She was back to cold stone walls with torches lining up the walls magically lit. The shadow from the strong embers dancing on the walls to a tune that could not be understood by those who were blind to art. The rotating staircase that could have you running in circles and by the time you realize it, your foot slips into a trick stair.
She stood standing above what seemed like a staircase missing a bunch of stairs, she knew better and walked casually. Where a stair was missing she stepped down and her foot didn't sink to what seemed like a deadly fall. The stairs had just been made invisible. This part of the castle was always empty and quiet. A good hiding place away from prying eyes and ridiculous snarky comments.
She found herself alone it was quiet she didn't have to listen to the ignorance sprung from gossip or the self righteous male population lurking in all corners of the school. She could just sit in the corridor and just exist without a thought in her mind or a worry to be had. She could just be…

Ly didn't like being away from her brother, but because of that annoying little girl he was in detention now, and she didn't want to stay in the dorms alone, so she was wandering through the castle, searching for interesting places to bring him to when he was out. She had learned quickly not to trust the staircases when she had nearly fallen down a flight because of a disappearing step, and was trying to avoid them whenever possible. When she came upon a flight that seemed to be missing half of its stairs, she let out a loud curse. "What the hell were the builders thinking with this?"

Lena was taking a stroll around the castle to get used to the weird objects around the school. She had guessed she was on the fourth floor and headed towards the staircase to go on up to the next, when she heard soneone protesting about builders.. Lena walked to the bannister, leaned over to look down to see a bleach blonde haired girl with a look of disgust on her face at the stairs. "No point shouting at the stairs, nothing they can really do.." Lena said with a little laugh. "Have you tried a spell to try to 'reveal' the missing steps?" resting her chin on her hand, she watched the girl. She hadnt seen anyone on her travels so far and was beginning to worry if there were even others in the castle.

Celyn wasn't doing much to begin with but hearing the sound of the girls curse had invaded her moment, but it wasn't her fault. Standing up and turning the corner she looked at the girl standing atop the stairs arms crossed. The girl was either new or didn't explore the castle very often. Before she could speak another joined her, perhaps a friend."They thought it would be funny to watch student try jumping down a flight of stairs only to discover the stairs are just invisible. Besides I don't think any simple spell would reveal it. The tricks in this castle is very old magic." She walked over and placed her foot on one, but instead of it sinking in, it stayed planted on what was supposed to be a stair.
After her demonstration she stood back watching the girls with curious eyes.

Ly firmly ignored the girl that had laughed at her, certainly in no mood to meet another nuisance. She eyed the other girl and took a few steps down, cautiously putting her weight on one of the invisible stairs. "What kind of castle is this?" she asked. "Is there anything good in it?" First she was in a separate dorm from her brother, second, he couldn't even visit her in her dorm, and now the damned stairs. What on earth was next?

"Sounds like there is a lot of time on some peoples hands" Lena chipped in. She had spotted the other girl further down from Blondie. "Hmm I am not liking this castle so far. Its too..." Lena couldnt finish the sentence. She couldnt translate a powerful word that could describe how she felt about this school. Cold? Bare? Full of pointless surprises. Nope nothing could some up how she was feeling.

Celyn was already beginning to form an idea of the two girls, you could tell a lot by the first words spoken and judging by the blonde girls lack of response to the burnette, they were not friend. "This castle does have its inconveniences, but it has other secrets that gives students a fighting chance at survival." Celyn could just up and tell the girls, but it took away from the excitement of discovery, unless they asked she would not tell.
Celyn knew how hard it was adjusting to Hogwarts being from the States, the whole castle was an overwhelming experience, but a somewhqt positive one in some aspects.
Turning to the second girl she raised a brow. "Those quick to judge remain ignorant and blind." Not that she was calling the girl such, but she was already demeaning Hogwarts which was much more than trick steps.

Ly glanced up at the girl who had laughed. "Well, once I'm with my brother again I'll have to search out some of the secrets," she said as she brought her eyes back to the more helpful girl. She wouldn't even be out without him if she didn't have to be. Perhaps things would get better, once their damn detentions were over with. According to someone in their house, her and her brother had already lost them a lot of points...whatever that meant.

"Oh you have a brother in the school? Lucky you know someone here, is he older or younger than you?" Lena asked politely to the blonde girl, she had felt awful alone since she arrived at the school by herself. She slowly began to walk down the stairs looking at the girls, "My names Lena by the way." she added in her thick Russian accent, no point being unknown to each other, Lena felt they all had something in common.. She stopped at the flight of steps before the blonde girl and sat down on the first step, hugging her knees.

It had gone from a day of personal musing time to having to explain Hogwarts charms. She wasn't really interested and the burnnette, Lena was it, hadn't even acknowledge the fact that Celyn helped, at least the blonde was a bit more courteous even if it was just a mention of a brother. Whatever, Celyns silent thoughts were more entertaining to begin with. Amused the girl didn't even notice Celyns jab, she shrugged and leaned back onto the wall. "I'm sure you and your brother will be well acquainted with Hogwarts soon enough, and you Leah." Celyn didn't notice her mistake, but when she did she didn't care enough to correct herself. Besides Celyn never bothered with names much and since the girl didn't ask, Celyn wouldn't tell... a seemingly constant idea she was following through out this conversation.

"Desi, and he's my twin," Ly said to Lena. She had to learn names, or else she would forget who she was to who and then the ruse would be ruined. It didn't matter whether she or her brother were older, it was only a matter of moments, anyway. "We've already toured the grounds from the sky." She was sure it wasn't allowed, but what did they care?

"Nice, are yous identical?" she asked her mouth hardly moving with the force she was putting on her knee with her chin, Lena had never met or seen twins before and she was interested. "Gosh I hate flying! I just prefer to have my both feet on the ground." She laughed lightly, "And what about you?" She asked the brown haired girl, Lena didnt bother to correct her mispronunciation of her name, many pronounced her name as Le-na rather than Len-a. She chose to just be nice and it would save any hassle or bad feelings between them..Hopefully...

She was ready to just turn away and let the girls talk, but she didn't move as Lena turned to her. "Celyn, and flying has it's perks." well, certainly she thought the idea of flying over the school would be worthwhile. She hadn't tried it, she did visit the pitch. The height of the stands meant stronger winds, better view and good inspirations, but rarely did she fly.
Deciding the girls weren't going to move, Celyn sat on the ground leaning against the wall legs crossed, her stuff laid abandoned down the hall, but this was the only entrance and unless there were students down the other side of the corridor, nothing was going to be stolen. Not that there was anything of value... not including her artwork.

"Flying is freedom and power," Ly said simply. That was the best way to describe it. It wasn't exhilaration, it wasn't happiness. It was the knowledge that she could go anywhere she wanted and no one could stop her. The trip around the castle with her brother had been a much needed end to a chaotic day.

"Ah well I think I will still give it a pass, even thinking about is turning my stomach." Lena replied feeling a tight hold on her stomach. "So what do you guys do around here for fun? This is my first night here and I have found sweet F.A. to do." she giggled, all Lena had seen was empty rooms, portraits and a lot of old and weird statues.
