Ly opened a compartment door with one hand, his other strung out behind him, clasped around that of his sister. He gave a quick squeeze, as though to say, Found one, then slipped through, the heavy, battered leather messenger bag at his hip jingling with its collection of buckles, keychains, and studs. Every other compartment had been full, and they wanted some damned privacy. It was bad enough being sent to boarding school without immediately being thrown into the mix with the sheep and goats.
Outside the windows of Compartment F, people milled about, saying last goodbyes and whatever the hell else people did on Platform 9¾. Their parents weren't visible now, having likely left the first moment possible. Steam rose up, curling around the sides of the crimson engine, and Ly watched it a moment before turning, flopping back onto the bench, and pulling his sister on top of him.
"'Bout f~in' time," he said. They hadn't been alone for hours now, what with the last-minute lectures, the eleventh-hour confession and the priest's plea to stop sinning. Ly always took pleasure in the flustered and shaken tone in the man's voice, and aside from keeping his parents quiet, it was the only reason he still cooperated in that farce.
He still wore his rosary, the fine peridot beads to match his eyes strung on threads of silk, but it wasn't for any kind of devotion. His lovers enjoyed the look of them, and he enjoyed the irony. Their birthstone was formed from volcanic activity, hellfire, but supposedly protected from evil. The beads represented a religion he didn't believe in. They were an attractive trinket.
Ly wrapped his arms around his sister and leaned his head back. This was going to be a miserably long ride, and he may as well make himself as comfortable as he could get.

Ly hummed softly in agreement with her brother. Their parents seemed intent upon driving her to the brink of insanity and being alone with him was, as always, a breath of fresh air. She fingered the rosary he wore, something she would refuse to accept on anyone else. After a few moments of simply relishing the feeling of their new-found privacy, she sighed heavily. "We'll be alone."
She knew how boarding schools worked, how sexes were separated no matter what. It was impossible to know just how separated they would be, there had to be curfews. Would they be in the same general area? Would there just be a door between them, or would they be on opposite ends of the school?

"No," Ly argued, his full lips hardly moving with the word. He stretched his legs into the center of the compartment, then stilled. "We'll find a way." They'd been finding a way their entire life, to the consternation of countless governesses, tutors, and relatives, and they'd continue finding one. There were only so many spells one could put up to keep people out of places, and if need be, he'd call sexism or some other bullcrap. Surely after however many centuries, someone had managed a tryst in the wrong dormitory, and surely they could make that work for them.
It didn't even occur to Ly that he and his sister wouldn't be sorted the same. They were sides of the same coin, the other half of one another. Twins was a distinction based solely on the fact that they occupied separate bodies, but it was a technicality. They wouldn't be kept apart, because it simply wasn't possible to separate a soul without killing it.

Ly wasn't worried about houses, she wasn't worried about people or being away from home or writing essays. As long as she could be with her brother, as long as they could find a place to be theirs, she could get by anything. "It's good to be away from them, though," she said. It would be easy to ignore owls, if any came, and no longer were they subject to those looks from parents that thought two in the morning was an inappropriate time to come home.

"Mhm," was Ly's response. He liked having a familiar den to return to, their connected suite of rooms with the distant glow of city lights above the treetops, but they'd decided to treat this as an adventure, once they'd realized they really weren't getting out of it. Besides, the people at school didn't know them. The Headmistress might know them on paper, but Ly was sure that their tutors hadn't spent an inordinate amount of time describing their misdeeds in ink. Far easier to quit, and leave a surprise for the next one.
"We'll have London, Ly," he told his sister. It was a place they hadn't had nearly enough time in, and he'd heard that the students spent as much time there as the school. They could join in a group the first time, find out where everything happened, then strike out on their own as the mood struck. His lips curved.

Ly's lips curved in a mirror of her brother's. Maybe she was a little interested in meeting her new classmates. It was a whole new pool of people to interact with. "People, and hiding places," she said. She had heard of hidden corridors and lying walls in the ancient school. She looked up at him, her eyes shining softly in mischief. "We could make it ours." There were rules to ignore and people to rule.

"Mhm." Of course they'd make it theirs. They simply weren't built to bow, scrape, and conform, so they'd adjust. Or, rather, they would make their surroundings adjust to suit them. He hated the thought of sharing his personal space with anyone besides Ly, but he'd teach the others to keep out of his way.
"They'll regret this." Ly wasn't referring to the school, though the school likely would regrret their coming, but their parents. Their parents, who'd thought to tame them by making them someone else's problem. But yes, rules were made to be ignored or flat-out broken, and as they adjusted, so would their world, to suit them.

Ly nodded and rested her head on her brother's shoulder, staring out the window. She wondered how the professors would react to them. Perhaps they would be like their one tutor, who had refused to continue after three weeks. Or maybe the one that hadn't acknowledged anything made him uncomfortable until he had just stopped coming. "I heard there are a lot of young professors," she said.

Pansy was strolling down the different carriages of the train, trying to find an empty compartment but she was having no luck. She spotted two people in one, Its better than nothing, she thought. She opened the door and glanced at the people who occupied. Pansy felt her mouth drop open just a little bit, she noticed that they were twins, and attractive at that. "Do you mind if I sit in here? This is the quietest compartment on this hell hole." Pansy grimaced, she felt one of her headaches coming on and she wasn't going to be in a good mood if she didnt take her meds soon..

Ly opened his eyes at the sound of the compartment door opening, and his brows drew ever slightly together. "This compartment is full," he said. His arms tightened a bit around his sister and he adjusted her on his lap. They hadn't been alone an hour yet, and already someone was intruding. "Nice hair," he added. It could have been worse, like a group of first-year preppy mudbloods, but the fact remained that they wanted to be alone, and they weren't.

Ly looped her arms around her brother's neck. She pulled her eyes from the window to watch the newcomer. Her gaze flowed over the girl, but she remained silent, preferring to let her brother take over. She didn't particularly care if the girl felt her disapproval or evaluation. The girl was interrupting, and Ly wouldn't hold back the harshness in her eyes.

"Thanks," she nodded towards the comment of her hair, everyone thought it was weird and her parents tried begged her to dye it out, but that was just them contradiction with Pansy being herself. This was what she was. Pansy groaned, "I wont bug yous and I will have these in." she held up her Ipod with the green earphones dangling from it. "I just need somewhere with no one constantly nagging me!" Pansy pleaded with the two, she felt her brain beginning to throb. Oh no! She held her empty hand up to her head and closed her eyes with the pain.

"What the hell's that?" Ly asked, though it may as well have been a demand, since he expected an answer. He'd never seen anything like what the girl was holding, and if it was something he decided he wanted, he'd get one. If his sister wanted one, he'd get her one, too. He eyed the object even as the shudder of the train attempted to throw him from his seat. He was well-settled, and wasn't moving unless he damn well felt like it.

Ly's arms tightened momentarily, but that was the only sign the train's sudden movement affected her. She found it amusing that the girl was looking for somewhere to get away from people and so had come to them, who had been trying the same thing. Surely there were other compartments, or she could just sit out in the on the corridor, instead of intruding on them.

Pansy stumbled a bit at the trains sudden jerk, she held onto the side of the door of the carriage to hold her up straight. She felt the cold looks she was getting from the girl. "Oh this?" she held the little slim black box, "Its an Ipod, its a muggle invention, plays music. Works on the train but once you get to Hogwarts, it rarely works." Pansy loved her music, it calmed her when she took one of her turns.. "Want to see it?" Pansy tossed the Ipod to the boy and slowly sat down facing the two. She was trying to buy some time and maybe change their minds.
