Ly wasn't fazed by his little change. She glanced over at the fireplace, eying it before turning unblinking eyes on Ryan again. "Why would anyone want to come here?" she asked. Within one day of coming here she had earned a detention, her brother three, and they had both lost points for destroying those stupid segregated dorm rooms. It was horrid.

Ryan looked up at Ali "Trust me, I have seen most of the schools over in America. None of them come close to the quality of this school. Just because you may have had problems here so far doesn't make it a bad school." Ryan could tell that something had happened in her time at this school. What it was he had no clue, but from her tone and demeanor, it didn't seem to be anything extremely major.

Ly snorted, sniffed, and looked away. "Schools are a damn waste of time," she said. She would rather study on her own, avoiding tutors and professors alike. At least that way she could control her own life and be with her brother as much as she wanted. But she could survive another two years in this place.

Ryan turned around to face her, "If you really feel that way, then why are you here? You seem like a fairly intelligent girl, I am sure you could educate yourself with most of the things you need to know."

"I don't have a choice," Ly said. "Our parents forced my brother and me to come here. Trust me, we would much rather be somewhere else." Maybe they shouldn't have been so hard on their last tutor, maybe then they would still be together at home instead of in this horrible place where they were forcibly separated all the time.
