Castiel tried not to look at her, but couldn't help another sidelong glance. He pulled a quick breath and looked away, then called out for his raven. "Absinthe!" The bird cawed at him from a spot nearby, where it was snuggled up beside an owl. It gave a quick hop, then launched into the air. He raised his free arm for the bird and it settled on his sleeve, bowing its head in question. He slid his arm free of Diantha's to fetch a treat out of his pocket.

Diantha was a little surprised to see that her Raring had apparently found a friend in the raven, her ear feathers lowered in relaxation. "Raring!" she said, smiling, and the long-eared owl joined them with a few lazy flaps, the long black feathers perking up in happiness. A little pack of treats sat in her bag, and she reached for one. "You're supposed to come see me in the mornings," she scolded gently.

"So that's why I didn't see you last night," Castiel said. Somehow Absinthe had made good enough friends with an owl that he'd stayed all night in the owlery instead of coming back to his cage. He turned, bringing the arm that held Absinthe closer to Diantha's owl. Absinthe leaned forward to give Raring an affectionate nip.

Raring hooted softly in response, and Diantha's smile broadened. "Well, then," she said. It looked like their pets wouldn't be lonely, either. "Perhaps the both of you should remember you're supposed to visit the ones who feed you treats." They could even visit together if they had to. She stroked the owl's soft brown facial feathers, and Raring responded by closing her red-orange eyes in pleasure.

Absinthe attempted to make apologies by walking up Castiel's arm to his shoulder, then preening his hair a bit. "Do you want to come to Diagon Alley?" Castiel asked the bird. It settled itself firmly and touched its beak to his cheek in a mock kiss. Absinthe was a charming little beast.
"Do you need to send something, or do you just want to visit?" Castiel asked Diantha. He didn't particularly like the owlery. It was beautiful in a way that appealed to him, but the floor was covered in owl droppings and he was always afraid he'd get pooped on.

"I just wanted to see her and learn how to get here," Diantha said. "And hopefully now she knows she can't get away with avoiding me, even for a new friend." She eyed the owl, but the bird was simply enjoying the light strokes of her finger, pretending to ignore her words. "Hmph." But at the little sound, Raring dragged open her eyes and lightly nudged Diantha's jaw. She gave the bird another small treat, then let Raring make her way back to what counted as an owl's bedroom.
"Okay, then, I should probably send something to my father, but he can wait and brood a little at not getting a message immediately." Raring likely didn't want to make such a journey so soon, anyway.

"Let's go then," Castiel said. "Once we make it to the gates we can take the Knight Bus. Absinthe, are you ready for the bus?" The raven glanced at him, then turned its attention back to the owl, effectively dismissing him. Castiel decided that was a yes.
