Emilian let out a bark of laughter that held no humor. "Give me a break, if throwing this would be the worst thing I've done, or the biggest, whatever, she'd be in heaven." Throwing that thing wouldn't have done anything to make him seem like a worse person to her.

Cassie arched an eyebrow at Emilian, interested in his sudden laughter. "She'll probably get there anyway. Why she wastes her time on you I don't know. Maybe there is some shred of goodness under that tough skin." Cassie said off handedly. She twirled a lock of hair around her finger, letting her mind wander.

"Weren't you the one saying that there has to be a heart in here somewhere?" Emilian asked, finally reaching that numb stage. He wasn't aggravated with Cassie any more, he really didn't care about anything. Although if Adara crossed his mind he'd probably get knocked out of it again.

"probably" Cassie said, not caring that she was contradicting herself. "Then again, I could be wrong. I'm definitely not perfect" she commented. Cassie drained her butterbeer, but didn't move to get up. Something kept her sitting there and she didn't know what it was.

"You," Emilian said, motioning for another drink, "Are a strange girl." He tipped his drink to her and then finished it off. In more ways than one. She wasn't angry with him, when she should have been, but of course, she also should have left when she figured out who he was. Who in their right mind read that interview, believed it, and still stayed in his company? The fact that Adara had done those things was glossed over.

Cassie smiled at Emilian's comment. "Nothing I haven't heard before. Then again, I didn't exactly grow up normally. I'm guessing you didn't either." Cassie said as she recieved a refill. She took a sip from her glass and replaced it on the table. "I act how I wish, I don't really mind what other people think of me." Cassie said, and it was true, she had been laughed at and ridiculed in the past, but it had never stopped her.

"I'm under the impression that everyone thinks that their upbringing wasn't normal. Now, me," he said, picking up a new glass. "While I knew that not everyone was as privileged as me, I thought I had quite the normal life, everyone around me grew up just like I did." Emilian shrugged and took a long drink, enjoying the slight burn from the liquid going down through his body.

"I grew up in a wealthy family." Cassie started. "I know I was lucky, I had everyting i wanted, I didn't have a brother or sister to fight with and my family doted on me. I was their little angel." Cassie said, briefly descrbing her early childhood. "Then I was sent to a muggle boarding school, a performing arts college, I was taught magic in my spare time by my parents. I lead two lives and it was hard, I was working twice as hard as anyone else. Then I came here" Cassie said finishing her tale. She took a sip of her drink, just waiting dor Emilian to pull it all apart.

"So you did what every single muggle-born does from the time they're eleven." Emilian raised an eyebrow. "Other than being wealthy, you're no different than the majority of them. I fail to see your point." If she thought he was going to outline his childhood, she was wrong, if he felt like it, and she asked the right questions, he's give her some things, but not much, and especially not much before he was around fourteen.

"I had to keep half my life secret." Cassie said. "I didn't have parents. I had teachers." She added, not really caring how Emilian viewed her life, he hadn't done it had he? "So what happened when you were a kid, do you have any brothers or sisters?" Cassie asked, running her finger round the edge of her glass.

Emilian rolled his eyes, did she not realize how many kids thought their lives where like hers? "No, only heir to the throne, you could say. No one trying to kill me for the money," he said, his eyes sparkling slightly with a trace of humor. Yes, he would inherit quite a bit of money, but that was all that he had had going for him, Michael had been the pride and joy of the families.

Cassie sai back, amused at what a simple question could do. "I see, sounds pretty relaxed, so who did you grow up with, or were they all just adults?" she asked, slightly curious as to finding out about the boy Emilian.

"When I got older there were girls," Emilian said, unable to stop his eyes from gleaming. But it didn't light up any more of his face because that was what had driven that wedge in between him and Adara. He took a drink, staring into the liquid when he set it back down. "Beautiful girls," he added, wondering if she'd catch the implications.

Cassie grinned, "Even at such a tender age you were a womaniser" Cassie said, almost sorowfuuly as if he had been corrupted or something.

"Am I a womanizer if they want me?" he asked, looking at her. "Every one of them knew that they were lucky to get one night, much less anything else, they had seen me at the other balls and things." Emilian tried to push Adara to the back of his mind and promptly failed, she had known, and it wasn't like he didn't want her again, he did. His hand tightened around the drink.
