It sounded crazy, but Nova couldn't come up with anything to say that wouldn't put her int he place of some of the unmentionables at her old schools, so she remained silent. "Any chance I could get a tour around here? Or is it pretty useless because of all the moving crap?" She really shouldn't be talking about ways to get in trouble, anyway.

Indigo glanced off into the school. "I could try," he offered. "I mean, the big stuff doesn't move. The Great Hall's always over there, Charms is always on the third floor, library's on the fourth, Room of Requirement's on the seventh, but we're supposed to pretend we don't know about that..." He gave a slight shrug. "The Room of Requirement's like Hogwarts' worst-kept secret. You ever heard about it?" Probably not, but for all he knew, she'd talked to someone on the train.

"What's the Room of Requirement?" Nova asked, her eyebrows coming together. Was it something bad? If the students weren't supposed to know about it... She couldn't really imagine what it might be, except maybe a teacher hangout or something.

"The Room of Requirement is this allegedly secret room on the seventh floor that only appears when you need it," Indigo replied. "I've never been in, but I heard it can turn into any kind of room you want, like a bathroom or a music room or a bedroom. A lot of people use it as a one-hour motel, you know?"

"Sounds useful," Nova said, considering what all it could be used for. It sounded good to get away in. "So...wanna go see if we can find it?" she asked, grinning. She was warm enough to count by now and was not quite ready to go and settle into her new dorm room. A trip to some "secret" room sounded worthwhile.

Indigo's gut tightened at the suggestion, and he told himself firmly that Nova's wanting to find the room had nothing whatsoever to do with his description of it as a motel. He seriously needed to get to Hogsmeade so he could use his laptop, because his imagination was working overtime. He gave a shrug that he hoped looked casual. "I guess," he said. "Like I said though, seventh floor." He gestured with a nod toward the main staircase. He knew a couple shortcuts, but it would still take a while.

Nova nodded and slowly started stripping off gloves and other small things to stow away in various pockets as they walked. "Lead the way," she said. She would just get to the top of the stairs and have to look to him, anyway. "How come you've never been to this not-so-secret room?"

Indigo shrugged. "No reason to," he said. "Not doing anything someone can't walk through the room if I'm doing it, don't really need anything I can't get to outside it." He wished he could go in and hook up his laptop, but the problem with electronics was all the magic in the air, and an intensely magical room inside Hogwarts couldn't keep out magic. It just didn't make sense.

Nova looked over at Indigo, unable to wonder if that meant what she thought it meant. Considering the way he had acted in the beginning, she couldn't doubt that it was probably true. She looked away. Nope, she didn't need to think like that, that was always dangerous. If she wanted a new life she needed to learn control, and control didn't mean being someone's first. "Can it really be anything?"

"I guess," Indigo replied. "I heard someone saying they turned it into a soccer field, but they were probably full of it. It's a room. It could grow or shrink or something, but it's still got to have walls, right?" And here he was rambling on about nothing. He shut his mouth and determined to think before he spoke next time.

"Well if it really can be anything..." Nova was more interested the more she heard about the room. What if it could become an ocean for her? Or maybe that fountain from her last school. Then she was lost in thought of the possibilities the room could offer if it was really what Indigo said it was.

Indigo resisted the urge to glance aside at Nova, lest he become a blubbering idiot again, and told himself to say something. "Um, so what do you want it to turn into?" he asked. She couldn't be offended by that, considering they were going together, right? Unless she just wanted him to lead the way.

Nova shrugged. There weren't many places from her past she wished to revisit. The hidden away sections underneath a sometimes-full quidditch stadium? The idea was laughable. "I'm interested to see if it can be outside," she said. "Or somewhere I've never been, some little room that no one else could find."
