Jess was headed back to the Hufflepuff common room. He shook his head and was muttering a bit. he last scene was insane and if his sister had been there she probably would've just laughed. He decided tot ake a detour down a few corridors and ended up walking around he school before heading back. He stopped by the exit to the courtyad and leaned against one of the colums. His hands were stuffed into his pockets and his hood were up. If someone were o walk by, they'd probably think he was sketchy.

Gabby was running through the corridors, trying to escape the demons. She knew she probably looked crazy but she didn't think she was going to run into anyone. Gabby found herself near one of the courtyards and veered towards the exit. She wasn't concentrating as she slammed into someone standing there. Gabby stumbled backwards and nearly fell over. She regained her breath then anxiously asked "I'm really sorry, are you ok?" Gabby bit her lip.

Jess pulled his hood down and took the earphones out of his erars. He figured out a way to charm his MP3 player to work in certian areas of the castle. "Yeah, I'm fine." He said. "Are you?" He asked. Jess held out his hand to help her up. It looked like she had been in a hurry.

Gabby took his hand and got to her feet. She brushed off the dirt that her fall had caused to settle into her clothes. She felt her pockets and realised she had left without her wand. She sighed, she had no way to protect hereslf and she thought that nobody would be able to hear her if she screamed. Looking at the guy though, she felt as if she wouldn't need protection, he wasn't a slytherin to start with. "Not really no," Gabby admitted. "I just had a recurring nightmare and I suppose I was tring to escape ghosts from my past." She looked at him, trying to gauge a reaction. She knew she probably looked and sounded half mad, but she didn't really care.

"Alright, then." Jess said shrugging it off. The girl seemed cautious and it almost made him laugh. He almost said he had gotten back from a nightmare of his own, but decided against it. It was past him now. "And who might you be?" Jess asked. Curiosity had swept over him. He felt like he had met her before, but waved the thought off. He usually knew the names of the people around him by observing, though mostly no one knew him.

"I'm Gabby, and you must be the guy i saved from those slytherins down by the lake," Gabby wasn't sure but it was a guess, she didn't think that many people would be wondering around this late.

Jess's eyes darkened. "I could've handeled them myself, you know." He muttered deeply. He mentally rolled his eyes. He was very proud and a bit stubborn as well. "Jess Brennan." He said as an introduction to himself.

"Nice to meet you," Gabby said, noting the change in attitude, "I know you could have handled them," she said continuing, "I just speeded up the process." Gabby suddenly felt vulnerable, she didn't know who this guy was and they were alone while she was unarmed.

Jesss looked down for a moment then back at Gabby. "You know them, then?" He asked pushing his moodiness away. This was his attempt at conversation. He studied her for a moment and his eyes fell on the crest on her robes.

"I do actually, before you arrived on the scene, things were a bit nasty, I was about to go into the caslt when I saw you." Gabby looked at Jesse, trying to figure out what sort of person he was, she couldn't tell what house he was in either.

"They've been a bit...er...unpleasant to everyone, don't take offense." Jess said bitterly. He shook his head and cleared his thoughts. "So you're in Gryffindor, eh?" He asked averting his eyes from the crest and back to Gabby.

"Yep, a fourth year," Gabby said, smiling at her 'promotion'. "Until a few days ago I was officially a third year, because I had to take so much time off, but recently I was allowed to enter my proper year, I'm 15 now you see. How about you? house, year?" Gabby questioned Jesse in return.

"Hufflepuff, 6th. My sister's in Gryffindor." Jess said to explain his interest. "She's also a sixth year." He said to answer the next question he predicted she would have. "Her name's Reed Brennan." Jess said with a slight nod of his head.

Jess shrugged. "Taking a walk, I suppose. It's nice when there isn't much of anyone else around." He answered then looked at her suspiciously. "What are you doing out? Don't you all have a curfew?"
