute. "So what does it take to entertain you?" he asked, anything to get his mind off of the day's events. Even though Adara had said she would come back, there was a nagging feeling that he couldn't get rid of that she wouldn't.

Cassie scowled briefly, this was not a conversation she wanted to be having with Emilian. Cassie decided to play the fool and act as if she hadn't understood entertainment. Cassie smoothed her face and smiled brightly at Emilian. "A dance, a good voice" she said shrugging.

"Well, I'm a rather good dancer," Emilian said, and would have grinned, had his muscles not forgotten how to do so. "Pity I don't sing though." His eyes darkened at her, though for no reason of hers, he figured his mood wouldn't leave any time soon, it would probably hover over him until the next time he saw Adara and they, hopefully, truly made up.

Cassie smiled at Emilian's boasting. "It's a shame" she said absently in reply. Cassie didn't pick up on Emilian's mood as she was caught up, again, it her recent behaviour, a small frown appeared on her face as she went over things for the hundreth time that day.

Emilian went silent, glaring down once more at his hand. He didn't think he had ever been so miserable, why did he have to give in to that woman? Why was it that the one person he had come to trust and care for was the only person he had been with that wanted to push him away for what he had done? He clenched his hand on the table.

Cassie sighed, pulling her hair out of the way she turned to look at Emilian. "Look, I'm not interested in waht your problem is, but you obviously have one." She started. "You're miserable so you should do whatever it takes to make it right." she continued. She took a sip of her butterbeer, waiting for his reaction.

"Yeah, that's great advice, other than the fact that I've already tried," Emilian said, a fake grin on his face as he rolled his eyes. "Cheers to the help, anyway," he said, lifting his drink towards her and then taking a sip. He set it back down, running a finger absently along the glass rim.

Cassie smiled at his reaction, she had thought something like that was coming her way. "Put yourself out there, don't just tell her, show her" Cassie elaborated, guessing he had women problems. "Send her flowers, write a poem" She suggested, although she couldn't see Emilian doing either, it was worth a mention.

The look Emilian gave Cassie could very well have caught her on fire or shot straight through her. Flowers was something Emilian could definitely see himself doing, although he probably wouldn't because he couldn't imagine Adara walking into her common room to a bed of flowers, it would be a tad too cheesy for his tastes. And Michael was the one that would write poetry if either of them did. "Yeah, I don't see that happening." The way he spoke was meant to force her to shut up and drop it, even if he doubted it'd happen.

Cassie sat back in her chair and shrugged. "Fine then, stay miserable." she said casually. Cassie looked down at her fingernails, positively bored by now, but her parents had taught her manners so she sat in silence, ignoring Emilian's presence.

Emilian rolled his eyes and resisted throwing his glass at Cassie. His hand clenched tellingly around the glass. He sat for a minute in angry silence before he spoke, "You know, I'm not making you stay." He glanced pointedly at her hands where she wasn't even attempting to hide that she no longer wanted his company, but he didn't plan on leaving any time soon.

Cassie glanced down at the tiny movement of Emilian's hand on his glass. "No wonder you're miserable" she mused. "Now me sitting here, is obviously annoying you, but i do suggest you don't throw your glass at me. It's not gentlemanly and I'm sure you wouldn't want your lady friend to hear about it" Cassie said sweetly, carefully watching Emilian for any movement, her wand close at hand.

Emilian raised an eyebrow and glared at Cassie. Sure, he could leave, but he really didn't care to get up and move, he was slowly progressing to numbness instead of anger and exhaustion. "With everything I've done, throwing a glass is the least of my, or her, worries."

Cassie was unfazed by Emilian's dark look. "It could soon be your biggest" Cassie replied casually. She knew her wand was inches from her grasp. But she wouldn't do anything unprovoked, and Emilian was stupid if he provoked her.
