Lena stood in London's King Cross station, her hands on her luggage trolley and her train ticket to Hogwarts. She was full of excitement, a new school, new people, subjects, places, the list went on! Her father placed a hand on her shoulder and gave it a squeeze, bring Lena back to the here and now. She looked up to him, a tall, dark handsome figure with green eyes that she had also been luck enough to inherit. Lena had noticed some other students with the same sort of trunks as her, running through the wall which held the sign 9. She thought that this maybe how she got to Platform 9 3/4.
Watching a family of four prepare themselves to run through the wall, Lena lined up behind them with her dad beside her and followed them in. She was expecting to hit a brick wall but luckily she didnt, and smokey fumes from the train filled her lungs. The platform was buzzing! People running around trying to pack their belongings onto the train, saying their farewells and all sorts.
Lena pushed her trolley up to the end of the train, hoping to get a carriage. Her dad tailed along behind her, taking in all the surroundings. It was a new experience for him as well, in Lena's last school she just simply walked to it. It wasnt a boarding school like Hogwarts, more of a typical Muggle school only it was for witches. Finally finding an empty compartment, Lena's dad helped her load her truck and her owl into it. She stood staring at the little carriage and realized that she was leaving and wouldnt see her dad until Christmas and that wasnt even confirmed yet!
Her dad came up to Lena and gave her a huge hug. "Good luck my little princess. Have fun and be good." he said in his thick Russian accent. Lena hugged him back replying, "I will try. I will write everyday telling you all about it." A tear escaped her eye, she had never been away from home for soo long before. A loud whistle blew and Lena knew that was it, time was up. Her father kissed her hair and said, "Love you." and helped Lena into the compartment, "love you more" she replied and hugged her father one last time through the window. She waved to her dad but he seemed to have disappeared. She sat back in her seat in the empty compartment, her eyes red and puffy as the train shook and started to puff loudly out of the station. Lena had never felt soo alone as she did at that moment..
