Gavin was raised to be logical, motivated, and focused. At Bedford Preperatory School, he excelled in maths, astronomy, and music. At Eton College, he further explored art and music. He is one of those rare people who is gifted with both logic and creativity, however underdeveloped the latter might be.
Gavin has spent a great deal of time working toward the future, and while he's at Hogwarts, he intends to stretch his wings. His greatest magical skills include Arithmancy, Astronomy, and Potions. His preferred sports include cricket and rowing.
Background:
Gavin is the oldest of three children to Allard and Betsy Kent, high-powered attorneys. There is no magical history in the family, only a long history of attending England's best independent schools. From the age of seven, he attended Bedford School. At thirteen he transferred to Eton College, on a track to attend The University of Oxford.
At the age of eleven, wizards from Hogwarts visited to discuss Gavin's enrollment. His parents, who had been dealing with the unexplained for over a decade at that point, believed that continuing the education he'd begun, and hiring magical tutors for summer holidays, would be the best course of action. Recently, however, Gavin's interest in the magical has exceeded his interest in entering politics.
His parents, firm but reasonable, have allowed him a year away from Eton to explore the magical world, believing that the best education is a well-rounded one. They not-so-secretly hope that, curiosity satisfied, their son will return to Eton and use his new skills to complement those he requires for a steady future.
