Andy blushed a vivid rose. Gavin made it sound like there was something really amazing about him, and though he couldn't begin to imagine what, it still sent a wave of warmth through him. "All I did was mess around in the book store," he said. And he'd kissed Gavin where anyone might see them. He'd just been normal him.

Gavin shook his head and reached across to grip both of Andy's hands in his. "You proved that messing around in a shop doesn't mean jail time," he said. "That you don't have to please the shop owner or anything, that it's okay to just have fun and kiss the cute guy under the window." He thought that was pretty impressive.

"You think I'm cute?" Andy said softly. He didn't need an answer, though. The feel of Gavin's hands so warm and solid around his, the look in his eyes, left no room for doubt. Andy's gaze dropped to their linked hands, and the butterflies in his stomach fluttered pleasantly. After a moment's thought, he gave a little laugh. "What can I say to that?"

"You could...promise me another kiss," Gavin suggested, raising his eyebrows across the table at Andy. Hopefully this time a kiss wouldn't end in awkwardness or mistakes. He smiled and rubbed his thumb briefly over Andy's skin. It was a small thing, and maybe a little weird to anyone who saw them, to be sitting there holding both hands, but he liked the contact.

Andy's lips parted slightly in surprise, a little breath of a sigh escaping before he blushed and dropped his gaze. "I promise," he said with a little smile. He kind of wanted to do it now, but there was a whole table between them, so he decided he'd wait until they were alone. He wasn't sure if he was supposed to wait for the end of the date, but didn't particularly care.
"Do you want to like... get out of here?" he asked.

Gavin grinned and nodded, reluctantly breaking contact to dig coins out of his pocket. Though he hadn't been immersed in the magical world, he'd used the money enough to be able to dish out the payment without much thought. "How could I say no?" he asked, eying that blush and small smile. "No one says we have to stay in here."
