"Yeah," Rhys said holding up his hand to show off the simple gold band. "His is the same, we're not really into flashy jewelry, and they match this." He set his hand back down on the table after briefly tapping the band around his neck and looked at the ring, smiling, forgetting himself for a few moments before he remembered Indigo. "So what are you two going to school for? I'm going to take a wild guess and say wizarding universities don't offer IT degrees."

Indigo chuckled and shook his head. If he didn't love the wizarding world so much, he'd so go for IT and CIS. "Jory's going for Divination. I'm still undecided but like... I think I've found something. I just haven't figured out what to do with it."
He brought out the mirror now, and set it on the table. "Jory gave me this, and he's got one too. All I have to do is say his name and they'll open up like video chat. Only it's clear, it's like I'm looking right at him. I love my smartphone, but like, this thing is amazing."

"Oh, that's cool," Rhys said, reaching over to pick it up to look at what appeared to be just a regular hand mirror. "I bet that was useful over the summer." It had been hard before he'd given Matthew a phone and they had been living in the same city. He couldn't believe they'd lasted those months without any form of instant, easy contact.

"It's great," Indigo said. He thought of the time he'd tried to get Jory to cyber with him, or whatever it would be called, but kept that much to himself. Rhys still felt like an adult authority figure, and he'd hardly been able to talk about it with Jory. "We talked a lot," he added.

"Well, talking is an important part of a relationship," Rhys teased. "You know, if anything ever happens, you can come talk to me. I've got quite a bit of experience helping people out." Even more now that he was in school taking so many sociology and psychology classes. He was learning more than he'd ever thought he would.

"Everything's going great," Indigo said. "I've got my blog and Facebook and everything. Do you have a Facebook?" he asked, looking over at Rhys. He didn't know the guy's last name or he'd search him. He wasn't entirely sure how to spell Rhys either. "I've got two pages. One for my family and one for me. The one for me has some magical people on it, I'm not the only one online." Rhys was a Muggle, but he was a Muggle who knew.

"Yeah," Rhys said, before spelling out his name and giving his last. "I've tried to get Matthew on, but he thinks it's silly. Of course, he's got fewer muggle friends to add than I do, so there isn't much reason for him to have one. Are there really magical people online, though?" That was hard to imagine, though maybe there were more kids like Indigo than he thought.

"Not a lot. More in the U.S. than in a lot of places, but the United States is big. There are a few in Japan, mostly they're spread out. One here, a couple there." He found Rhys and sent a friend request from his personal page. "I'll put you in my wizards' friends list so you can see what we post. You know all about secrecy..." He went ahead and added Rhys to the group.
"We're mostly Muggle-born, but there are a couple who married a Muggle and got into it that way." He paused to type a quick message announcing Rhys, then looked up again. "I'm going to make Jory get a page," he said with a smile. "A relationship's not official until you've Facebooked it."

Rhys chuckled. "I've tried telling Matthew that, but he won't listen. He's fully embraced some aspects of technology, but when it comes to having internet friends he isn't convinced." He would have thought that after two years Matthew would have learned, but he supposed he couldn't blame Matthew for thinking the way he did. Especially after the little issue the previous summer when Rhys had spoken with online friends over Matthew. He grinned and lowered his voice conspiratorially. "You should see him trying to type."

Indigo's brows arched at the thought. He hadn't made Jory type anything. "That's got to be bad," he said. "All Jory's really done with mine is watch me and use the touchscreen to draw." And there was that time at home when they'd watched a certain something together, but he'd just count that as watching him. How long before he could think about him and Jory without blushing?

"It's hunting and pecking, like what older people do, but seriously like ten times slower. At least those people kind of know where the keys are," Rhys said. "He really likes mobile games, though, I very rarely get to use my tablet now." He'd been considering buying Matthew a tablet of his own, even if Matthew only used it for games. "If Jory likes using the touchscreen, he might like games like that."

Indigo nodded, thankful for the tip. "I don't want to get him too hooked, I'd like die without my tech." He was almost positive that you could actually die from boredom. "It works at VU. There's nowhere to plug in, but I'll take what I can get.

"There was no way I could have moved in with Matthew if we hadn't been able to wire the place up," Rhys said. "Apparently there are some cables and such running behind the Alley, so we were able to find someone to tap us in." They had talked about it before he'd ever moved in, months before, and the process of muggle-proofing the building had started.

"That won't be happening at VU," Indigo said, wishing it would. "There's a Muggle town close, but I haven't been through to see if they've got like a McDonald's or something I could leech off." He gave a teasing smile. "So you haven't lost me or anything." He made his point with a large bite of knickerbocker glory.

"Well, I'd hope not. You're the only person around here who knows what a processor is," Rhys said. "You know, there's a club there, we went once with Dare, Matthew actually met a girl there he knew from school. We could meet you sometime and hang out." He hadn't really considered hanging out with Indigo in such a venue before, but now that the guy was in university, he saw no reason not to, he did like talking to Indigo.
