No, Aiden hadn't made the team. But he had made the reserve, and that was a hell of a lot better than nothing. He had just gotten his letter an hour before and had decided it was definitely worth skipping Herbology to spend time out on the field before team practices started and he wouldn't have the chance. His little bear, Sir Cadogan, was wobbling around near his bag in the grass near the changing rooms, and he was high in the air, without his hat, all but laughing in his giddiness.

The pitch was always a place for her settle in the stands and watch the dedicated players practice their art. She was always mesmerized by the tricks some of the students did and whenever there were students of different houses, it was fun to watch them try to outdo each other.
Today was different, in one hand she had her bag and in the other a broom. Celyn almost never flew, but today she felt like she needed to feel the same excitement she watched. Coming towards the change rooms, she dropped her stuff close by another bag, but paused at an all too familiar bear. "Fancy seeing you here Sir Cadogan!" she was obviously exited, not only was the cutest stuffed bear here, but his owner quite the character himself was present. Smiling, she kicked off into the air and quickly scoured the at eye level. She assumed he was probably higher up, she tilted her head up looking for Aiden.

On one of his passes high in the air, Aiden realized he was no longer alone. He swooped down to catch a glimpse and, if possible, his grin widened when he recognized Celyn. "Hey!" he called as he circled around to settle beside her. "What's up?" he asked. He had never seen her out on the field flying, and it was rare that someone was out that he didn't recognize.

Catching a glimpse of him, her lips cracked into a smile. Echoing his 'hey' she watched him come down towards her effortlessly and in control. You could tell a quidditch player by their posture, the way they leaned their bodies into their brooms and even the placement of their legs. Celyn was just a casual flyer, so her legs just dangled at the sides while she sat relaxed on the broom. "Testing out my flying legs, for someone who fly's once every blue moon, I say I'm fairing pretty well." her voice showed that she was glad to see Aiden.
His aura was so positive, just being around him made her feel happy, something she needed now a days in her life. "What about you? From what I can tell... you've got me beat by a landslide." she was never this talkative with anyone, but Aiden brought it out in her ever since she met him at Warlock sands, she felt like he was the needed social life she was craving for so long.

"I got onto the Appleby Arrows reserve team," Aidan said, promptly doing another loop just because of the excitement coursing through him. He thought that told of his flying skills perfectly. It meant he got to practice with professionals and one day he would be on the actual team. Was it bad to hope that something happened to the keeper so that he could take over?

Now that she wasn't expecting. Celyn wasn't a Quidditch player, but she sure as hell was a Quidditch fan! She clapped her hands together, clutching them and pressing her knuckles to her chin. "Congratulations!" but as soon as the words were out of her mouth she wobbled and had to grab onto the handle for balance. "I guess myself and Sir Cadogan have a lot more in common than I thought." steadying herself, she slowly let go of the handles and sat up. "I think we should celebrate!" she'd offer that they go to Hogsmeade, but they could do that at anytime; flying around was much more interesting... especially with her lack of talent and judging by the news, he was an expert broomsman.

"Totally," Aiden said, still grinning. "We should raid the kitchen later. Those elves will give us whatever the hell we want." They would hop around and next thing he knew there was a large tray with ears popping out on either side bobbing toward him loaded down with whatever he wanted. "If you're not good to fly I can get down," he offered, "I've got most of the energy out." Most.

Celyn didn't think it was easy to raid the kitchen, she had never been down there before. But there was always time for that later as he said himself.
Celyn slowly ascended with the broom and circled over him, leaning forward to look qt him. "I came up here so I can get better, this Celyn refuses to go back to her dorm still sucking." As she decended her body was stiff and she refused to look down. "Well in all honesty I'm kinda terrified of heights... and I'm just too damn pride to be afrqid of anything." This was the best way to get over it, and there was no one better to be around than a future Applyby Arrow.

Aiden laughed and shook his head. "It's not too bad," he claimed. "You could always risk getting on my broom, show you some moves." And he would probably scare her half to death if she was afraid of heights. That wasn't worth thinking about, she probably wouldn't even begin to agree with the half-joking offer, anyway.

Celyn was no Gryffindor, she wasn't brave and preferred avoiding confrontation than sticking up for herself and others... unless of course it was life or death which thankfully she never had to deal with that. In this case however, she was tempted by his offer. If it helped her get over this silly fear she had then she was all for it. For pride... she'll be ballsy.
Eying Aiden for a moment she thought about his offer. "Do your absolute worst; well best flying I mean. Now scootch forward a bit." The look on her face showed how serious she was. Yes, she knew she'd he doing something that could possibly have her scream in horror, but if she could ride an airplane and only have a minor panic attack she could do this.
"No better time than the present!" The sarcasm was inevitable, but if she met the person who said that quote, she'd attack them for being too right since it worked against her.

Aiden laughed, "Come on, get down." He wasn't about to do a midair mount trade, he wouldn't even try that with someone at his own skill level without a lot of practice. He dove for the ground, towards Sir Cadogan, to let Celyn climb onto his broom with him. Nothing bad would happen, flying was something he was entirely confident in.

Celyn followed Aiden, albeit at a much slower pace. Dismounting her broom she set it aside and turned to face Aiden. Taking a deep breath it seemed like for a fraction of a second she hesitated, but then slowly slid on his broom behind him. Celyn was, to say the least, terrified of what she got herself into, but it ould be worth it... she hoped. "Don't go easy on me." She half joked finally breaking her silence.

Aiden grinned and looked over his shoulder at Celyn. "Hold on tight," he said, then kicked off. He had no issues with her holding onto him, it was necessary. It would take a moment to get used to the feel of the added weight and adjust his movements to it, but one of the perks of having a top of the line broom was being able to easily compensate.

Celyn shut her eyes tight and wrqpped her arms around him. She didn't think much of it, it was necessary and she had jever minded being this close to a male friend. "Just don't let me die..." and they were off. Celyn refused to open her eyes, her arms tightened abit, but not so much as to cause him discomfort. She had faith in his ability, but she was too scared to open her eyes. Instead, she kept her head buried in his back like a shy child and kept mutter "You're okay, you'll be fine, you won't die." Oh but how she felt differently on the matter.

Aiden grinned at the feeling of Celyn hanging on for dear life and once he got to an acceptable height, he slowed to a stop and glanced over his shoulder. "Look," he said. Below them stretched a view of the grounds, with the forest off to one side and the lake on the other. It wasn't really his favorite part of flying, but he couldn't deny that the views were something to admire.
