Gabby flciked her wand again, this time sending out several orbs of light to hang around the room. With her last flick though, she used a weak protective spell which would block the first spell sent at her, giving her the second she needed to react.

Vannah pointed her wand towards the ceiling. " Confringo!" She said lazily. It had enough power to kill all of the orbs. "You're forgetting, little girl, I am a fully trained witch." She sneered. |

Gabby sneered, "You're forgetting I'm not far behind you, anger and jealousy can blind people Vannah" Gabby said, sending out even more orbs and setting a fire to roar in the empty fire grate. Gabby stengthened her shield slightly as well.

"Not far, eh? Three years is pretty far..." Vannah said. "But if you think differently, I'd like to see you try. Go on, send me a curse or whatever." She said a smile playing on her lips. This was bringing her great pleasure.

Gabby looked Vannah in the eye, twirling her wand through her fingers in a controlled manner before stopping. "No" she said simply. She would defend, and even attack to get out unscathed, but she would never throw the first punch.

Vannah sighed. "I wouldn't blame you. I'm glad you've realized that your power would just be too weak. It's a shame, really, it could've been great fun.." Vannah said looking at her wand. The garnets played in her eyes and the emerald dagger engraved in it danced in the firelight.

Gabby shook her head, as Vannah looked down Gabby flicked her wand and whispered " Levicorpus " Gabby got the timing right so that Vannah wouldn't see her actions. |

Vannah counter-acted the spell before it hit her. "Is that the best you got? I guess they don't teach much more to fourth-years." Vannah studied Gabby. In fact, she studied her so much she was practicing Legilimens---something she's recently mastered. |

Gabby felt her mind being invaded. At first she panicked, then she forced herself to calm down and focused on shutting off her mind. Vannah was not getting in and Gabby was extremely determined, as she did so, she redoubled the strength of her shield. She didn't trust Vannah on bit.

Vannah concentrated harder. She knew someone with Gabby's level of training would not be able to block out such a powerful force. "You can try but..." Vannah stopped speaking she came upon a very interesting memory. One she knew would be a bad one for Gabby. "Ooh..what's this?" She said. This must've been what Gabby's nifghtmares were about...

Gabby struggled to push Vannah out. As she reached the nightmare of her kidnapping her scar starting to ache. Gabby was through with defense and hurled the first curse she though of at Vannah, Gabby shook her head, as Vannah loked down Gabby flicked her wand and whispered " Stupefy! " |

Vannah through the curse off. "I can see your thoughts, Gabby. You can't stop me." Vannah watched the scene of the kidnapping knowing Gabby was being forced to relive it as well.

Tears started to roll down her cheeks, she was struggling to remain focused but that awful night was flashing before hey eyes. Gabby thought of another curse, any to make the pain stop, " Langlock!" Gabby managed to cry. |

Before the curse was even finished, Vannah calmly said " Protego!" And then she silently protected her self with the Protego Horribilis. As punishment, Vannah made the memory stronger. |

Gabby almost screamed in agony, her scar was sending shooting pains through the rest of her body and reliving the memory was torture for her. Gabby gathered any shred of strength she had left then roared at the top of her voice. " SECTUMSEMPRA! " |
