"Good." Vannah said kissing him softly on his cheek right near his mouth. "Hmmm...let's see..." She said looking around the pitch. "You could teach me that muggle sport you kept referring to." She suggested.

Vannah hesitated for a second before nodding slowly. "I prefer to think of it as the sport that stole my move." She said smiling teasingly.

Ryan laughed "Ok then get the beater bat" he said as he went to his bag and pulled out a round white ball and went back over to Vannah "This is called a baseball, which is also what the sport is called. The person with this ball throws it to the person with the bat, trying to keep them from hitting it, and the one with the bat tries to hit it as far as they can most of the time."

Vannah grabbed the bat off of the ground and listened as Ryan explained. It only made her more confused. "What?" She asked after trying to figure it out. She didn't see how it related to her hitting a Quaffle with her beater bat.

Ryan took the beater bat "I'll show you how it is, Ok in a real game lets say that i have the bat, the means i am the hitter, out in the field there are 9 players from the other team, the one throwing the ball is called the pitcher. So the pitcher throws the ball and this is what my job is" he said as he threw the ball into the air a little and swung the bat and hit the ball into the stands. "And that is what you did to get the goal."

As he explained it, Vannah concentrated one each position and muttered, "Hitter...Nine players...Pitcher...Hit ball with bat..." She was still slightly confused, but understood what she had done similarly to a baseball move.

Ryan looked over at Vannah and saw that she was a little confused. "Ill go over the rest if you want and then we can go back over stuff you dont understand, is that ok?"

"Ok." Vannah agreed with a nod. She kept repeating the terms to herself in her head so she wouldn't forget.

Ryan pulled out his wand and gave it a little flick and the pitch turned into a mini baseball field "Ok this is what the field looks like, those squares in the field are called bases, once the hitter hits the ball then they run to 1st base which is that one right there." he said pointing to his right a little at 1st base.

Vannah cocked her head. The field lokoed odd and took an odd shape. "Why is it so..." She searched for the right word to use. "Disconfigured?" She decided to use to describe the odd shape of the diamond.

Ryan smiled "Thats just they way it is. This sport was created about 125 years ago so im not sure why they made the field a diamond."

"O....k...." Vannah said stepping up to First Base as if it were the home plate. She grabbed the bat and held it with one hand sloppily. "Like this?" She asked squinting into the sun.
