A warmer place

Ryan sighed and looked at her, not wanting to tell her the full truth. He decided not to tell her about Eloise "Im sorry Gabby its just my mind keeps going back to Vannah sometimes. No matter how hard I try to keep her out of my mind, she comes back from time to time."

Gabby was immediately on her guard. "Vannah, that's your old girlfriend isn't it? I don't know why you thought you had to hide it from me. i mean you were with her for a long time, of course you're going to think about her from time to time. But as long as that's all it is. If your seeing her, or any other girl for that matter, when your seeing me, then you will have h*ll to pay. I will not be impressed and believe me you will know about it, the whole castle will."

Gabby thought she had better warn Ryan that as much as she liked to play games, she could not, would not be played with. She would stand up for herself and her dignity. She hoped it wasn't that bad though because ryan was a great friend, regardless of anything else.

Ryan nodded and looked at her "Yea that's all. Im not seeing anyone else" he lied.

[Gabby Brocklehurst]

Gabby felt that there was still something he wasn't telling her. but she was suddenly too tired to care. She went back over to him and fitted herself into his body shape so they melded. She shut her eyes and sighed. "I'm sorry if I sounded a bit snappish" she mumured.

Ryan put his arms around her "It's ok babe, I understand." he said as he kissed her forehead.

Gabby settled down. Hoping that he was telling the truth, otherwise all of this just served to make her more angry at him. For now she let it slide and instead of turning and giving him a proper kiss like she would have done normally. She just sat there, gazing into the fire. Her eyes consuming the blaze, her mind relaxing. She felt drowsiness overcome her and her eyes fluttered. She didn't want to fall asleep, but it was so comfy and warm...

Ryan ran his hand through her hair gentally as he watched the fire and thought about what he was doing.

Gabby had fallen asleep. A dream flowed through her mind. She was back at home, riding Rain over the moors. She looked round and saw Ryan behind her, flying on his broom. She laughed, thinking they were racing or playing a game. Then she suddenly stopped as she realsied that she wasn't playing, she was running away from him. He was trying to catch up, but she just kept urging Rain further and further on. She reached the forest and dove into its depths, hiding beneath the branches.

Gabby suddnely woke up, but didn't move, her dream disturbed her and she didn't know what it meant.

Ryan noticed Gabby wake up and looked at her "Are you ok?"

"Fine, fine just a strange dream that's all" she smiled at Ryan, even though she felt hollow inside. This was not going to end well and Gabby knew it.

Ryan looked at her and knew she was not fine and sighed "Maybe we should get some sleep."

"That might be a good idea." Gabby said. She stood up and stretched then yawned. "Today was great." she said quietly, looking at Ryan, wondering what their future was.

Ryan stood up and kissed her "Yes it was." he said as he hugged her.

Gabby kissed him back as if it was the last time she would be able to. She fell deeper and deeper into it, allowing herself this one last luxury. The kiss was harder and more serious than any before. She hoped Ryan would respond.

Ryan was suprised by the force of Gabby's kiss but he returned it in full as he put his arms around her.
