Having had a long holiday away, Evan decided that it would be time to get back into reality and head back to Diagon Alley. The cool summer break she had by a small rocky village of the coast of Ireland was what she needed. Away from people she knew, or those that she would rather forget. But even a holiday had its problems when it came to Evan.
Arriving on the cobbled streets of Diagon Alley, Evan took in all the new sights that awaited her. Many of the shops were closed, "the shopkeepers are probably still on holiday", she thought whilst gawking into all the empty shop windows looking for any hint of recent life. Arriving by her little pride and joy Evan took out her ring of keys all of different shapes and colours. Choosing the newest, shiniest, silver key on the chain, she parted it from the others and placed it into the key hole of the shop listening for that familiar click sound. Giving the heavy door a shove with her shoulder, Evan entered with the sound of a little bell above the door echoed around the shop. Nothing stirred as she closed the door behind her. The store was quite dark and bare as all the animals and creatures that she had weren't here, they had been sent away to be looked after until her undecided return. Evan walked towards her desk noting the thick layer of dust that had began to form on top of all her counters and shelves. When reaching the counter she pulled out her wand and muttered "Lumos" to brighten the shop, which illuminated all the cobwebs that hung across all the rafters. A shiver ran through her as she thought of the size of the creatures that created them still roaming around the place. Evan knew she ran a shop which sold all sorts of creatures however she could never hold a soft spot for spiders of any size. Lifting the piled of records and letters left by the owls on the desk, Evan knew she would have to get down to restocking the whole shop and sort out when her animals would return. Excitement ran through her with the thought of her having her shop back to normal. Well, as normal as it could ever be..
Hours and numbers later, Evan rubbed her eyes and walked into the back room which she used as a small kitchen or a large stock room which it really was that contained a rusted old kettle. Using her wand she lit the fire and filled the kettle with water. Placing the kettle over the fire Evan went about brushing dust of cups and canisters just so she could have her caffeine fix. As she waited for the water to boil she leaned against a unit, arms folded across her chest and gazed into the flames. She watched as the flames licked the bottom of the black kettle whilst her mind wandered back to her holiday in which she was sent to "relax"...
