Dru rolled her eyes and then looked him over. She raised an eyebrow at him, "I'd never have guessed." Only a risk-taker, or an idiot, gets into such a fight and then expects some fun. She kissed his forehead and then looked into his eyes, he had to know that it wasn't going to happen.

Chase easily recognized the look in Dru's eyes as a solid no, but chose to pretend otherwise. "Come on, I'll give you a head start finding the ribbon," he tried. Chase caught one of Dru's hands and brought it to the loose hem of his shirt, far enough away from the biggest cluster of bruises that he was able to forget they were there.

"Come on nothing," Dru said, a soft smile on her face. "You need to..." she looked at his jaw and lip, "Heal, before you do anything else. She didn't want him doing anything to put him in even more pain and with a longer healing time, and she wouldn't lie to herself, she couldn't imagine doing very much with someone whose lip bled every time they moved their mouth.

Chase was watching Dru closely enough to catch the flick of her gaze, and his hand followed, the immediate sting reminding him how fiercely he and Emilian had fought. He frowned at the thought that it probably wouldn't do much good to try anything if his mouth hurt too badly to kiss her. "Fine, you win." Chase made it sound like he was giving in, rather than coming to his senses, a small salve to his wounded pride.

"Thank you," Dru said, smiling and brushing his hair back. "With that potion you'll be ready to go in a couple of days at the most." She said it like a promise, once he was better she wouldn't stop him. She turned from him and flicked her wand at the empty potion bottle, sending it flying back to its place. The other bottle would stay, just in case.

A couple days! Chase wanted to protest, but knew it wouldn't do any good. Any argument would probably just extend those couple days into a week. Chase's eyes simmered with annoyance that he wisely kept to himself. At the moment, he didn't feel like concentrating on the promise in Dru's voice. He was getting sick and tired of unspoken promises, and without immediate distraction, it was too easy to fall back into the mood he'd been in when he'd run into Emilian. "I ought to go." Chase pushed to his feet, his jaw clenching as his stiffening muscles protested.

Dru didn't want him to go, Emilian could still be out there. "Why don't you stay? You're already looking better." It was amazing how fast the potions and things worked, she had only said a couple of days because there would be some stiffness possibly if he tried anything too rough too soon.

Chase looked at Dru, trying to decide if there was any ulterior motive. "I'll be in your way," he tried. She had to have figured out that he wouldn't be the most charming or easily-ignored company while she was working. Still, he didn't move to leave, perhaps because it was so tempting to just sit back down.

Dru rolled her eyes, "No you won't. Does it really look like I'm busy around here? And it's not exactly like I have to be at the club, I could always put someone else in charge." She wanted him to stay, if only for the reassurance that he wouldn't come to her the next day even more battered than he already was.

Chase couldn't decide why Dru wanted him to stick around, but it was more work arguing than it would be to walk out, which sounded like a chore compared to just sitting down and shutting up. Chase took the better part of valor and eased himself onto the seat he'd just vacated, comforting himself with the knowledge that somewhere, Emilian was dealing with a searing bundle of blisters. Chase leaned back and looked absently around the empty hospital. "So what do you do in here all day?"

Dru shrugged and pulled up a chair next to him. "Nothing much, I study a lot, I basically gave up on classes and decided to do independent work instead. Make sure the potions and everything's up to date." It was pretty boring, but it was a nice change from the noisy club she was in all night, a relaxing silence.

"What do you study for if you're not in classes?" Chase was only in school to keep his parents happy, or at least in the dark. He couldn't see doing the work without good reason, and it never occurred to him to seek knowledge simply for enlightenment.

"Well, I have to if I plan on finishing out school, and I want to....just because." She had always loved learning, everything about finding a new piece of information to horde away inside thrilled her to no end. "Besides, it's so much better to sit in here and study than to sit in here twiddling my thumbs all day."

Chase shrugged. "I can see that." He couldn't imagine being stuck in one room for several hours a day. He'd go stir-crazy. Chase leaned further back into his seat, mildly bored, but suddenly uninterested in trying to stand up again. "So what do you study?" he asked, the words spoken absently, even if he did intend to listen.

Dru shrugged, "A little of everything, from potions to history, I've always loved charms." Back when she had first come to the school, her favorite professor had been Xenon, the Charms teacher, she had always looked forward to his class. "Think I'm insane?" she asked, a smile turning up the corners of her mouth.
