Storm didn’t see where she was, but wherever she was, she felt safe. She was covered in soot, her cloak torn and her mother’s lifeless body on her lap. Storm didn’t hear anything she just wanted her mom to move. “Wake up. Mom wake up. Mommy…” she shook at her mother’s body but Eirene kept staring at Storm blank. Storm clutched at her mother’s body burying her head in the crook of Eirene’s neck and for the first time in a very long time Storm cried.
Storm didn’t want to let go she just wanted to sit there cold, bloody and broken for so long everything had been quiet. Sadness slowly turned to rage and if it wasn’t for her physical state she’d have gone back and done something she would probably regret. Storm felt tiny hands on her shoulder “Mistress please mistress.” The tiny house elf shook at Storm her big eyes went from Storm to Eirene. The house elf didn’t wait very long before coming to, where Storm assumed was, Hogwarts and she was grateful. Storm turned back to her mother fingers cupping her cheeks rocking back and forth. “Ev… everything’s going to be alright…” she said through sobs to no one. Storm was completely unaware that she was in his office.

Chase heard voices in his office as he reached the door and his brows drew together. His locks were still up. He brought out his wand to open the door and stepped in, but any confusion he might have felt died for the scene in front of his fireplace. No. No, this wasn't good, and as he moved toward them, as he flicked his wand to send a message to the Healer, he recognized them both.
Storm. Storm and her mother. And an elf.
"What happened?" he asked in clipped tones. He dropped to his knees to reach for Storm, to pull her against him if he could. She looked like she'd been beaten horribly, but Mrs. Seyrrou was dead. She was obviously dead.

Storm didn’t hear him come in she barely heard the question her body was shaking as she cradled her mother close. How was any of this fair? Their relationship has just gotten better they were getting along there was an understanding between the two. Why was it that everything she cared for was taken away from her? Her fingers slipped down to clasp her mother’s hand she waited for Eirene to squeeze back, but it never came. She wanted to believe so bad that this wasn’t it.
Storm felt the presence beside her she felt him he was so close and while any other time she’d have pushed away this once she needed him. She buried her head in his chest never once letting go of her mother’s hand. Storm just wanted him to tell her everything was okay she needed to hear that he could make all of this stop there was not a single shred of rational thought in that moment. “Make it stop Chase make it all stop.” She wanted him to make her stop hurting, she wanted him to make her stop being; in that moment she wished it was her on the ground not her mother. Storm wanted life to just end.

Chase folded his arms around her and tried to think, murmuring meaningless assurances all the while. "It'll be okay. I'll fix this. Don't worry." Katia had damn well better be here soon, and if the woman didn't do her job with more grace than she usually did, she'd pay for it later. This was no time to be a superior b~.

Katia had expected to be asked for a calming draught or a headache potion, and was stunned by the scene she walked in on. Since she'd returned to Hogwarts, she'd only ever seen the man either entirely composed or or holding tightly to whatever male pms had possessed him. This was different.
Still, she had been well-trained and excelled in every subject she'd ever put forth an effort in, She brought out her wand and found that the woman on the floor was no longer living. It was time to turn to the other, the woman the Deputy Headmaster was holding, who didn't look a thing like his wife.

"Get her healed enough to go to the Hospital Wing," Chase said firmly. "Then contact Abigail." Abi was the school Healer, and however good Katia might be, Abi had years more experience and a glowing recommendation not only from her previous employer, but from several Healers at St. Mungo's.
"Now! She's an alumna and her mother's a former Head of House!"

Katia didn't appreciate being barked at, and sent the Headmaster a scathing look. "I am perfectly capable of making medical decisions on my own," she said, tipping up her chin. "Things will happen in their own time." Had things not been so dire she might have argued, but as it was, she gave her wand a sharp flick and the woman's leg snapped loudly back into place.

Chase's irises burst into flame, and he pulled a hard breath before speaking through gritted teeth. "Things will not happen in their own time, that is why you're here. You'll do your job or you'll be begging your father to take you home before sunrise!" Chase slid his arms beneath a Storm who was still in deep shock and pushed to his feet. "Get Abigail," he said, and headed for the Hospital Wing. magikal05.proboards.com/thread/7189
