Gabby knew she was babbling and as she didn't want to embarrass herself further, shut up as a blush crept back into her cheeks.
She smiled up at Ryan, trying to fix some of the damage her big mouth had caused.

Ryan smiled and looked at her and saw the blush in her face "Don't be embarrased. Im from USA. I live in Texas, amazing place, hot as hell in the summer though"

"Oh, I've been to America a few times, on holiday with my family, never made it to Texas but it was lovely. That's the only problem here, it never hot, never even properly warm..." Gabby trailed off, wondering what to say, hoping Ryan would start off the conversation again, she had come over all peculiar and she had a horrible feeling she knew why.
((Actually I lived in America for a few years but i couldn't say that after I said I had lived in Cheshire all my life!))

((In Maryland, for three years, I miss it quite a lot but it is good to be home!))
"Yuh, I love horse riding, it has its own kind of magic, your working with a living creature, you're a partnership and so it's not all about you, unless you've ridden, its hard to explain. Sometimes its hard to know what's better, horse riding or quidditch. I used to be on the team here, but as I left... I love writing as well, how about you?"
Gabby was on safe ground, she loved talking about horse riding; even though many wizards looked down on it because there was no 'magic' involved, Gabby felt herself when riding and all her worries would fall away. Gabby felt herself smiling at the thought. It was true she loved quidditch just as much though.

Ryan smiled "I have never ridden a horse but Ive always wanted to. I am into pretty much every muggle team sport on the face of the earth and I am also a big quidditch player, Im hufflepuff team captain."

Gabby gazed out over the lake, thinking about how it was such a beautiful day. It was a shame because she would have to go soon, she was extremely thirsty and could not think straight enough to conjure up a drink. She licked her cracked lips, wincing as they stung.
"So what classes are you taking?"
For lack of a better topic, Gabby had fallen back on the school card, wishing she hadn't because it was an incredibly dull topic to be talking about.

Gabby finished off the food and sighed, lying back in the sunshine. "Thank you, that's much better". She smiled at Ryan as a thanks and closed her eyes, absorbing the sun.
