Ryan turned the sign in front of his store to "open" and went about checking all of the shelves. He made sure everything was in its place, and then step outside and gave a flick of his wand. A large banner unravelled above the door reading "GRAND REOPENING". He looked at the sign, pleased, and then looked up and down the alley, wondering if it was worth it to come back. Wondering if he should have just stayed away in the muggle world.

Savannah loved her job in Diagon Alley as much as she loved anything at all, which wasn't very much. Her boss was a decent woman. She knew how to run a business properly and didn't take any crap, so that made her alright in Savannah's books. At least she wasn't an idiot like most of the owners in the Alley. Savannah would never allow herself to work for an idiot. She wouldn't be able to hold her tongue long enough to keep the job, at least. She had changed so much since her days as a student at Hogwarts, but in some respect she was still very much the same.
Savannah was headed to work like any other day when she noticed the sign for a particular shop lit up. It caught her by surprise. The joke shop hadn't been open since she returned, and she knew the owner hadn't been around at all. Perhaps there was a new owner. Perhaps it didn't mean anything at all that the shop was open. Still, her curiosity got the best of her and she found herself pushing open the door and stepping into the musty shop. Would it hurt to open a few windows? Savannah almost immediately walked into a cobweb. She stopped herself short and shuddered at the thought of what could have happened. She took another step forward and stepped on some creepy clown toy that squeaked. She rolled her eyes in disgust. There was a special place in hell for those who thought any of this useless junk was actually funny.

Ryan had been in the back when he heard the door open. He looked up and started walking to the front saying "Welcome to the reopened Joke Shop. Sorry for the mess, still trying to sort everything out and....." his voice trailed off when his eyes met the person who had walked in. "Vannah..." he said softly. He was frozen with a mixture of fear and nervousness. How would she react to seeing him again after all this time? "How have you been?" He asked weakly.

Savannah probably shouldn't have even gone to the shop. The last time she saw Ryan, she set him straight. He wanted to be friends, but she wasn't the friendly sort. She figured that he knew that better than anyone, but maybe he didn't know her as well as he should have. Maybe that's the reason so many things turned out the way they did. Since Savannah pretty much cut the ties with this boy, then maybe she really should have left it at that. She should have gone to work like she always did instead of diving into this other shop and revisiting a dangerous territory in the past. Curiosity was the main reason Savannah was there. It had also been a ridiculously long time since she satisfied her needs: both physical and mental. She had been entirely too focused when she returned to Hogwarts. She wanted to get out of there as soon as possible and she did. The boys were much younger than her there and also immature. They were inexperienced, to say the least, and clumsy. None of that interested her. Since she got her job, she's been focused on keeping it and developing her person from there. She was needy at this moment. Desperate. Craving something she knew she could so easily obtain by coming into the joke shop.
"Ryan." Savannah said in one short breath. Her lips did not curve into a smile. They stayed in that natural pout she always had. She hair was edgier since he last saw her, but her eyes were still that piercing green. "How I am is irrelevant." She said, which was better than what she was thinking in her mind. I am minding my own business, perhaps you should try doing the same. Her thoughts spat back in response, but that was all in her head. "I see you're back." She stated. It was obvious, but it was also her way of digging for more information without seeming like she cared. Because she didn't.

Ryan listened to her, taking note of her tone. Obviously she wasn't particularly happy to see him, almost annoyed. She came into my shop, what did she expect to find, he thought to himself. "Yes, I am back. Just got back in yesterday." He said in a matter of fact way. If she wanted to know more about where he was she would have to show more concern, which Ryan knew would likely not happen. "You are back as well, I see. If memory serves correctly you were the one to leave first." He finished a little coldly. The last he had seen of Savannah, she had, once again, further broken his heart before leaving Hogwarts again. He saw, not too far away from her, a cobweb, and he grabbed a broom and walked over right next to Vannah and used the broom to get rid of the web.

Savannah didn't like his tone at all, especially since his story was incorrect. Savannah never left Hogwarts. Not since she saw him, at least. She didn't even really try to avoid him. She walked through the corridors, sat in the Great Hall, and went to classes just as all of the other students did. She didn't make any effort to socialize with anyone because she didn't particularly care about them. Her old peers were running the school and teaching her. It was embarrassing, so she blew through all she had to do in order to leave as fast as she could. "Your memory doesn't serve you well at all, as it seems." She said. "I never left again. I've been here. I finished school and now I am working." Hogwarts was driving her mad, but apparently it is important to have a slip of paper stating you've fulfilled your education in order to be worth anything in the real world.
Before Savannah really knew what was happening, a broomstick came flying at her and missed her face by mere inches. "Good lord, Ryan, a little warning might have been nice." She all but shouted. She nearly got maimed by a tool in a stupid wizarding game. Savannah didn't know what Ryan was doing when he disappeared, but it obviously wasn't learning about manners.

Ryan looked at her, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to almost hit you" he said sincerely. "Maybe I just thought you left because I never saw you again after you basically told me you didn't want to have anything to do with me anymore. I'm glad to hear that you finished school." He sighed looking into her eyes for a brief second, and then walking to pick up what had fallen when he got rid of the cobweb "I always knew you were the stronger and better of the two of us." He finished softly. He hated to admit it, but it was true. She had stayed and finished school, made it through to give herself a chance in life, whereas he had just left and ran from the school, left the magical world all together.

Savannah didn't believe he was sincere. It seemed more likely that he had used what could have been interpreted as an act of chivalry as the perfect opportunity to take out his pent up anger on her. What he tried to play off as nothing more than getting rid of a cobweb was actually his attempt to decapitate her perfect head. She was sick of this 'good boy' act that he always put on. Were all Americans this way? Did they all walk around and sexually attack the first woman they saw and call it love? Did they all prance around so innocently when nothing about them was innocent at all. Ryan was a player. Savannah had been with him for a long time, but even then there had been a time when she competed for his attention and affect. And why? It was a long time ago, but sometimes she forgot how stupid she was even then.
"Well, at least you're right in that regard." Savannah said coolly. She didn't disagree with him. She was definitely stronger and better. She thought very highly of herself, that was no secret. "So why exactly are you back?" She asked. Why was he on her turf, more likely. Not much about his appearance has changed. He was still kind of cute in that raised-among-the-farm-animals kind of way.

Ryan looked at her, pretty sure he knew what she was thinking. He was always good at reading people, figuring out some of the things that they were thinking, and with Vannah it was a lot easier because he knew her so well. "I don't know why you still think I am some bad guy always putting on an act as a good person. I know I haven't been the best person in the world in my past, but when I say things, I actually mean them. As to why I am back, I decided that I wanted to be back in the magical world. I spent some time with my family in the muggle world, and some time traveling, and then finally decided I wanted to come back, and I knew I would have a job here for me when I came back." He looked into those cool eyes that he remembered so well, the eyes that he loved, that he always used to get lost in.

Savannah was beautiful. She wasn't modest in the least, but she was comfortable with how she looked. She worked in fashion, so she had no choice but to look put together. Her blonde hair fell in front of her eyes in thin wisps. Her lips were almost always pressed together in a pout. She wasn't really listening to his explanation of why he was back. She was mostly thinking about how unbelievably gorgeous she was. "Fascinating." She said. It was a lie. She wasn't fascinated in the slightest.
Savannah touched the pendant on her necklace strategically. The chain around her neck allowed the pendant to drop so it was just barely touching her cleavage. She turned her head so her focus was elsewhere and her neck elongated. "Will you be staying long?" She asked softly. She was curious. She was hungry. She needed something, anything, and he was anything.

Ryan watched her, and knew exactly what she was doing. She has much pride in herself and her looks, and rightfully so, but subtle she is not, although Ryan doubted that she cared about being subtle. He took the bait and let his eyes trail down the chain of her necklace to her cleavage. "I imagine I will be here for a while. This is where I belong, after all." He finished, still looking at her, unsure whether he really wanted to play this game or not, knowing all to likely how it will end, but it was still very tempting.

"I see." Savannah said. She could practically feel his eyes burning a hole through her skin. She was aware of how late it was getting. She needed to get to work, but she didn't need to tell him that they'd be practically working right around the corner from each other. He could find that one out on his own. She straightened up. "It's getting late." She said. It was only the morning, but she had the day to prepare for. If she didn't get to the shop soon there would be one angry Tits McGee. Savannah was responsible when it came to important things like keeping a job. "I'll see you around, then." She said before turning slowly and walking, her hips purposefully swaying back and forth a bit more dramatically than natural.
