"It sounds like it was less cooling off than rebound," Kane suggested. He wasn't offended in the least. "You may want to decide if you want to pursue more than the physical with one of them, but since you don't know either well, you're in a hard spot there. There are a lot of different ways you can go with this.
"There's nothing wrong with being attracted to more than one person, but dating them both is a way to hurt feelings all around."

It probably wasn't socially acceptable to give them both a survey to fill out for him to review, so although Gavin couldn't help but consider the idea, he dismissed it outright. He was more physically attracted to Andy, was that enough to go on? On the other hand, confidence and knowledge were in Castiel's favor. "I don't want to hurt anyone. Andy might not even want to talk to me again when he finds out."

Kane was beginning to get the idea that Gavin was more interested in Andy. He seemed unsure about Castiel, and upset at the thought that Andy might have misunderstood, and might have hurt feelings about it all. Of course, if Castiel knew what was happening and accepted it, there would be less worry for Gavin.
"It sounds like you know who you'd rather pursue," Kane said. "Don't get into a mindset of defeat already. Perhaps you can pursue a romantic relationship with one and a friendship with the other. Be honest about what you want, and stick with it."

Gavin nodded slowly. Yes, he had leaned toward Andy, but he would never know if that was just because he'd kissed Andy first. He reminded himself that he had met Castiel first and not had any immediate response past possible friends, so maybe that was enough. "Perhaps I shouldn't try to plan what to say, and I should just try to talk."

"Whichever is easiest for you," Kane said. "As long as you have a general idea. Writing out a script works well for speeches, but not quite as well when talking to someone."
