The walk through the castle had been exciting, nerve-wracking, awkward, and more exciting. Silver couldn't help the direction his mind had taken, that he'd be leaving for college soon and this could be his only chance. His girlfriends never stuck around long, and he was interested in Ayla, he liked her attitude. He liked the way she felt.
It wasn't hard getting into the room, and though he'd had a place in mind, he was still surprised at seeing it. It was a bedroom, and that brought a flush to his cheeks because there was no denying his thoughts that way. It was neat and well-organized, with a bookshelf and a beanbag chair, a few posters on the wall for various indie bands, and a wooden four-poster bed.
"Uh, I guess this is my room," he said, looking at Ayla.

Ayla grinned, "Looks like you." She didn't know him as well as she might have liked to, but the room just felt like him. She stepped in and ran light fingers along the bookshelves, curious to see how he lived. The too-long walk had cooled her a little and she was suddenly a little nervous. They hadn't really talked about what the plan was and she'd only ever gone so far with someone, whatever bravado she put on.

The shelves held an eclectic mixture of books, from classics he loved to Muggle fantasy to contemporary novels. There were a few things he'd made, a few old journals down on the lower shelves, a ceramic vase which held a collection of quills. Maybe it wasn't as cool as Dare's room had been, but it was comfortable and lived-in.
Silver made himself move from the door, which he locked carefully behind him. "Thanks, I guess," he said. He walked up next to Ayla and reached out to take her hand. "This was my old room, from California." He'd spent far more time there than at the smaller house in England. Neither he nor Dare had ever completely unpacked. Dare had taken his things rather than unpack them.

Ayla threaded her fingers comfortably through Silver's. "Do you miss it?" she asked, glancing up at him. Even though she wanted to be independent, she still sometimes missed her room at home. It was a little surreal to have taken that long walk and be here with him in his old bedroom. For the moment, she was content to relax. Besides, relaxing was good, being tense wouldn't do either of them any good.

"Yeah, of course," Silver said. He was too young to be reminiscing about simpler times, but things had been simpler then. He looked down at Ayla. She didn't need to know. If they decided to be together he'd think about it, but he hadn't told anyone himself since it had happened.
"I don't think I could go back, though. I've come too far, you know?" All of it was part of him. He wouldn't be the same without it, and he liked himself more than he ever had before.

"I, for one, am glad you got your arse across the pond," Ayla said, smiling up at him and giving him a nudge. "I remember when you first got here, no lie there were arguments over which of you was hotter." She nudged him again playfully and stepped over to look at a poster. It seemed like forever ago since the brothers had come to the school.

Silver blushed at that, and it took him a moment to decide she was kidding. Hot was not a word he'd even begin to imagine applied to himself, though he couldn't convince himself that he didn't know she liked him. She wouldn't be here if she didn't. "I'm glad I'm here," he said.

Ayla was silent for a bit and when she discovered her teeth attacking a lip, she forced herself to stop and looked up at Silver. "You know, I've got no bloody idea what I'm doin', right?" she asked. She'd had a boyfriend before, once, for a very short amount of time, but he hadn't been like Silver. Hell, she'd never even considered trying to find a guy, and here she was doing...whatever it was this is.

"Oh," Silver said. "Uh, neither do I, not really." Despite the rumors that he was some Don Juan with a thousand girlfriends, he most definitely was not. He didn't know what any bases besides first were, but it had never mattered, since that was as far as he'd ever been. "You want to though, right?" he asked. He wanted to.

Ayla was silent again for some moments before she nodded. "Just nervous," she said. She didn't feel quite like herself, either. It was odd, but she'd gotten used to feeling different around Silver. Calmer, less aggressive, she couldn't help but notice the differences in herself. She reached up and pulled the bandana off her head and shook her hair out. "You should kiss me, bet that'll help." One corner of her mouth pulled up in a half smile.

It would have been hard not to kiss her just then. Silver leaned in and pressed his lips to hers, buried his fingers in her hair and gave himself permission to let go. It didn't need to be fast or frantic, he wanted something to remember, something for both of them. It wasn't intense, not yet, but it had a hold of him that fast.

Ayla didn't have a thought to regret the decision once Silver's lips met hers. This felt good, maybe she had never been meant to do things with the rough and tumble type she'd typically been so interested in. Of course, today Silver was rather rough and tumble, with the joust and the gear. She pulled her hand from his and stretched up her arms to loop around his neck.

Silver's blood ran hot and fast with every little thing she did, with every inch explored or uncovered. As unsure as his mind might have been about things, his hands knew what they wanted, and his lips knew as well. Maybe it should have taken longer to guide her back onto his bed, but it felt right lying so close as they kissed and touched.

Silver was deliciously warm and heavy against her and Ayla grew more excited with every lost bit of jousting gear. She loved his hair, how it fell around them and how it felt against her arms when it brushed them. This was unbelievable, maybe it just wasn't happening, it was a dream or something. Well, no, it was just silly to think it was a dream, but it all felt so good.

Somehow shyness didn't kick in. Silver was too amazed by everything, too enthralled to spare a thought for anything besides the feel of this, and the feel of her. He lost himself in her, and when it was over, he could hardly breathe for the aftershocks. "Wow," he managed.
