Dru sighed and sat on the windowsill, looking down at the floor. "Well, me and Michael had talked quite a few times before we ever got together, but we always were interrupted by these two really annoying brats, Aggie and Petra. They were always pushing his buttons and he'd always end up leaving. Then one night," she smiled at the memory, "I was out in the corridors, and he found me and we talked.

"He almost kissed me that night, but he pulled away and said he had to go, I turned and left when he did that without saying anything to him." Her hands tightened on the edge of the windowsill, gripping the stones tightly. "The next day I was down at the lake, thinking, and he came up to tell me all this crap about how he was sorry and I got mad at him and he was all 'you shouldn't be mad at me' and....ugh..." she paused to remember, so that she didn't mess up what had happened.

"I told him I wanted to be with him but he told me I shouldn't be with him, that it wasn't a good idea." She was immersed in the story, almost unaware that she was telling it to someone. She had never told anyone how they had gotten together. "I cried, I always do when I'm frustrated, and tried to get him to understand I was willing to take the chance with him, and he ended up kissing me." She finally looked up at Annabelle, "I had to beg and plead with him to be with him, and yet you...." she shook her head, "I'm sorry, I've been rambling."

Annabelle leaned a shoulder against the wall next to the window sill and folded her arms across her chest. "Dru, I doubt that had anything to do with you. You don't honestly think that do you? I mean he was in league with the death eaters at the time. We talked about that, how he isn't with them anymore. He's really remorseful of his time supporting You-Know-Who, he was probably just trying to spare you so you wouldn't find out the truth." She sighed, wondering what they had talked about when they were together and hoping that Michael wasn't lying to her like he'd done to Dru.

"I know it wasn't about me," Dru said, sighing. "He said he had lost someone before, and that he didn't want to have me just to lose me." She buried her face in her hands, "I had to beg and plead....I should have listened to him..." she trailed off, all the pain and frustration coming back to her. She barely heard the rest of what Annabelle said.

"I'm so sorry Dru...." Annabelle stepped forward putting a hand on Dru's shoulder. She didn't understand how Michael could have been so against dating because he'd lost someone before, but not even mention it to her. She set that aside to address later, right now the bigger issue was what the relationship between Michael and Dru really was. It was obvious that they'd been pretty close, that Dru cared for him. "I didn't know.....If you still like him......" She spoke softly, choking out the last words and unable to finish her sentence.

She'd had a good time with Michael and liked him. She was excited that she had a date planned with him, and wanted to get to know him. But she didn't want Dru to hate her, or for Michael to pretend to like her if he really wanted to be with Dru instead. If they still liked each other, she didn't want to get in the way. As much as she didn't want to, she'd walk away if she had to. She forced a smile to her face for Dru's benefit.

Dru took her hand and wiped her eyes with her other one, a few tears had escaped. She looked up at Annabelle, "I'm sorry, what's done is done," she nodded slightly, biting her lip, "It's done...I won't lie to you, I do still feel something for him, but if...if you'll make him happy," she gave a smile, "I have no right to keep you from him, not when I've, well, kissed Chase." She didn't allow herself to think that she had just done it the first time to try to forget about Michael.

"Thanks Dru. That means a lot." Annabelle's smile turned genuine. She'd done the honorable thing and gave Dru a chance, but she wasn't going to push for something she didn't want to happen. She just hoped that Dru could find happiness too. She was curious how happy Dru was with him, if it was just a fling or more. "So do you think Chase and you will become serious?"

Dru brushed the hair from her face and laughed softly, "I don't know that he can contain himself enough for us to become serious." She looked down at her feet, "Though I won't say I don't hope so. He seems to be trying." When she had talked to him in the club, he had seemed to be amazed that anyone could care about him enough to want to be with him seriously. She wanted to see him again, especially now. "But I've not seen him in a week or so."

Annabelle let out a breath, greatful that she at least knew a bit better where she stood in the scheme of things. "Sometimes I wish life weren't so complicated. But I guess all any of us can do is hope for the best." She'd hope for Dru and Chase to work out, not only for Dru's sake, but also partly for selfish reasons.

Crossing her arms back over her chest, Annabelle hugged her arms in close. She looked up at Dru briefly before focusing on a spot of flooring. "I was really afraid of what you'd think. I invisioned the worst, you thinking I was a boyfriend thief, or even worse, that you'd think he was still working for You-Know-Who and that I was a traitor.

"If life wasn't complicated, it'd be pretty boring, I think," Dru said, smiling slightly. "I don't think he's on that side, I have proof that he's not, actually." Grey had told her that he believed Michael to be sincere, and she believed him, if she hadn't completely believed Michael. "I don't think you're a boyfriend thief or whatever. Just know that you're lucky to have him."

Annabelle felt relieved that Dru knew for sure that Michael wasn't on the wrong side anymore. She thought he was telling the truth, but she didn't know him well enough to be sure. She unfolded her arms, shrugging them with a shy smile. "I don't have him, he just asked me out on a date." She felt her nerves rise as the possibility of having a boyfriend rose. She didn't want to get her hopes up too high.

Dru smiled, "That's the closest to having him as you can be without actually having him, and you've already got the first kiss out of the way." She bit her lip as she thought back and gave a grin, "He's a great kisser, isn't he?" she asked, laughing, though she could barely believe the words left her mouth.

[Annabelle Hennessy]

Annabelle blushed profusely. "Yeah, I uh, I think so." She had enjoyed the kiss a lot, but honestly couldn't remember much about the kiss itself. It wasn't as if they'd had a full blown snogging session in the middle of the field. What she remembered is how it made her feel, how close to him she felt at that moment. She closed her eyes and whispered, "I hope he really likes me."

Dru laughed, "I'm sure you'll have plenty more opportunities to find out." The idea of someone else kissing Michael made a part of her uncomfortable, but she pushed it away, thinking that Michael would be twice as bad if he knew everything to do with Chase. "I don't think he'd kiss you without liking you, and if he agreed to a date," she shrugged, "I'm sure he likes you."

"Thanks." Annabelle gave a little laugh. "I really appreciate this, it must be weird talking to me about all this though. I know it seems a bit odd to me." She knew Dru was really nice, but she never expected Dru to offer encouragement towards Annabelle wanting a relationship with Michael.

"Well..." Dru bit her lip, thinking. "It's kind of strange, but..." she paused, not really sure what she wanted to say. "I can deal with it, I'm glad for you two, it'll be good for him to be happy," she said, nodding slightly and going quiet for a few moments. "Maybe we could all get together one day." What would it be like, her and Chase with Annabelle and Michael?
