Indigo shook his head. "I've got it," he said. He kind of wanted to be alone with his internet. A Hot for Teacher blog would probably go over well, even if he conveniently skipped over said teacher's gender. He'd still been pretty vague about how he was dealing with bi-curiosity. That was a word, right? "Where'd Castiel go?"

"He went to the pet shop, I thought I should come see if you were okay after Jory ran off," Mari said. He didn't want to leave Indigo alone when he didn't know what was up. He eyed Indigo for a moment before turning his attention to the multitude of ice cream options beneath the glass, wondering if he would be able to handle ice cream when he was pretty sure his nose was still frozen.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Indigo said. "He just... doesn't know when to let stuff go." There, that sounded a lot better than the whole story, and it was true anyway. Jory needed to let him go. Jory had his job now, and Indigo wasn't going to go screw it all up. If he stuck around, that was exactly what would happen. He dug out money to pay for his sundae.

"Oh." Mari ordered something small with hot sticky fudge as a compromise. "Can I help?" he asked after a few moments of silence. He wasn't sure what he could do, but it was never fun to see two people who were friends, or had at least been friends, not getting along. "I mean, he seemed super upset and I know you guys are good friends."

Indigo shook his head, still not looking at Mari. He didn't look at the person across the counter either, but took his ice cream. "We're not friends anymore," he said. He tucked away his money. "It got weird." He hoped he wouldn't have to say anything more than that. Mari was supposed to be his boyfriend, right? That meant that they shouldn't talk about anything that had to do with other guys. That meant he was safe.

Another soft oh escaped and Mari was silent until he'd left the counter, no matter how curious he was about what had happened between Indigo and Jory. "I'm sorry that happens, it sucks," he said. "If you want to talk about it or anything, I'm here, okay?" Maybe he could at least get Indigo cheered up, the guy was so quiet and stuff all the time, he never smiled.

"Yeah, thanks," Indigo said. He had no intentions of talking about it, especially to Mari. Not that he and Mari had deep conversations or anything to begin with. They mostly just hung out, unless they were alone. Anyway, he wasn't telling Mari that he was confused about Jory and Jory was apparently over it. He'd just be over it too, and they could be over it on different sides of the staff table at school.
He headed for a booth rather than a table today. He wanted the privacy and the comfort. He set down his sundae cup, then got his laptop plugged in and fired up before sitting. He didn't even know what he intended to do, but whatever it was, it'd help.

Mari slid into the booth on the opposite side of Indigo and brought his legs up in front of him, a posture that was slightly more difficult with the layers of clothing. He decided only keeping one leg up was enough, a good middle ground between comfortable seating and dying of suffocation due to constriction. "Hey," he said, nudging Indigo's foot beneath the table with his own. "You should smile. I heard once that smiling can make you feel better, even if it's a fake one."

Indigo glanced up at Mari, but the fake smile he gave didn't help at all. If anything, it felt sour and he had to work to keep from frowning as he swiped his fingerprint to log in. He didn't want to say anything, so he reached for his sundae and took a huge bite. That ought to keep his mouth busy for a while.

Mari frowned slightly but focused on his own ice cream for the moment. He really wasn't good at the whole caring boyfriend thing. Of course, he didn't really have a lot of experience with it and it took patience and stuff that he didn't normally have. "You know, I'm glad you come and hang out with me and Castiel," he said after some time. "It's fun having someone else around."
