Rowan paused only briefly before making up his mind. He wasn't entirely sure why he wanted to do this as he leaned close and brought his lips to hers, but it interested him, somehow. Not in the way he recalled from their honeymoon, that fire, that compulsive urge to sink into her, but it was pleasant, pleasurable, and yes, enjoyable.

It was so strange to kiss without the influence of a love potion. Even though Shianni was not asexual, she had never found much purpose in pursuing someone for physical pleasures. She picked her hand up from Rowan's and rested gentle fingers along his jawline, gingerly testing with the clear mind she now had. Yes, this was good. Perhaps this marriage was salvageable.

Rowan brought his own hand up lightly against the back of Shianni's, not to stop her or even guide her, but just now, for the sensation of it. It touched down, then moved to the light cloth covering her shoulder, testing absently. He wasn't a sexual creature, but had what he'd thought of from time to time as sensuous tendencies. He liked fine sheets, thick carpets, and plush, comfortable furnishings, clothes that lay smoothly, and subtly mixed textures. In fact, he was interested in the texture of her fine, thin hair, now pooled against her neck. He'd spent enough time exploring simply for the sake of the experience that it was habit, and he saw no reason not to continue doing so.

Shianni hummed softly at Rowan's touch. Soon, she was lost in the gentle, exploratory kiss and movements. She already knew more or less what different areas of Rowan felt like, but it was good to refresh her memory on his hair and the soft, tender skin at his neck. When the kiss finally drew to a close, her hands hovered against him and her eyelids drooped. For a moment, she could not think of what to say.
